As far as the grip of addiction I can identify with his struggles. I also admired his authenticity in the way he carried himself cool guy he would have been great to party with or abstain with. I personally would not try to die by suicide while any person that I cared about and cared about me because of what that might trigger inside them and I'm just not built that way.

Discovered him way too late. As a tribute and toast to Tony I did a "BOURDAIN DAY 2021 Tribute Tour" in London this year, full 40 minute episode on my channel. Less a "where he went/what he did" in London, more exploring and trying NEW things. Paying my respects and hoping to honour his memory by entertaining not only myself, but other fans. You have to keep a watching eye over your emotions and stay away from substances like alcohol (which Tony didn't), relapse is only a few thoughts away. Stay safe bruv

This tragedy should be thoroughly invested, something is totally off key, with the events that led up to Anthony's death!!!!!! If all were as concern as suggested, who could/would have eaten without making sure he was ok????? I could not have moved on without checking on my friend?????? You took me to places, I would not have ordinarily traveled to. The aromas of the scrumptious, unusual foods, were fantastic. The exotic, beautiful places, absolutely breathtaking. I am joking but I have a little experience traveling overseas and I have been to Canada a few times. One time I was in a bar in Toronto talking to some people and having a good time. A French Canadian did not like the fact I was American and decided to spit on me. It was back in the Summer of 2003 when we were invading Iraq. He did not like George Bush. I grabbed the guy and shoved him out of the bar. The police were close by, they were there in a matter of seconds. It's funny the police were very apologetic. They wanted to be clear that type of behavior is not tolerated. I decided in the end that charges would just be a waste of my time and did not pursue it. The guy walked away and still had plenty to say about Bush.

As a recovering addict/alcoholic I can tell you right now that if you're addicted to drugs but keep on drinking you are not clean, just kidding yourself and sooner or later will pick up again, I know only too well. I was told all this years ago in the country's second best rehab center and didn't believe them, still smoked weed and drank, within six months I was coking it up again, I too member picking white bits out of the carpet. This man was incredibly smart and talented but obviously very troubled too. I get the feeling he didn't commit suicide though, it just doesn't fall in with his attitude I got from reading his books but whaddo I know.

Agreed. I liked "No Reservations" more than "Parts Unknown." I think he left the Travel Channel because there were places he wanted to go that they couldn't make happen for him. CNN, as a world journalistic brand, could get him to those places. And he probably just wanted to change the direction of what he was doing.

Rest in Peace. Anthony Michael Bourdain. He was a simple man who happens to be interested in music, reading, writing, and cooking. He was a storyteller to millions of people around the world by exemplifying that food can be an important element between us. Food is the key factor to connect to different parts of the world and introducing different cultures and ethnic background. He had always been honest about his past history by being addictive to cocaine, LSD, and heroin. Why did he hang himself ? We will never be able to find out the truth .

I'm so sad to be processing that he's gone. I will miss knowing he is in our world commenting on it and partaking of it. One thing, he never talked shit out of nowhere, or without grounds to do so. I think he did more than any politician's share of diplomacy as well. To watch those old shows where he looked stranger after stranger in the eye, learned their story, and shared it with us, making friends everywhere he went. He may have been quick with a curse word, and he may have been sharp with his opinion, and he may have been a cocky chef but I always saw him as humble enough to know he had more to learn, and that people are people wherever you go. RIP Anthony Bourdain. I will miss you very much.

He realized that he had too much adventure he have done on earth, and he bacame bored, he thought of a new adventure after life, he wants to explore the whole universe for new adventure in a different dimention and persfective. He has a different point of view, a unique one...
