my first game in hell let loose i was in a trench with 3 german guys and one jumped out and got vaporised by a tiger tank shell instantly and the other guy yells 'NOO FREDRICK!!!!' in the thickest german accent ive ever heard, then he turns to me and said 'you must help him he is dying!' and his friend shouted 'it is too late for him my friend he is gone' and i hear Fredrick himself say 'it is okay there is a respawn point right there' (yes there was a garrison literally 15 meters away) but somehow he we all ran up into the line of fire and revived him. absolute madness

I play this game often, there's a small but loyal fanbase. While the same names pop up often, the ones who talk recognise you. There's an Irish guy called Lt Dan who's just one of the many many Lt Dan's in HLL but he recognises me every time and I love him for that

HLL is very realistic in the sense that it takes almost a full 24 hours to capture one objective and if you stand up at any point you die

One of my favorite things in this is doing an armor crew with my friends. We were in an M8 LAC and absolutely demolished a whole platoon, just gore and gibs flying around everywhere. As we ran away, we got tagged by a tank. I started screaming to out teammates "DEAR GOD, HELP US!!!" then we got stuck on a trench. I yelled "NO, PLEASE!" Then we just exploded and the reactions were great.

I'm right there with you man. Best gaming community I've ever been a part of and I like to think I play a small role in fostering it with my tutorials and new player friendly server. Nice video.

I just visited France and was in Sainte-Mère-Église and other places in normandy this game is probably one of the most faithful adaptations of ww2 settings. It comes alive with the real amazing people who enjoy those types of things. I got the game to play with friends in 2021 and it's been a blast whenever I get the every few month kick to binge play it

If i were to name a WW2 game that was better if not the same, it would be Post Scriptum (now Squad 44.) It aims to showcase some really unknown theatres, like Greece for example. Also its developers have been revitalised from the dead and are back at it.

America thinking they won WWII has to be one of the biggest toxic traits they have as a nation. If you take any of the countries opposing Germany out of the war, the outcome would have been a lot different. The creator of this video likens America to the underdog kid who "walked up to the biggest, meanest bully on the playground and promptly beat the s*** out of him in front of everyone". However it was more like a fair fight between several underdogs and a couple of bullies, and then the addition of another kid joining in tipped the scales in favour of the underdogs.

4:58 that's the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard about this game. T17 sucks, doesn't have any clear direction of what they want to do with this game, they add 1 map per forever (they keep adding shitty paid DLC skins ofc), they take forever to fix major bugs, they've added a skirmish mode that NOBODY plays (I've not seen a single PC server rocking it), they have not touched armor gameplay in any way, they have not touched artillery/recon gameplay loop in any way, and there's so much more that I don't even bother to type.

I started playing this game some months and even though I usually don't play with a mic since I like to blast this game through my speakers it has to be said that this game has a great community. The people on mic are always extremely polite to each other and I have yet to encounter anyone toxic.

One and a half-month playing this game, and this is coming from a person experiencing Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and TF2 community, I haven't seen such *supportive* community. Here's what they have done to me: a. Endgame chat "commend low ranks ppl" b. Squdmate giving me tricks on deploying MG (hacks on St. Mere church tower) c. a rank 200 engineer guiding me to fortify Remagen d. A rank 150 tutored me tank gunner (he didn't have other crew, and whilst on critical defense Hill 400) It creates a sense of giving back. Currently at first, I kinda irritated with non-comms newbies, but I felt guilty. After that sense I lead non-comms squad twice: 1 when I teach them defense squad (lose but they were interactive with pings), and 1 win as behind enemy line flanking squad. What a game!

Just here to politely point out that the Soviet Union was principally responsible for defeating Nazi Germany, though the US did still play an important role, and it was definitely the US that was principally responsible for defeating Imperial Japan. And while this was absolutely a moral war for the US to fight, it almost certainly would have joined the war against Japan and Germany regardless of any of ideological justification. The US does not tolerate peer competitors, and will do it's best throw them onto the scrap heap of history whenever they emerge, no matter who they are or what they believe, which is why we're now seeing the US turning it's attention to China today.

Over the last 5 years, I have covered the Hell Let Loose Competitive Community, with their Matches, Tournaments and overall Events. It's a niche community, with lots of dedicated players and ex-players, trying to keep the game afloat against all odds. We'll see what the future brings for both PC and Console in HLL, but I hope it can grow. Thanks for covering our game habie!

