Thanks for watching Jay. I agree but also for productivity purposes as well especially with large file transfers. Plug in the drive and forget about it.
I feel like there aren't many unique Synology videos these days but this is the definition of it! Never thought to set up anything like this but really enjoyed it, great video, Tony!
Hi Frank. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your kind words. Most folks will say I am “unique” lol. Seriously though, coming from you means a lot. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
You just made my day. I was just contemplating my approach to doing this. I have an atem extreme iso with a hub and two drives for recordings. connected to each drive is a usb switch connecting the drives to my synology and the hub. this allows me to switch between both devices so that I can always have a drive on the atem for recording while I ingest the footage. In theory I can now add this to my workflow for atem recording while I backup and share a project from the other drive. Thank you.
Thx for watching and very happy to hear you can incorporate this into your existing workflow. Appreciate you and thanks for taking the time to share a comment.
Thanks for watching Jeremy. Agreed, I do too. Even though I focused on the Media professional, this can be used for IT data transfer, digital print media etc.
This is so cool. I didn’t know Synology supported this. With multiple videographers on our team ingesting footage, this would be perfect. Question: is there a notification I can send to Slack or email when the copy from USB copy is complete assuming the videographer is not logged into a computer?
Hello and thanks for watching. I’m glad you like the video. Great question by the way. That is one i’ll have to go back and do a little research to figure out if it can be done.
