Great video, Mevo+ is fantastic! One thing I'd add is I've been using Mevo+ for 2 years and putt out every round when playing alone and turn off with friends. I agree putting won't help with distance control, but it forces you to keep the club face square which has translated over to the course for me. Definitely holing more putts on the course
Great review. Totaly agree on all points and I've had it since it came out in 2020 and no plan on upgrading. Nobody seems to mention the excellent FS Golf PC software option (somewhat free for original users and maybe new 2023 mevo+) as it's ideal for technical training with automatic multi-cam video reviews features and stats.. I don't think any of the competitor would give you this without subscriptions/fees.. btw, did you just manually overlay the Advanced FS metrics windows to the driving range in video or is that now a supported Tile? Would be sweet not to have to alt-tab or get a second screen. Cheers
GREAT Info Question on the hitting mat insert, what kind are you using? Fiberbuilt is what I am looking at. Going to add aTrue Bride hitting mat( Rough/Sand trap ).
Your videos are awesome!! Can you please give me some advice on the mevo plus? I am asking because my space is 10.5width (wall to wall) which ill need to set the tee/ball of my hitting mat (5ft * 5ft) more towards the right side of the room to avoid my driver hitting against the wall. If you have any suggestions on how to set up for off-center alignment would love to hear your advice! Ps. I have more than enough depth for the mevo plus. however, due to width restriction do you think skytrak+ is a better idea? Thanks in advance
Hey Panda! Email me at golfbustersofficial@gmail.com and we can talk more. I would still lean towards the Mevo+ since you actually will get more width with the Mevo+ because the skytrak+ will take an extra 2 feet of widthish off your wall.
I finally got the Mevo Plus, thanks for the discount code! Question for you! When I use the range on Mevo Plus my yardage is about 15 yard short? I go to play the GS Pro and the range yards on GS Pro are what I would normally be at? I am 8' from unit to where I am hitting and the screen is about 9'-10 from hitting area. Cant figure it out! Thanks for any help!
Are you saying the FS App range is shorter? I have found it is a little bit shorter and that's why I use the gspro app for everything. I would look at weather settings in the fs app but the algorithm may just be a little short compared to gspro but it shouldn't be 15 yards short.. Are you using the RCT balls?
Is there a resource anywhere that explains all of the data points and what range a good swing/shot should fall into? Some are self explanatory, but others I have no idea what I should be trying to achieve.
Hey Kawboy! I should figure that out, I know trackman has like an ideal numbers for each club but I haven’t taken the time to look for that. I’ll try to do that soon!
@@GolfBusters That would be awesome! You would think that the Flightscope website would go into the data in great detail. If it is there, I haven't been able to find it.
Check out the Flightscope online webinars and their online academy where they teach you about all those... They are essentially the same as Trackman but here are a few small differences.
First what is your thoughts about the mevo? I am considering it as a starter into launch monitors before I spend the money. Also do you have to use the RCT balls or will the stickers and your preferred golf ball work as well
I personally haven't tested it but I'm guessing it reads full swing shots just as well but it doesn't have golf simulation. I would not use anything other than RCT balls inside.
@@GolfBusters thanks for such a quick response regarding the mevo hopefully maybe on day you might consider reviewing it. As for as the RCT balls go that is a bummer since I really like and play OnCore anyway hope you and your family have a great new year
I’ve considered switching from r10 to mevo+. I have 17 feet from r10 to impact screen right now. Is that good enough to not hinder accuracy of the mevo? I currently hit 7 feet from the r10 with 10 feet to the impact screen and get pretty good numbers o feel like
I've heard several videos mention the battery life. I currently use a Skytrak and just leave the USB cable connected all the time, which powers my Skytrak as well as provides a hardwire connection, which is 1000 times more dependable than wifi. Does the Flightscope's USB port function similarly? I currently have GSPro software, which I absolutely LOVE and I find myself going back and forth from my house to my garage all day long, taking periodic breaks between rounds and practice, so I just leave everything on and connected all day long.
I’m in the market for a mevo plus but my space is boarder line. If the mevo plus was set up 7ft behind behind and the impact screen 8ft in front (15ft total) would I end up with incorrect results?
I would not go with the mevo if that is the space you have. At that point I would probably recommend the Skytrak+ or GC3. I have some secret discount codes I can get you for those devices if you email me golfbustersofficial@gmail.com
In my indoor setup (which has the required space before and after the ball) I find it gives me too short carry on my half-swing wedge shots. I'm using real golf balls with metallic dot aimed forward. Do you think RCT balls would help with this?
@GolfBusters do you use the GSPro configuration to use the launch monitor numbers or let GSPro interpret the raw data? Does one make a difference over the other?
Thank you for the vid! Love the no subscriptions. Currently have a Garmin but looking to upgrade in the future. What're the minimum room requirements for the mevo +? I know you mentioned 18+feet for depth, but can you get away with a little smaller?
Hey Max! I wish you could but you really can’t. I find you need exactly 8 feet from ball to Mevo, and you want 10 feet or more from ball to screen. So with the foot behind your screen you probably need 19 feet. If you have any other questions let me know!
@@GolfBusters okay for sure! My garage is 19 feet long so I think I could make it work with the 1 foot between garage and screen, but would be cutting it close! Thank you!
Hi max, I’ve had the Mevo+ for a few years now. My garage I have unit about 7 feet from ball and get good results, but you just really don’t know as every environment is different and radar units can be picky. I imagine is the r10 is working in the space, the mevo+ would do just fine.
Hey! so the rangeball setting is used when your at the driving rang hitting range balls and I believe you are correct it will increase yardage but i'm not quite sure how the algorithm works. Weather can be used to affect distance both with wind and with temp, humidity, etc.
To whoever is considering this unit in a “normal” garage setting. I’ve had this unit for 4 years now and although I do like it, it does have issues with interference of metal and other objects in its surroundings. You will never know what’s causing the interference. It’s a guessing game. Sometimes it works great and sometimes it’s off by a good margin. It will drive you mad at times.
I have those. I think my only fix is switching to a camera based simulator. I’ve dealt with Tech Support on multiple occasions and never had a complete fix. Yardages can be 20-30 yards off and certain range sessions.
Hey I bought the mevo+ with pro package and face impact but want to get the screen you have in the background behind you that looks like gcquad club data at 6 mins 22. So showing dynamic loft, spin, chs etc with the black background? Any help appreciated
Is the pro package tied to the account or the Flightscope itself? Just in case if the unit is broken and I have to replace it do I need to purchase the package again
It’s tied to the unit. I just purchased a 2nd hand unit with pro package and can use it with my newly created flightscope account. I’m sure flightscope would help you transfer it if it’s a warranty claim though.
