You do awesome builds. As a electrical engineer I take joy in watching wiring on this tiny boat. You have done well making it nice. My OCD would look much like that. I have a label make that uses a app on my iPhone and the labels are really good in industrial setting on motor wiring and control wiring. Epson LabelWorks LW-PX400 Portable Label Printer. It cost a few more dollars then others but is a tough and batteries last years with use. I dream of having a 20’ jon flat bottom as wide as I can get it with a very basic build with less then what most would want. I’m a simple fishermen, typical on change lures 3 times during a trip. Fishing pole x2, small tackle box, net, bucket for fish and to sit on. My boats in the past had a lights, trolling motor, with no wheel a main motor, bilge pump, and only front seat but if I get my 20’er I’ll build it up some like you do. Thank you for the awesome videos and how to do stuff right.

i’m in the process of restoring a 1987 four winns. i’ve stripped it down to the bare hull and i’m currently in the process of putting the stringers and deck on. i’ve been watching all of your wiring videos over and over again so i can learn how to do it myself. i’m completely new to all of this. this helps a ton. keep it up bro

nice job. one thing i'll add is add enough slack so if you have to pull it out you can. another way of doing that is running a terminal strip as a connection point between the switch panel and boat wirings(though that introduces another connection point to have a problem with)

Nice! I went with the Blue Sea switch and fuse box combo. It's all in one unit and the fuses have a rubber seal. You should check them out if you haven't already. They're kinda high though..

Those are called plastic wire clamps, in most cases, both PWCs and zip ties in black are UV rated. Use the Velcro ties for assembling the harness but use the zip ties for the final job. Zip ties are also available with screw mounts

Very. Nice. Thin wall conduit is preferred when possible. The ability to pull new or additional wires throughout your boat makes life future proofed. Loved to see you labeling wires. A real pro approach. The drop in panel is great. Where are your 50 amp main breakers and main bus bars? Great job. I hope mine turns out as well.

As an electrician, I like the grommets. We never rest wires on bare metal edges, and we are wiring stationary buildings. I can only imagine that the jostling a boat goes through will lead to failed insulation.

Just a suggestion you should use black zip ties. They are outdoor and is resistant. I know you are wire tying in the sunlight but they should hold up longer is only reason I suggest it. Good work man

Nice panel and layout. You should make a wire convolution t shirt 1: a form or shape that is folded in curved or tortuous windings ie:the convolutions of the wires

Looks nice, creative, in the future you may consider using orange for your dc+, as per abyc color coding. On a small boat not so much of an issue, but if you happen to have an inverter for ac onboard, its help with confusion and safer.. Cheers!

I would encourage ppl to cut their cable ties flat, cutting on an angle leaves a very sharp point that later can cut your arm when trying to access those hard to reach places. If anyone’s been cut by one you know how much it hurts

Which in my line of work we call those booby traps! Cause you stickn your arm in a bunch of wires and come out with a bloody surprise. FLUSH CUTS EVERYONE! Not expensive and very well worth it. Plus makes your work look better!

Hey, nice work! 👍 May i have some suggestions? You can find some “label beans” in electric supplies shop, they were use to label control box with hundreds of wire, these rubber beans come in all colors and every of them have a letter A~Z, 0~9, and most important, dirt cheap. Say, all your fish finder wire are using yellow beans with “FF”, water pump using red and label “PP”. That makes a lot difference, especially if you have to troubleshooting the wires at sea, for obvious reason you may not have lights from battery. Also, may i ask if you will use somthing call “magnesium tablet” on your boats? Some boat owners tells me that it is a must when you have different metals in a marine environment, it will create a weak circuit and rust pretty quick. I have check and find that some outboard motors do have such tablets slot for sacrificial purpose. Are you going to “ground” them to your hulk as well? Or leave it separated?

Just a question did you wire your fish finders and bulge pumps onto the same fuse block? I have three finders (nothing large), a 2xbuldge pumps and an aerorator is that fine to run on one fuse box? Do only the Leds effect the finders? Thanks again for the amazing videos

Those plastic clips are called P-clamps. You can also get wire zip ties that have a loop attached to screw it down to be more secure. So kill two birds one stone. Also, that stuff that you use for conduit is known as Flexo-PET and is also what they use to make rod socks or rod covers.

Use black zip ties not white. black tip ties are uv resistant and won’t get brittle over time on the water

It doesn’t matter. As long as your positive and negative are connected to the main terminals every positive should have power and every negative should have ground. Just make sure you’re using the correct size fuse for each positive terminal.
