Dancan Khaemba thank for shading more light to this..I now get it clear why my late mother used to sing and cry for this jmk death..50yrs today the sin is still giving birth..
He came to our school in Luo Nyanza ,ugunja sub county ,Sigomere primary school in 1973 and distributed to us textbooks and excesise books ,l miss JM May his soul rest in eternal peace
I was very young, but what I have never forgotten to date, how my father who taught in Temple Road Primary School, wept with many of his friends. I could not understand what was going on then... RIP, JMK
I started hearing about this story since in class 2 and until to date I get goose pimples on how this guy was brutally assassinated just because he was outshining Jomo with his smart IQ".kweli jealousy is the last class one attains before he/she becomes a witch"..may you R.I.P JMK
Thank you Ktn for affirming truth that younger generation should keep abreast. May the Lord forgive evil doers; He loves us all and He desires REPENTANCE because while alive we vividly see all that we commit behind scenes. Thank you comrade Khaemba and all news media personnel. God bless Kenya.
@gilbertkipkemoironoh4364 that's why I stand to say no one should sacrifice for kenya cz people like jm until now no justice. All this time down the line one person is left to carry the burden others with the lands jm died for pretending to be heros and innocent
My dad has always talked about JM with such high esteem. He was a true Kenyan Hero. The father of Bottoms Up. My dad said how he always opened libraries so that people can get educated. True Son of the soil.
J m kariuki was born a leader we celebrate what he stood for.he stood for equality for a better Kenya. his memory and what he lived for will always be remembered jm kariuki the hero of Kenya 😥😥
RIP JM, we miss you. You were brilliant and will always be remembered as a hero who fought for our Independence. Those who killed you will meet their maker and they will never be heros. You were brilliant and charismatic and they were afraid of you. Thank you for your struggle for our independence. Even the animals new who you were that's why they never touched you.
Growing up JM was my heroes and forever will be I never met him but what a smart and courageous young politician he was and admire him to this day....whenever I listen to kamarus song when JM was killed I fight tears back...that song was banned during the Kenyatta brutal oppression and people were so scared to talk about him.
The last part of the former special branch spy is so telling about the demeanor of the cops... he talked about a murder as "done well"... how sad. You can only imagine the crimes he has done in his days at the special branch.
I'm Kenyan born -Tanzanian.I remember very well that day.My childhood friends were Kiarie,Muthee,Muthoni,Sikokoo,Mule just to mention a few.I and my parents used to live at Jericho-Ofafa
But this MURDEROUS RAMPAGE still goes on in Kenya. During the last elections the Election Commission IT guy was murdered with the girlfriend, and there was a female Headteacher murdered to amongst others. When I visited Kenya in 1999, Starehe's Dr Griffin hosted me for three weeks - and I sensed that he was scared. When he died 5 years later, his annointed successor Joseph Mutuku Kingala [Yusuf Kingala] died within months and Griffin's Assistand Kenneth Hongo was BANISHED from Starehe. My other host, fellow tribesman and UK friend when he was doing his PhD in London, Dr. Bonaya Adi Godana - Speaker and Minister of Foreign Affairs - was blown out of a helocopter ... with ex-Starehian Dr. Galgallo. Kenya is a MURDEROUS BRUTAL NATION.
I have a childhood photo with Jomo in Gatundu, with Moi at Starehe and a 1999 photo with Kibaki and Muthaiga Gold Club. Yes I do know abit about your country.
