Ah, I miss Club Nintendo. I used to cross to Mexico to get the magazine each month. They had stuff that Nintendo Power didn't have. Though, I had a subscription to that, too.
Looking forward to see more videos from you. Extremely good video, TriforceTimes. I crushed the thumbs up marker on your content. Keep on the quality work.
Why would Chris Houlihan, if he's real, play Zelda games? The contest was for Final Fantasy. Sure, his name _appeared_ in A Link to the Past, but that doesn't mean he even played it. For all we know he hates Zelda and has remained quiet all these years he found the contest to be a nothing-burger (like several other NP contests, like how meeting Schwarzenegger was billed as a huge afternoon hang-out but was just a quick handshake in reality, or the Win Robocop's Car had the car stripped of everything cool for legal reasons and was a junker the studio was glad to be rid of as most spare movie cars are).
Nintendo Power wasn't published by Nintendo. I was just a publication that got official affiliation with Nintnedo. Back then, you could actually get fan projects like that, that close with the companies.
Nintendo Power was in fact published directly by Nintendo of America from its start in 1988 though 2007. It was only taken over by Future US from 2007 until its final issue in 2012.
I had an awful thought: Chris Houlihan, faithfully playing every new FF game released, scouring each one for his name, from 1990 until today… because NP forgot to tell him it was going to be in a Zelda game instead 😅 Their communication skills seem to have been poor enough (8 years, and even then just a passing mention) to make it plausible 😓
This video and how your looking for Chris Houlihan, reminds me of that one episode of The Simpsons, when the family was looking for Bart, and Homer thought he found Bart behind a bush and said, I think I found Bart and Homer said Bart is that you, and a voice said no.
i found this room totally by accident not too long after i got the game. it was pretty confusing and nobody believed me when i told them and to be honest i started to wonder myself as the years went by and i never found it again....wasnt until a decade later when the internet had taken off that i found out i was right and learned how to actaully get there again