Cool game but i heard that they made an update where they kinda destroyed the game bc it got to arcady and playerst started to stop teamplaying and instead wanted to go for kills but when i try to get information about the current state of the game i find nothing (I want to know if i should still buy it or if it has changed (To much) from when it was new)

I really get a culture shock everytime I get on an American server (I'm from Europe but I don't pick a region to avoid getting into empty lobbies.) The American server is usually more talkative but very quickly falls into the "it's so over" mindset. On the European server it's more like a "I didn't hear no bell" mindset and everybody keeps trying to fight no matter how dysfunctional the team is.

I like the game but the direction they took it after the CoD player migration made me stop playing. Still a good game but I bought it when it released on steam thinking it was going to be a squad/post scriptum alternative. Not the direction I wanted it to go but I understand the devs had to appeal to a larger more profitable market.

I still wish this game had a South East Asian server. There was a Vietnamese server before, but it was only up for a month or two. My matches average around 200 ping and it's not playable except for tanking (which is obsolete).

I want to love HLL more than I do but 2 things mainly stop me: 1. I suck at it, i'm always getting killed by some random shot from where I can't see. It's hard cause I never know where the enemy is, so I just move really slowly and get nowhere, or walk in and die quickly. And areas where it looks like there are no enemies, there are 2. Australian servers that I play on have some arseholes who are really rude, aggressive, sometimes even arguing with each other in the chat for no reason about stupid shit. Also, the devs themselves are Australian, but unlike Americans, we can't play as our own nation, it's not in the game. Apart from that, it's really good, it's a well made game for sure.

HLL is a game that needs to die, though. It WAS great, until they launched it on console, then implemented a non-verbal communication system.. Now no one talks, no one builds garrisons, medics run right over you, no one defends, recon rarely does their job.. The game is full of COD fanboys that think HLL is realistic, but cry when they play Squad 44 😂😂😂 THAT is a game that died, and came back to life because it’s better in every way.

I am old enough to have spoken to many WW2 vets decades ago as a child. Every single one of them told me "We didn't go there to save other nations, we went there to make sure that it never happens here". The last 3 generations through that all away. Hell to pay alright.

My first memory of HLL was sneaking quietly in a forest, laying down every 15 seconds and really taking my time after running and getting shot for the first 30 minutes of the game. I see two guys and they are coming right towards me. My heart is pounding in my chest, my hand is shaking on my mouse. All of a sudden they turn a sharp left, crouch running with their backs to me. I kneel up, get them in the sights of my tommy gun and let the whole clip rip into the exposed backsides. I missed every shot and one of them turned around and killed me instantly. 😢

One WW2 game that is EXTREMELY underrated is Forgotten Hope 2. It's a mod for Battlefield 2 and it is BY FAR the most historically accurate WW2 game I have ever played in my life. Not only is every single map (except for one) based on real life, but they also changed the uniforms and weapons on each map according to which military units were fighting there back then. One such example that stands out to me is a map based on Operation Cobra, where US Army soldiers wear frog camo uniforms. This is noteworthy, because back in 1944, the US Army issued a limited amount of experimental frog skin camo to a select number of units and they happened to fight during Operation Cobra. What's especially funny about that is that when I played this map as an American, I always tended to shoot at my own teammates, because I confused them for Waffen SS soldiers. Guess what, this ACTUALLY HAPPENED for the same reason, which is why this camo was never adapted in WW2 (although later)! The Omaha Beach map in this game is so well researched that you can still recognize it on Google Maps! The only map that isn't historical in FH2 is Ramelle-Neuville, which is based on the final battle in Saving Private Ryan, which is awesome as well! I swear, since playing this map, I understand what's going on in this battle much better, because I have a spacial awareness of Ramelle. Sadly, the game is dead. :(

OBSERVATION..COD has ruined any ability for that generation of entitled narcissist kids to understand team and squad play. The lack of knowledge of strategy, the inability to think ahead, play defense, build team spawns and switch roles to support the squad and team is amazing. For example: You can play a match with a good commander who is the only one building garrisons. After 50 games, people still dont see the importance of a garrison. Ive heard sqls say, we dont need one here, or trucks drive to the 1st point wout support roles. You actually want to say, how do you think one 3 man locked squad is supposed to cap against 6 squads and a tank? The lack of strategic knowledge and inability to read an evolving battefield map and anticipate enemy movements or counter them is mesmerizing.

The game does lack people who doesn't see the game as a COD copy... It is annoying to play together with such types. And the squad leaders who make SL rotation, without anyone willingly taking over. Somehow it reminds you of Post Scriptum, or Squad 44 as it has been renamed.

I play on Xbox and keep coming back to HHL. People play as a team, they’re friendly and it’s always a good time.
