54 years old here. Just changed my Steam Deck 512 GB LCD to the 1 TB OLED version and I won't regret it one bit! My son will get my old 512 GB LCD version as a birthday gift. Love the Steam Deck! It's the ultimate portable gaming solution. I've been gaming since I got my Commodore VIC 20 in 1983. Next to the Commodore 64 and Commodore AMIGA the Steam Deck is hands down the best gaming platform I've ever used and I've owned a lot of gaming platforms to say the least. And emulation is just so good on it! You're definitely never too old for gaming! 😊

I recently got the older version of the Steam Deck after being greatly impressed following a friend letting me have a go on his. I got a 2nd hand 64gb version from CEX after the price went down, (due to the OLED model being released), and have upgraded the storage with a 512gb micro SD card. After being tempted ever since they first came out, (but thinking I'd never use it enough), I've barely put it down & think it could well be my favourite piece of new tech since the PSVR. I've mainly been playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown - a long-time favourite of mine. Highly recommended if you like turn based strategy games and you can get the game, its' sequel and all the DLC for both really cheap these days. Good video by the way & good luck with the channel!

54 here and bought the Oled 1TB version a month or so ago. Like you I had a break for more then 3 years and didn't play anything anymore. Somehow I was done with gaming and was bored and lost interest for a long period of time. Last year I picked it up again. Since I have my SD Oled I haven't touched my PC. 😎 The SD is so much more comfy and relaxing then crawl behind your PC. Loved it right from the beginning. Such an anazing device! Right now I'm into emulation with Emudeck. Go check it out, you will enjoy it. 😎 Some good games I really like and enjoy on the Deck; Mad Max Horizon Zero Dawn The Gunk Streets of Rage 4 Ori and the Blind Forest Resident Evil 2 Remake Shadow of the Tomb Raider Call of Juarez Gunslinger Redeemer Huntdown Dead Space Remake All run very well on the Deck. You might have missed some great games in the "Roguelite" genre in the last 5 years: Hades and Dead Cells. Both great for the deck. Ori and the Blind Forest (and sequel: Will o the wisps) are metroidvania games that take advantage of the HDR oled screen. 2023 was one of the best years for gaming ever, so there's plenty to pick from there. The Game Awards gave the game "Sea of Stars" the best indie game of 2023, which itself is a homage to Chrono Trigger. If you don't mind mucking around, getting emulation running via Emu Deck is a worthwhile thing to do, as it opens up every console up to PS3/Xbox 360 that can be emulated. The Steam Deck is really the greatest console of all time when you factor emulation in.

The Witcher 3 sir, it has great replay ability and a very rich story. It runs great on the steam deck as well.

The past few years alone have had some phenomenal titles, I've had a big indie itch this year too. Enshrouded has been my go to game lately, but it's not compatible with steam deck just yet.

Give forza horizon a go if u want older game which I still play left 4 dead 1 or 2, cyber punk and portal 1 or 2 Edited: Also you can emulate on it and get a lot of games

After the first Steam Deck had no vibration I wouldn’t buy the Oled Steam Deck like vibration isn’t important even the Nintendo Switch has vibration were not in the 80’s anymore where there was no vibration

I stopped gaming when I was 57. I am 60 now and because of videos such as yours reviewing the Steam Deck. I am planning to purchase one and get back into gaming. I am retired and have lots of time on my hand.
