@@Akynam That's not hard. Your auto is super slow. If you can't do three buttons combo in league you're just never going to be successful.

@@Akynam I do understand how this works. You are confused. If this is hard for you, that is one thing. It is not hard for most players. Canceling animations will just be a result of doing this particular serie of input. You do not understand the correction I made on your comment XD. You must be very low mmr.

U used to a ult e and you would actually move foward, now it just cancels the animation

I had been thinking about this topic for quite a while, and while you are most definetly correct, these way of "Skipping" most of the time it takes to use an Ability or an Attack has become core part of the ability to play any champion basically, even Sharpshooters do this, kiting perfectly basically consists in chaining attacks by canceling the end part of the attack by Moving and restarting the animation, this works very well on characters who have quick attack startups.

Also, I really don't like animation canceling, as you said, it cancels a Main part of a character whole kit of abilities, but imagine, if we couldn't animation cancel we couldn't even do Auto-attack into *Boosted* Auto-attack, resetting the timer of the Attack and effectively attacking at double the usual speed. While that isn't a Bug at all, since Resetting the Auto-attack Timer is a core component of some abilities, it still count as Animation cancel.

From a league of legends article in 2017 (by riot games): “Riven was designed to play like a character from a fighting game-with lots of combos and fast movements-and allowing her to cancel animations fit into that gameplay pattern.” So my question is, have you really hated a game mechanic so much that you deluded yourself into believing it was a bug and not an intended mechanic without bothering to fact check yourself? If you’ve played other games, you’d understand that animation cancels are part of a lot of them. Admittedly, league certainly has had unintended animation cancels. Rivens e and q were designed to be able to be animation cancelled, but her auto attacks were not. They kept it in the game, however, by balancing other aspects of her kit. Riot has occasionally changed or removed old animation cancels, but to claim that a well known game mechanic that is a part of a ton of games is simply unintended bugs is laughable to put it mildly. Animation cancels are part of a bigger system, and that system is balanced accounting for the power that animation cancels can grant certain champs when done correctly.

@@hehe13619 in the development of Riven before her release these were buggs. The designer at the time said it in an interview but because they couldnt fix them in time they decided to embrace them and keep them as parts of her kit. While i agree that some animation cancels have become core gameplay in the game and the whole game is balanced around them (like Auto attack resets and kitting) many champion abilities are problematic. For example Illaois abilities dont match with the hitbox displayed to the enemy .. that is a problem. Same with champs like riven when you see her starting an animation of one spell but cancels 2 other spells into that animation its a problem. Most experienced players know what's going on but i dont consider it good game design. Btw this is a fascinating conversation and you make some great points nice talking with you dude
