Hi! It depends on the size of the tin, if it’s 8inch i would say yes, the cake will take a lot of time to bake and might end up dry. In bigger tins, 1 tin will be enough. It’s a large recipe! But you can find the halved version on here or www.buttercut.org ☺️☺️
Personally not a fan of this recipe. It did not contain enough sugar. Also did not even brown properly or even taste that good. If you're a beginner don't go for this recipe.