1.Tom Mboya 2.J.M kariuki 3.Pio Gama Pinto 4.George Saitoti 5.Bonaya Godana 6.Orwa Ojode 7.Mirugi Kariuki 8.Musando 9.Nkaisery 10.Rober Ouko many more opinion shapers that have lost their lives as a result of having diffrence of opinion to the powers that be. Kenyan Administration was doomed right from independent, killing people on differences of opinion, not knowing they're intellectual property which can be used to build a better Kenyan. But the corruption, greed, utter stupidity have gotten us here. The 1st assassination was ordered on Field Marshall Dedan Wachiuri Kimathi the leader of Mau May,the African resistance Army (Land and Freedom Army) after being captured by the British soldiers. My late grandfather told me all those stories of the betrayal and you can feel the pain, agony the old man and his colleagues endured. All they wanted is their land back, freedom to rule themselves, sadly he said you're chasing the white man, only to have the a black African administration, continuing the same trajectory, grabbing land, powerhungry maniacs, maiming, killing fellow country men to stay in power. Nelson Mandela vowed to serve for one term only and leave, after being released from Robben Island after 30 years imprisonment, and true to his word he did exactly that. Kenyan Administration is just riddled with corruption, cartels, murderers,power_hungry maniacs, incompetence, thieves uptill to date. From the judiciary right upto the police forces, the executive the legislature. The only administration that delved into development, pple service is Presi.Mwai Kibaki before it was also hijacked by the system and bought down.
The real and only reconciliation that we should have as a nation is kicking the dynasty out of power, and for good. Kenyans should strive to take the country back and own it. Take the country out of the dynasty's corrupt and filthy hands!

I was 15 years old! We were in secondary school I remember! So sad! so sad! How do ppl sleep after this, after they kill can they sleep well? Even the animals respected his body! Animals are better than us 100%. RIP my Dad! RIP!
Blood of our granpapas flows in our veins,we will fight for liberation to liberate this nation from our own brothers who has turned to heartless and inhuman being.this madness will come to an end .
JM Kariuki just like Ruto started criticizing the same government that they worked for. He talked about Government corruption of which he made millions while serving it 2. Unfair distribution of land of which he himself left land worth billions. After that he started preaching of how he would save the masses from poverty like what Ruto is promising the 'hustlers'. Corruption is authority plus monopoly minus transparency, that's what these people are all about. I would listen to Martin Shikuku is he was alive today and believe in him.
Thank-you sir.I have gone through the comments wearily until I reached yours that shows the other side of jm which either people don't know or don't want to talk about. Let it be clear that I don't condone murders. Your piece is a gem, especially when you bring in loot all and the gullible Kenyans grovelling at his feet.Bravo bro
This tells us a lot about how so many innocent Kenyans have lost their lives as a coverup. We need to clean up our country or we all die waiting for change
And it's not only Kenta BUT Africa as a whole this was the order of the day. The establishment had no solution to reasoning voices all they could thought of was to eliminate
It's really Sad story, it Make me cry. I really understand how his family feels, it's soo painful to explain. I lost my brother who was District cadet officer in the same way. No one want a true rule who love and his own ppl. This world we expect all kind of life. All we can do is to stand up for our rights even if they want shut out mouth. I remember Gg kariugi did killed so many people in North Eastern Kenya although I was a kid . That's not how to serve your own Country . It's very unfortunate
This was the voice of the suffering Kenyans...common mwananchi...It saddens me to think about how he died....we have to guard those who defend and speak for us in the house of commons...
I felt so bad that time, I was a small boy. JM liked people so much, he used to live in Jericho lumumba where I was brought up. He used to buy everything in a kiosk around my area and share to all families who are in that area. When it was announced that he is dead, people were fainting at the bus stop reading the headlines which announced his death. I remember our parents came to school to get there kids and take them home. The GSU police officers were deployed all over the city of Nairobi. There was big tension. JM was a great man, he was a real politician. The others were traders purporting like politicians enriching themselves in the expense of taxpayers.
Which year was that, if I may ask? Because, from my readings, although JM was a "people person", he was also very wealthy and did not lose opportunity to savour the finer things of life!
Not to be a downer, but how exactly? what are the major economy or revolutionary policies that were sure to stir our economy to that level? sometimes I feel like it is all talk with no substance.
@@22RDS The advantageous thing is that Kenya would have avoided sectarian politics, tribalism that in turn would catapulted the country another different orbital development vis a vis today's position! I think that's what our preceded comrades meant by figuratively speaking of Dubai and Europe development.
Thank you KTN for this report. We are now wiser to see how the Kenyatta's have been ruling Kenya with an iron fist....it's high time we get rid of these despots!!!!2022 wataionea mataani....murderers!!!
