Spa Francorchamps has been a longtime FIA World Endurance Championship staple with the 6 Hours of Spa. Over the years the race has seen its share of historic overtakes and unexpected winners, but maybe not to the level seen this year.
Both the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes showed what they were capable of in the final official outing before this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In this video, I'll review the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Spa, including the controversial race control decision that played a part in determining the finish.

For any red flag to last that long, good on the FIA to extend the race to its advertised distance. It would've been nice if they opened the pitlane and let the frontrunners get proper service afterwards. Otherwise, great race, best one of the season so far

Does anyone know why are LMGT3 cars so slow comparing to regular GT3 cars? Best qualifying time in SPA was by Sarah Bovy 2:20.755 but regular GT3 cars can easily do 2:17 there and sometimes even 2:15 (with the right set of tires)

9:40 Weekend is Saturday AND Sunday. Monday until Friday are workdays, Saturday and Sunday the weekend. Why would it be anything else in a series where the governing body is based in Europe?

Race weekend was classified as Wednesday, May 8 - Saturday, May 11 for Spa. Should've specified race weekend, not calendar weekend.

Pretty stupid that the WEC went all NASCAR after the red flag. If they wanted to continue the race and keep it 6 hours and not 7-8 hours (as advertised), they should have stopped the clock during the red flag

WEC didn’t go all NASCAR after the red flag. They did not add extra time to the race, which is what NASCAR does. However they instead decided to continue from where the red flag left off. You complain about the race being 7-8 hours instead of the 6 advertised, and you’re the only person I’ve seen who would complain about getting the full 6 hours of racing instead of having the race be 4 hours and 15 minutes long. What the WEC did with this red flag situation is very cool as instead of having nearly 30% of the race being wasted under red flag conditions, they decided to pick up where they left off. Giving us the 6 hours of Spa that was advertised and not the Spa 4 hours and 15 minutes. So no, WEC did not pull a NASCAR overtime kind of rule.

@@wolfthiel1894 no. Not a Ferrari fan. I’m a Corvette fan for WEC and IMSA and a Wayne Taylor Racing fan. Not everyone is a Ferrari fan saying this. I’m not a fan of the race being 8 hours cuz it defeated the purpose of the race being 6 hours. Ferrari fans are complaining cuz Ferrari lost.

@@robertbearden785 the difference is that they let the countdown continue until 4 minutes left and then they reset the race. Stopping the clock during the red flag would still make it 6 hours. Not 7 or 8.
