You are 1000% right you could go about it practice like some other coach channels. The hands on tho the hands on in terms of actual processing of what’s happening and explaining what you were thinking in the time really helps so much more giving specific examples of team fights we have literally all been in 100+ times and going through your motions.
Last comment, Killing it how articulate you are, i would love to get this type of breakdown from clips where your team is coming back or behind in a fight that's gets turned around
Amazing video Sam, really opened up eyes about such simple yet impactful mistakes I've been making A LOT. For the next guide i really hope you cover Genji. While I'm not a fan of a hero personally I know that most of dps players love the hero but don't know how to play him (neither do I), especially they almost always misuse deflect. So Genji for sure next, while he's viable in comp lol. And personally would like to see Ashe guide, especially positioning on her. But Genji first though
Best guide. I swapped my primary and secondary fire and I literally couldn't stop winning with these new settings! All the other advice was super useful and didn't see in other guides. Thanks Samito!
Small Tip: Getting 100 charge on your railgun also increases the size of the shot. So if you’re at 90, sometimes it’s better to try to get that extra 10 charge if you’re looking for an easier one shot. Great video, Sam
Hey Sam! This was a sick vid dude! Loved it! I definitely find myself in sub optimal positions so thanks for the kick up the rear to think more about that. Also noticed just yesterday that OWL players save their slide all the time. So simple yet us mortals never think about it. This was so easy to follow and your videos are top notch bud. Keep up the good work! Defo agree Genji next. I've upvoted. Let's also hope a Doomfist guide becomes relevant in Season 2 😂
A complete video essay genji guide after the nerf would be ‘Don’t go genji’ It’s the same guide he’s had for years with the exception of early seasons and the two weeks they buffed him 🥴
i recently joined my university's Overwatch 2 team as DPS and have been looking at guides to get better. this is one of the best ones i have found, great work. i really loved you going over the past games you had and commenting during one. it really showed the thought process and i learned some things that i need to do to get better. thank you for the content!
i remember when u used to play combo on badlion dude ur first ow vid as hanzo on numbani in like 2016 is what made me switch from MC to Ow so much love
Man you said it perfectly consistency is the key and I think is why I can’t get out of high gold. Some games I’m hitting every charge, getting picks, positioning perfect to stay alive, goes 40+ Elims less than 5 deaths. Other games I’m feeding, skimming charge shots then I get greedy and die. I don’t think I really realize what’s going on the games I’m popping off in that’s letting me pop off be it the enemy team comp/skill/coordination or my own team or just my own habits. Sojourn is so fun though I can’t put her down !
Great guide, thank-you. It would be interesting to have a 'weakness/counter' segment at the end for characters too, like, how would you counter your Sojourn play?
Echo next. Genji has enough love. I also would like to know if you go into fights with a plan. It seems like you just see something and do it so quick. When you are running back from spawn are you thinking, "I am going to go here and try this" or is it just always seeing how things play out?
you will get used to her primary. Don't worry about it that much, because your biggest weapon is secondary. It's a projectile, but a fast one, so almost like soldier most of the time, especially against ground targets.
Ok here are my questions: 1. Can I subit my match codes for a vod review? 2. Can you make a Dva positioning vid? 3. Can you make a Bastion positioning vid? Pleeeeeease :3 ty
I would like a Genji guide. I’m decent with my combos but I’m a scrub when it comes to fast and efficient dragon blades. I also have a hard time with perfecting sensitivity so I can do the dash- 180- shuriken- melee would like advice on that too Samito
On console being on Lb jump Rb slide and then put snare on A it feels most comfortable to use. I'm gonna try swapping the triggers tho see if it helps like it seems to on mouse.
I play on console and I tried flipping the triggers for a few days. I liked the concept, but it just felt kinda uncomfortable aiming the full auto. Is it a just me thing? Have any of you guys on controller tried it? Has it gone well for you?
instead of using recordings, why dont you use the match replay system to show different angles since you kept saying you wish you could show us stuff just off screen
Yep, when you're in the settings for controls, you can click change hero on the right. Select a hero, change some setting, and you'll see an asterisk on their portrait (you can see it in the video when he shows the settings).
played a game of sojojurn didnt say crap to enemy team it was qp and enjoyed and just won and their reaper typed " oh im sojourn i have no freinds i use my railgun and go brrr with mercy all around just shooting no skill all trash". she is so fun
When i play soujorn i have feeling of playing soldier76 with helix rocket XD i missed every headshot because i use my right click as a projectile skill. My english is bad, please don't judge me
My friend somehow is gm1 and he doesn’t even try that hard he has only played 18 games this season he doesn’t try hard at all but he so good somehow even when he has weird settings and he has vibration on everyone thinks he’s Smurfing when they see he only has 300 hours into the game
This guide is now depressing. I heard sojourn was nerfed but when i went to the practice range to find out how much it was truly sad... 60 to headshot one kill? Now not even a fully charged riffle will one shot kill with a headshot. it will leave them barely alive so u have to gun a little to finish. I mean u can still 1 shot tracers tho but not 200 guys...
You are a youngin, far from washed . Try dealing with this game at 47. Yea.....hard stuck bronze. Only bad thing about it is hearing the mentality of the average Bronze player down there and knowing that incremental improvements start getting gate kept from me due to that. I know my mechanics lack- IM 47! However I know more about the play and setting up better than Most bronze. However trying to break that glass ceiling into higher ranks in near impossible when 9 out of 10 teams are in full CoD mode of perpetually stagger running in.
As much as love sam, there is a lot of better educational content from a lot of great coaches. I think of spilo, kajor or iostux as some of them. This guy is really entertaining and good to explain his train of thoughts but i feel like this is not how you improve as a player. His guides are too confused and his principles arent really clear and really situational. For example, he should've put more emphasis on angles and timing on engage and e usage. Knowing what he thinks is interesting but really hard to mimic from a 20 min guide. Anyways he's kinda all over the place. Focusing on some key concepts and showing prepared examples would be better. Still, nice job on the grind Sam!