Thank you for this wonderful report exposing hypocrisy and murderers. The Government of today should return JM Kariuki Farm to the Family. He was a Freedom Fighter and he died because he cared about the poor. And to this day the many poor have no land. Mugikuyu and other people whose land was stolen by Mzungu when we were as nothing to colonial government, without land to grow own produce is a nightmare. Who will tell the Gov to give the landless some acres and those who took JM Kariukis land to his kin. Thus the error corrected and case closed. And to top that we need a JM Kariuki Highway in the City where he worked with other serious caring politicians. God bless other ignored freedom fighters. God bless Kenya for many are wonderful humble families in millions who work hard and love our country. R I P JM
I have never forgotten the day it was announced that JM kariuki had died. Was quite young than, could not understand why people were crying in Nyeri including my father who was a teacher. Karma bites, and those involved, will continuously pay the price.
What has been happening in Kenya is total removal of people who would have taken this country in the right direction.Up to now,we only have government and its hangers-on who are completely different people that we think can take care of our resources. We have leaders who don't have any sport knowledge/interest being in ministry of sports, thieves leading ministry of security, killers being in charge of ministry of health, developers and land grabbers being in ministry of agriculture, tribalists being in cohesion boards and topmost leaders like our presidents who are required to protect and provide citizens needs being brokers of the same and offshore developers.
8:38, this so called ex-special branch officer is getting facts wrong. Wanyoike Thuku is incorrect,he was Wanyoike Thungu who later in old age died a very miserable death totally invalid and with serious dimentia. This officer earlier on the clip mentioned Nyati House today as being Kingsway House, wrong. Those are two different buildings in different locations in the CBD. Those were the good strong days of the University of Nairobi when they could take the government on over topical issues of national interest. The students brought Nairobi to a standstill after JM's death was revealed. That was unlike todays UoN students who go on strike over culinary issues.
A "good job" is a well thought job. You plan how to lure the target to the scene, how to dispose the body. But a reservist, who isn't an expert in assassination, made things bad & there was pandemics. A "good job" , you cover your tracks.
The late JM addressed at kttc (1973). JM was fearless and stood for what is right. It was his wish to have the people of the NFD fully integrated to the rest of kenya. This story by KTN is not new (Hon Njehu Gatabaki's Finance Magazine (1999?) covered it in details titled: Kenyatta saint or devil, thug or hero). The same hour the paper appeared the same hour it disappeared (an irony). Not even a 100 people read it. How I wish this great man of Africa was remembered.
But the same Kibaki broke the promise he made to the country that no matter how long it would take, they would get to the bottom of J.M murder. He was a president for 10 years. Did he get to the bottom of the matter?
The funny thing is that the ones who commited the henious act are also dead, the organizers plus the executioners are no more,so why kill if you'll die too?
That's all we've been waiting for almost half a century. Although the narrative seems to join the dots, some ink is too soft and light to construct the true image. JM is worth celebrating despite the pains the young family he loved being exposed to unnecessary pain. We don't need to erect statues all over the land as an indicator of over love and cherish for him, but, we need to embed in on hearts the values he and his likes fought and stood for while they served the wananchi. I believe he earned his share on fairgrounds and thus posing the greatest threat to the cartels of the time. Did Nderi arm him to entice him to the party? Don't want to think on such a line. It's sad.
I was 5years when jmk was killed,,some years later I learned this song that my late used to sing as she cried..multi ula woowaie kariuki, nimutumia mukamba kivindyo athi kwa kavywele akakuniwe mbuu...
Ben Gethi was not Kenyatta IG. The one who could have come closest to that was Hinga, the then Police Commissioner. Ben Gethi was the GSU Commandant. The Ben Gethi of NYS and the Ben Gethi who was implicated in JM's are not related in any way. They just share a common name.
So sad that we Africans are our own enemies we are incited by white men against our own who the whites fear to genius leaders like JM, TOM MBOYA , KHODHEKI , TITUS ADUNGOSI and many more who have been killed for no reason at all
Now the family of this murderer Ben gethi should know that they feed on blood and fresh of humans..the canibalism of their forefather.their lands are just the battle fields full of blood pools, with no harvest.
