THE ULTIMATE HOMEMADE VEGAN PIZZA! 🍕

Crystal and I make some of the most delicious pizza's we have ever had. We even make the dough from scratch! We used the recipe on the back of the yeast packets we bought. Fun fact: Fleischmann in German means meat man! But there's no meat on these pizzas!
Pizza dough recipe (for a 12" pizza, I doubled this recipe in the video which is why my pizza is massive):
1 3/4 cup to 2 3/4 cup flour (I used a mix of all purpose and whole wheat flour, Crystal used a gluten free flour blend)
1 envelope yeast (we used the fleishmann brand pizza yeast)
1 1/2 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup very warm water
3 tablespoons oil
pizza sauce and toppings of your choice
preheat oven to 425F
1. combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, and oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well blended, about 1 minute.
2. gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms. It will still be slightly sticky to touch.
3. knead dough ball in floured surface until smooth and elastic, and press into a greased pizza pan
4. add sauce and toppings and bake on Botton rake for approx. 12-15 minutes!

Okay, I am loving how realistic you two make being vegan. You two eat so many beautiful whole foods BUT you also have fun and enjoy some convenience occasionally. Screw the wheat flour, it's POISON! ALL GMO and they don't even allow it into Japan and other Asian countries! Japanese scientists did a long term study of our GMO Wheat and other plants and determined it was very harmful to our health, and would cause heart disease, diabetes, dementia, Alzheimers, obesity, basically all the ills America is now facing in epidemic fashion! that was over 20 yrs ago!@@Simnettnutrition

I grew up in New York where I helped make pizza dough, kneading it, watching it rise under a towel, and then watching my Italian father toss pizza over his head in the kitchen of his restaurant. Right? I was yelling at the screen. But of course... I know how to make yeast breads and pizza dough. I like shows better when the host actually knows what they are doing as opposed to learning from a package. And you don't need enough oil to clog the arteries of a small city. Not healthy...yuck!

Vegans aren't allowed to talk about the victims of plant agriculture (unless it's a cherry picked reference to a study sponsored by the plant-ag industry) because it exposes their own hypsocrisies (and of course, don;t forget that AY and Avi say that organic veg isn't vegan) and the vast amount of environmental destruction caused by pesticides, rodenticides and synthetic fertilisers - definitely don't talk about that stuff - only talk about the ruminant farming which is the worlds only hope in regenerating the vast amount of soil degradation - yeh, just virtue signal about those animals and tell us how unneccessary they are for our health based on no evidence whatsoever... ... . . . .. .. ..

@@craggerrs who do you think the majority of those crops are grown for - Farm animals and you conveniently left out all the pollution that comes from the raising and transportation and slaughter of those farm animals. If you really want to eat meat and you're concerned about the environment then by a hunting rifle and get your own animals in the wild. Nice try with your pitch for the meat and dairy industry. They are still responsible for more pollution and environmental degradation and deforestation than the plant agriculture industry.

Is flour a whole food? If yes you just leave off the cheese and add a sprinkle of toasted, blitzed up cashews, nooch, and garlic powder instead. Or more hummus. Or make a spicier pizza sauce. Cheese on pizza is really just habit.

To be completely honest, I stopped watching your videos because they were on the too healthy side, if that makes sense. Too many ex "vegans" were all about being super healthy and never eating anything fun, and I didn't want to see you go that route. So, I am happy that one of your videos popped up in my feed (your trying thanksgiving roasts one), and now I am binging these fun recipe videos you are making with Crystal. Don't get me wrong, I am all about eating healthy, but having balance is key, and I am so happy to see you both making pizza with store bought vegan cheese, vegan mock meats and gluten!! You are showing others that veganism doesn't have to be some militant vegetable and fruit only lifestyle, there can be a healthy balance 😊 Crystal's skin is glowing! 🤣 are you sure you needed 2 pacs of yeast for the amount of flour? Usually it is 1 pack for 1 kg of flour. And you need to leave the dough for at least an hour to raise.Oh and Xantam gum is to substitute gluten, not sure if flax can actually do the same

Happy birthday Derek!!! 🥳🥳🥳 The pizzas look great! Hummus on pizza is really good, I had it before (but added small “balls” of hummus here and there, rather than spread it all around). You are amazing guys, as always!
