You could also visit Mt. Isarog in Camarines Sur for falls or hotsprings. There's also lots of hotsprings around Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon. For beaches or islands you could try Caramoan islands in Camarines Sur or Calaguas island in Camarines Norte.

Zac Efron once did exactly what you have done. The only difference is he did it rain, lots of it, adding more adventure to the trek. He, along with his companions, arrived there, I think on a private jet, landed on Bicol airport and went straight to Cagsawa ruins. He rode an ATV to the long and high trail, to his heart's delight. He even mentioned his trip in a guesting on Ellen DeGeneres show, telling how pumped he was on that Mayon Volcano adventure drive.

You should have commented on how ramshackle the downtown of Legazpi is compared to other Philippine regional centers. To think Albay was the richest province in the Philippines during Spanish times because of the abaca trade which was virtually a world monopoly (abaca can't be grown anywhere else but in the Philippines & it was centered in Legazpi) . Legaspi actually was only limited to its central area around the church St. Gregory Magno which can still be delineated today by its typical Spanish grid. But around this small area is all water & mangrove so that most of Legazpi today around the original central grid is actually reclaimed land. Alas, it came under corrupt Philippine authorities to plan & extend the organized grid but they let squatters ran over it so that most of the reclaimed land which now comprises the present Legazpi downtown is composed of a mishmash of crooked streets, narrow streets with a mishmash of ramshackle wooden buildings, malls & scattered modern buildings.

Imagine going on an ATV tour and telling the tour guide to turn off his ATV because it’s too noisy….that’s messed up…try that in Western civilization and you know what’ll happen

Have you tried the local cusine yet? Make sure to sample it before returning to Manila. Must try is the pinangat, bicol express, pili nuts and the sili ice cream. Have fun chairman!
