been using the Obsidian Pros since I got my ULX. Really enjoy them on my Skypad definitely add a lot of control without losing a ton of speed. Probably gonna be my forever mouse skate unless they stop making them.
Hello man, thanks for the video. I have gpx2. Do you recommend obsidian dot or normal skates or any other skates? I have artisan hayate otsu fx mid xl black mousepad. I want speed and also enough control to hold my aim when I flick in the game Rainbow six siege. Also, you have mentioned you didn't like the texture of cicada that I was wondering which one is it, wings 2? Standard version you liked is wings 1? Thanks.
I open up youtube and out loud I said "hold up new skate vid" honestly I look forward to every upload. Such high quality vids I can only dream of making some day.
I appreciate the kind words but don't sell yourself short. You make great vids and if you have the goal of improving 1 thing for each video you make, you'll improve and grow really quickly.
im tempted to try some dot skates, i really liked small skates everytime mice had some on em, ec2b had small ones and i played really well with it im on a cordura mpc 450 rn with a gpx im not sure if i should go for jade or obsidian, i love speed, but also want skates that will last me longer
i play on an xten control and play tac shooters with an x2h mini, would you recommend obsidian pros or jades? would love to hear your input. For reference xten control would be similar to soft zero
Yeah cicada wings are absolutely incredible . i bought 20 DIY packages from them, as i had to spend 140$ to get free shipping. under that shipping would cost like 70 bucks. They are on sale for 7.99. Insanely thin and grippy stuff. This is one mouse accessoiry every gamer should try.
What would you recommend for val obsidian dots with a hien soft or a zero soft with obsidian dots planning on using obsidian cuz i play both tac and non tac fps so I switch from cloth to glass
Dude its crazy this came up on my feed, i just ordered a pack of 40 jade dots and the jade g203 skates, as well as some cicada v2 grip :) im just hoping they dont wear out too fast!
@@skte it doesnt go off with nothing, maybe if you got them like 1 day on maybe with alcohol can clean it but if you have on the mouse 1-2 weeks+, u cant clean it its just bad i stopped buying cicadas 2.0 bc of that
@skte ah, I got you man. For some reason, in the video from the back, it looked like an ergo mouse I've never seen. I use a cordura pad the red obsidians you think would be the best for them? I prefer faster skates.
Good thing theres 40 dots in one pack. That would last you much longer than any other larger skate option. Its still insanely overpriced for pieces of plastic, but definitely the best price among skates.
these are the currently best option for skates in my opinion. only way to make it worth the shipping costs is by buying in bulk but these are cheaper than corepads or tiger ices so itll have to work for now
Obsidians feel scratchier and slower than normal PTFE and Obsidian Pro are even scratchier and slower than normal Obsidians, I've only used them on the Skypad 3.0. I wonder if jades are any better
It's crazy how much faster the Jades are over Corepads, BTL, Tiger Ice or anything else I've tried. I just put a set on my Lamzu mini and it feels like I have glass skates. I ordered a set for every mouse I own they make skates for. As well as a few dot and donut packs. Over $100. Fair warning though they're super fast. On my Raiden and Shinnenkai V2 they're almost too fast
@@nordicsaint1 Yeah they slow down a tad but nothing extreme and they're so fast to begin with it doesn't even matter. They make Tiger ice feel extremely slow. It's pretty crazy
@thinkforyourself5672 do the donuts scratch less on soft pads or is it same as putting 2 dots skates on each corner? and are the jade full skates much slower than jade dots?
@@corvusgaming1577, I haven't really noticed any scratching issues with the donuts but I haven't used the Jade donuts that much. I've been mainly using the Obsidian donuts on my glass and ceramic pads. The jade dots are faster than the most of the regular Jade sets but it depends on how many dots you add. Obviously 8 dots will be slower than 4.. Also depends on what mouse. Like thr Sora V2 had super small skates so it's not much of a difference between those and dots but say the XM2WE 9r the Superlight2 have massive skates so you'll feel a difference there
I have obsidians on a skypad 3.0 and they are really good or just okay depending on what you want. Most importantly I'd say, they are more durable which is good on glass, but they also slow the mouse down the slightest bit to give you more control which could be good depending on the person. My gripe with them is thag they are also slightly "scratchy" both in feel and noise, but its really the feel that gets me. I don't really think this is a problem with the product per se, but rather a byproduct of harder, more durable feet. My main mouse right now is a lamzu thorn with stock skates which I switched to from a gpx with obsidian dots and honestly the lamzu skates are shockingly smooth in comparison as long as i keep the pad clean. So much more enjoyable for me personally as texture feel is an important aspect for me. So it really depends on what you want/what you want to give up to get that.
very well said! obsidians are meant to be more durable for glass pads, however if you want something quieter, try the SkyPAD skates whenever they're in stock (they work really well on all glass pads including the Superglide, Empress, and GLAZE).
If only shipping to Canada wasn't more than the price of the skates themselves 😔 Doesn't get much better through their authorized retailers either. Good video though! Convinced me try a set or two if I ever get the chance to pick them up.
they're going to be slower due to being hardened pfe. i would suggest going with jades if you dont use glass and want something faster, but yes, obsidians will work
@@sktewhat abt the jades on something like the kurosun, artisan raiden, otsu and hien. generally just cloth pads, should I still worry abt them wearing down in a couple of weeks?
nah but i shouldve made this more clear. its mainly on glass pads where they wear down faster. on cloth pads they last much longer, but on average still have a shorter lifespan than tiger ice or corepads because those skates aren't quite as soft @@astral9807
@@skteupdate: i got btl dots and they where decent. i opted out for xraypad jades and an akko glass mousepad since its cheapest and an almost near identical superglide clone. Good idea or no? i put 1 on each corner of my beast mini
I’ve been eyeing their skates since I’ve heard about them but I’m just lazy :/ still no company that offers customizable pads that are actually good quality but now grips and skates?!
ive tried all of the popular options and in my opinion, these are the best on the market. theyre cheap, last a while and are a great quality. xraypad is the artisan of skates, making corepads and tiger ice feel pretty mid in comparison
