Thanks for putting this together. I'm new to all of this, and maybe you can help me. I have a Marshall DSL1CR (1-watt) that is great for low-volume practicing, but it's too loud for late at night. The amp has an "emulated out" (with cab sim) for headphones. The problem is that the sound isn't that great. Maybe I could get a better quality if I plug the headphones into a DAC/Amp combo or a headphone amp. So I'm wondering if this can be a solution: Guitar -> DSL1CR -> (using emulated out) Slow Gear headphone amp -> Headphones Do you think that could do the trick? Thanks again!

Man, I really dig your channel. You've helped me a ton learning songs/parts for Sundays. I am very grateful for your videos. Forgive what may be a dumb question or something I didn't follow in the video, but are you saying that I could plug my phone into the AUX input, plug in my headphones and be able to practice while hearing both the record and my guitar through my headphones?

Thanks for the encouragement man, so glad that the videos have helped! Yep that's correct! You can plug your phone into the aux input and hear your guitar + the song through your headphones. You can also individually adjust your guitar's volume + the song's volume to dial things in just right. Super cool piece of gear!

Would you be able to tell me if the larger volume knob affects the L/R out or just the headphones out? I’d like to run this on my board but don’t want to have to constantly worry what volume I’m giving FOH from this and an amp sim.

Yeah good question! It just goes to the headphones out. It actually creates a pretty cool way for you to route your in ear mix. You can go Aux In with your IEM mix, and then monitor directly out of the headphone out, that way you can use the big knob to control how hot your own guitar is in the mix. pretty cool feature!

There doesn't seem to be any way to actually buy this. The website doesn't sell it and directed you to a reverb shop, and the reverb shop doesn't sell it. Any idea what's going on? There's nothing else like it on the market, it's perfect.

Hey Tomas, they are tough to get because Charlie hand-builds all of these in batches. Are you on instagram? I'd recommend following Slowgear Electronics and sending them a DM asking when any more will be available. He'll be able to help from there!

Merry Christmas!! I have one question. I recently got the Slow gear electronics headphone amp and I was wondering can I connect my laptop and phone at the same time so I can record through my phone for a cover and have my laptop play track or music and I'm sure my in ears go where it says phones??

Hey Jordy! Yeah I'm sure you could make that work! You should be able to go into the Aux In with your computer to play along to the tracks, and then go out of the "phones" jack to record into your phone. That's exactly how I was able to capture the audio in this demo, except I did it the opposite way. I played the song from my phone into the Aux In, and recorded out of the "phones" jack into my computer

@@SamWittek I don't know if I need some special audio splitter? I connected my phone to irig and from irig to audio splitter to headphone amp and then the other audio splitter I connect my in ears, I can hear everything good through my in ears, guitar sounds great and track sounds great as well but when I record through my phone, the sound is low, I turn up the volume to hear on my phone all the way of what I just recorded and it’s low and if I remove the irig and just connect my phone to audio splitter to headphone amp. I’m sure I’m doing some thing wrong here lol

It doesn't do any sort of amp emulation or reverb sounds, it'll just monitor whatever you're sending into it!

How is the quality of the headphone output? I currently use an ACS1 headphone output to practice and it doesnt sound too far off from my recording, so wondering how wide the gap is between if you hooked up an ampless rig to a PA and compared the output on the headphones?

Great question! I haven't tried personally so I can't speak too much to how close that comparison would be, however I felt like the headphone out sounded super clean. In the playing portion of this video, I connected that directly to the headphone out so you can get an idea of how that sounds.

A drummer could send a click track through the aux to help him keep time. This is also useful with a mixer. Too bad it is out of stock.

There are a TON of guitarists out there who use a direct to FOH rig for work/gigs and need an easy way to rehearse or learn songs quickly and can NOT run around carrying a small mixer (why on earth would you travel with a small mixer on a gig?) this thing is brilliant. I’ve gotten a tremendous amount of ‘day before’ or even same day calls to do gigs and would LOVE this thing. This is amazing @pinstripepedals
