The Edge 540v3 doesn't need a gyro, it goes exactly where you ask every time. Makes even an average pilot look really good :)

@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC went with the edge 540 v3, I have a sunny sky 2216 1100kv motor, will just a regular 30a esc be fine? Also what servos do you recommend, I saw the csp 14g servos on th site but I was trying to find a cheaper alternative

Hola Fran, en los corchos, siempre hago un recorte en el fuselaje vertical, ligeramente más pequeño que la batería. Así, meto la batería en ese hueco y queda atrapado por la elasticidad del corcho. Antes de cortar, haz un vuelo o dos con la batería colocada con cinta donde crees que debe ir, de forma que te permite encontrar la posición perfecta, antes de cortar.

-Wing alignment is quite easy as "forward-backward" there are notches in wing and fuselage that align so you can't get it wrong. "up-down" is also relatively simple as the fattest part of the wing is same thickness as the fuselage, so you can tack that part in and then just need to eye ball the rear of the wing, but given the thickness it is quite easy to get right. -This foamy kind of fits in as "not a foamy", flies more like a proper plane as starts to have some weight to it and wants to fly, not just float. Haven't tried the Veloxity yet. -Weight, sorry, dont ever look, but mine will be about 40g heavier than normal due to the servo change... Thanks for the feedback!!! Glad you like!!

@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC One last thing a suggestion for a future video. The Extreme Flight 1.2 - 1.5m wing span class electric planes are really well documented and show cased really well. What is less known is the electric analogues in this class from Pilot RC. In particular the 1.5 - 1.7m wingspan class. I reckon that would be a great video and how this fits into the food chain. Totally up to you but just a suggestion.

A quick question for you what is your all up weight and flight time on your 1300mAh configuration. I'm currently running mine on the 850mAh packs and given I'm a throttle hog I am chewing through the batteries a bit. Hi Felipe, the hole is a little too small for the battery, so it holds it in place without need for any other fixings. Its important to store the model without battery when not flying so the foam “bounces back” and doesn’t adapt to the size…

Yes, the only problem is scaling down the weight in the same proportion as the wingspan… you need extremely light equipment and materials to make a foot long version with similar wingloading

Real flight 9 , or used Phoenix rc simulator. Horizon makes real flight and it has all the new planes out and old ones. Great for practice and learning. Worth the buy.

Super glue/ cyani will do miracles. I had the same a few times with it. Add some carbon rods if it doesnt stay straight

The problem is that the provoded prop is indeed too weak... needs to use the other prop that I mention in the video, it changes the power radically..

Are you running massive high rates on your ailerons? They need all the deflection they can get in a hover as there is only prop wash available to work with

@@Coops777 Hi, yes all that I fly it on is high rates. I have a lot of 3D planes and this is the only one that is like this. As always, some right aileron is needed, but on this plane it takes full deflection most of the time. I am kind of thinking about changing prop size/prop pitch?

@@drakkorvladimir4012 Yup, I find the same. Lots of aileron and regular bursts of throttle are needed to add that extra aileron authority.

@@og_myxiplx Doesn't the extra throttle make it torque roll even more to the left? I haven't had the chance to try it out on my problem plane yet though.

@@drakkorvladimir4012 I'm not an expert, but there seems to be a balance there with many models. A quick burst of throttle gives you much more authority on the controls. In a hover it's only the prop that's creating the airflow after all.

I cut a hole in the fuselage, a little too small the the lipo, and just jam it in there...

I’m not Martin but I have a plane like that. At that size they use a 2212-1050kv brushless, on a 30A ESC, 10x4.7 APC propeller. They’re all in the RC Factory page for the plane, you can look it up. Safe flying, buddy.

Yeah, sounds like you are running too much pitch, probably increase the diameter and drop the pitch, will become way more manageable

Hi James, I totally see your angle. As mentioned in the video, my replacement servo choice is very much over the top, and for most is totally unnecessary. That aside, with the stock gear it is a relatively inexpensive model considering the fun it can provide. The stock setup uses almost no-brand gear so is as cheap as you can get for the size... The airframe is more expensive than Depron, but take into account your time to cut, paint and build a Depron model (I have been there too!), calculate it a couple of times as Depron usually doesn't "bounce back" too well, and it isn't that much different... Either way, as long as it flys and you can have fun with it, doesn't matter what size, material or brand it is, just go fly. Happy landings!

The hi-v Corona servos with metal gears are about 7-10 bucks and I swear by them. I feel like for a foamy, spending more than 15 bucks on servos is wasting the money.
