What a super high quality video, well done. One thing of note, in my testing, the lav included with Deity performs like a $130+ plus lav mic. That is the thing that has really jumped out at me, it’s hard to believe it’s included in the kit.

Hey thanks so much! Yea, I’ve been really impressed with the Deity kit. The accessories, the quality of the lav, the locking lav. Impressive stuff for $169! Something I didn’t include in this video but worth noting, I found a huge sound difference between having the pack clipped frontwards or backwards. Backwards (with just the clip showing) sounded way better for some reason. Give it a try! :)

Oh the puns! I'm a solo shooter so I only need one receiver, I also love that Deity has the analogue limiter, plus the price point leans me towards the Deity. (and it sounds great)

Is there any version of BoomX-D PRO with one transmitter and one receiver? It's really nice if they still maintain the whole accessories with maybe D1? version, but in a lower price

Lol! They are pretty cool man! They definitely don’t sound as nice as my shotgun. I really notice it when I jump back to desk setups, but the convenience for vlogs is insane. You forget you’re mic’d up and you never have to worry about speaking towards the camera.

Thanks for your review. And the jokes! 😄 My favourite was the one about the job that didn't pan out. I just didn't understand your conclusion. You said you might favour the Deity in the "Best Sound". The Comica is the "Best Value". You think the Deity is the best in the "Fewest Issues" category. Then you say that your overall favourite is the Rode!!! According to you, the Deity has best sound and fewer issues yet you favour the Rode. And there is another important advantage of the Deity over the Rode that you didn't mention: The Deity comes in a very handy protective case whilst the Rode comes in a cheap pouch. Literally all wireless kits over £100 but Rode have a protective case. Protective cases for wireless kits are so important that I see them as crucial, not an accessory. I can put the Deity case anywhere in my backpack , knowing that the kit is protected, the case is easy to reach and everything is organised inside in the case. There is no mess . You simply can't organise things in the cheap Rode pouch. I think there is a lot of bias favouring Rode mics . I think Rode is the filmic pro of microphones: Overestimated.

Great points, and I think you’re right about people obsessing over Røde mics in the film community. My background is in studio recording so I bring a very different perspective. I said that while Røde has great quality, it’s too expensive and offers the least amount of inclusions -to your point. It’s definitely not my top pic. The Wireless Go II would be, simply because of the built in recording. That’s why I mentioned that if Diety had recording internally, it would be my top pick. Sorry that wasn’t clear

You went from discussing, in detail, how terrible the Comica sounds & how it required significantly more time in post to get the quality out of it you wanted to calling it the "best value". Do you not value sound quality or your own time/energy? Yes, it comes with a lot of accessories, because they clearly prioritized that over the actual function of the unit. I don't see how the value of not having to spend all that time in post doesn't stack up against a bunch of cheap accessories for the Comica to win best value. It's not even like it's significantly less expensive than the other options. If it were, say, $50, then yeah, fine, that's value in the same way a Behringer XM8500 is a good value. But at these prices, the only way it constitutes a better value is if you don't consider your time or quality audio to valuable in a wireless audio system.

The issues with the sound quality only pertain to the internally recorded audio. Stacking them up fairly, the Comica is the only one that can record internally, so I was only looking at the transmission quality, which was very comparable. If I needed a device to record on, there are other options. That said, I believe Comica has addressed these issues in a more recent version.
