Promoting the murder of an entire demographic in a country where it's not illegal to be part of that demographic, is about the stupidest thing you can do. If you publicly make hate speech, you can absolutely expect people to share your views far and wide, it's not unfair, he did it his to himself.
@@fitzgeraldparkman3727 well here’s a black opinion: leave gay people alone. if you believe homosexuality is wrong fine, but don’t say an entire demographic should be crucified based on a book that no man can live perfectly by.
What is ironic, is that in order for Jamaica to really move forward with forward thinking i believe , the state of corruption, thievery , robbery, murder etc needs to be address, most are worried about killing gays and ridding of them, which is just a scapegoat to the other major problems the country endure. Open your minds people the world at large is looking. You preach the bible when it is fitting to your hatred.. You should also preach what the bible say's about loving each and every one, gay, or not black or white .A country would never move up with this mentality ...
Shabba has every right to express his feelings, it is not a crime to express oneself, it is the freedom of each one. Just as gays express themselves Shabba has the right to express themselves
F that I never knew this I was kid back then ! He has right to believe what he wants too!!! We still love Shabba his songs continue playing in every night club I went to in the 90s
Wow , saying no to racism hasn’t even reached that level and it’s career began way before Shabba’s . Hope he get back on with his music go on and evolve!
@ 1:42 I literally started laughing! "I live by the concept of the bible." Except when your singing about all kinds of sexually explicit, premarital acts!
The whole problem is this. Christianity does not promote homosexuality it calls it a sin. It does not promote killing homosexuals simply for committing a sin. Sins is sin and Christians on a daily basis too commit sin(s). Jamaican culture on this issue is quite hypocritical. Shabba should have known better on that show that they were just baiting him. With that question simply tell them to f--k off.
Exactly!! His answer should have been "I reserve to keep my opinions to myself." Shabba thought his ego was bigger than British & American record companies. TV journalist & talk show host laid out a trap, and he fell for it.
Marc Marcello Everyone.. At some point.. Must no, They Will draw their line in the sand. You MUST choose, every man must choose a side. You won't be able to straddle forever. I promise you♡!
That would be a matter of perspective. I think that he was not well enough informed about the world, and his attitudes were not accepted and thus his career was ended on an international stage. Funny that you say that it is a form of mind control.. the same can be said of christianity.. and pedophiles are absolutely not running the world, they are just as revield in the rest of the world as in Jamaica. As to what two adult people do in their mutual consentual relationship really matters very little to me and should matter very little to everyone..
I now see why this brother Buju Banton is dying in prison. They placed an undercover on him and planted drugs on in Miami. This was the root of his problems - his belies which is very pro traditional family and strong disappointment of gay life style. From this video its now comes all together in my head. I strongly believe Buju Banton has been in their black list of Jamaican artists to be destroyed especially with his anti gay song. OMG, all this time its hasn't down on me until now. This was to set an example to Rastafarians and Jamaicans. Is like you see what we did to your heroes? OMG this is sad man.
Alfred Malam you only just realised. of course they was after buju. but what was hurting them most.was the fact he changed to Rasta so he would of been more powerful as that and they didn't want that. buju was growing even more as a name ,he's music has changed he's fans was growing, but what these guys must realise, they are in a system of music business which is run by greedy people who don't care about you as a person but only as an artist. it is sad to see. but because they are Caribbean artists talking out they don't like it and that is the western world. but American Rappers can say what they like and nothing happens to there career
Shabba didn't even record the song. Thats the crazy part. The song did in fact have very inappropriate and offensive lyrics. Meanwhile, in the 2020's we now have WAP, Throat Baby and Industry Baby music videos making millions in profit. #WhatAWorld
Shabba is a great musician and its sad that people would have a problem over some little inconsequential remark and ruin his career. he only said that homosexuals should be crucified , so what , whats wrong with that?
Shabbat i love you especially the way you dance stay strong and make more music no matter what you are definitely mine ICON Love you / you are the greatest
Jesus Christ and the Ten Commandments both say people should not hate and kill. Yet people like you decide to ignore that and look for some obscure biblical nonsense by people no one's ever heard of to justify hatred and murder. You need to check your conscience.
@@tedbrown9298 ignore what? Apparently you read line upon line and precept upon precept right?.. oh like many im pretty sure you only read what sounds good to your ears and leave out the rest...go back and tell that to slave owners and oppressors who have committed the most heinous crimes against humanity! Check ✔ your concious before you comment...over here
The video uploader and those commenting have a moral compass that. is absolutely twisted beyond recognition if you use the word "unfair" to describe this: We live in a capitalist society. So if people don't want to buy your product and suppliers don't feel it's worth selling it because people's morals will cause them not to buy it, TOUGH LUCK. nobody is going to take financial risks after a major media storm reveals that an artist has views which are abhorrent to the majority of the public. Why was it "unfair" for people not to buy his albums and not attend his concerts and for venues and producers not to sabotage their own careers by hiring him if he sang a song whose lyrics are promoting the genocide and extermination of a large proportion of the population? Why is it "unfair" to refrain from supporting an artist who strips the basic human dignity of gay people in a country where homophobic abuse, torture, murder and translated from jamaican creole (Patwa) into English read approximately and partly as follow:
From when the LGBTQ became a majority? The man had a right to speak his mind and stand by his religious conviction. What Shabba said is written in the Bible. I guess the LGBTQ movement has made the holy book obsolete.
Unfair ending? lol. Ok. I like Shabba a lot but I kinda cringed when I saw him live and he went on some anti gay lecture. Look people if you have a problem with another group of people just avoid them and mind your own business.
Y'know instead of saying that you believe gays should be crucified, just say that you don't agree with gay marriage since you're a Christian. I mean come on, surely you can't expect people to still respect you after saying gays should be killed just because of their sexuality. People defending his actions actually annoy me BUT everyone can have their opinion since I'm a believer in freedom of speech
@@funpeoplearoundtheworld7027 no people must stopped buying his records once they knew what they were about because they didn't agree with the sentiment... its not unfair or unjust its just what happens when you say repulsive things
I learned a lot during my free time in the Corona crisis and stepped up my mixing game. Check out my new 90s Dancehall productions, they all sound wicked!
Big up to those who aren't afraid to express their views and beliefs against the system of control. Big up Shaba Ranks I agree reproduction is between men and women, I do not hate homosexuals at all but the lifestyle is strange to me but that's just me. I don't endorse violence against anyone.
To argue with his statement is to argue with God's word. It is what it is. I have gay family members. Well, one. Everyone sins. But to PRACTICE!!! I said , to practice a lifestyle that goes against GOD'S wishes is wrong. Argue with GOD, not men on this issue
So you disagree with Jesus and the Ten Commandments (neither of which ever mention homosexuality) both saying people should not promote hate or kill, because some nobody managed to get his hate filled words elsewhere into that book.
