📝 RECIPE: (yields 2 x 6inch pans = about 10 servings)
For the Cake:
2 Eggs (I used large eggs)
1 tsp Vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 Cup Granulated sugar (200g)
1/3 Cup Vegetable oil (80ml)
60g Chocolate + 20g Unsalted Butter (1/3 C. + 1 1/2 Tbsp)
1 Cup Buttermilk (235ml)
1 1/2 Cups All purpose flour (215g)
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder (I used Black cocoa powder) (50g)
1/3 Cup Cooled Coffee (coffee of your choice) (80ml)
For the Frosting:
130g Chocolate (3/4 of a cup)
65g Unsalted Butter (1/3 of a cup)
50g Powdered Sugar (1/2 cup)
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Tbsp Cocoa powder (7.5g)
100ml Whipping cream (or heavy cream) (0.4 cups)
⚠️TIPS:
- You can combine all the ingredients together and melt in microwave or you can add the cream later like I did
- You can leave the frosting as it is or you can whip it to make whipped chocolate frosting
