Great Video, I have never heard of this man before, I had to look him up and listen to a few songs, you mentioned. I Love learning, you sound young, but you go way back with your music. You have a old soul, or you use to jam with your grandparents 😂😂keep up the good work, I am a fan!!!!

I met Marv when our group the Black Elements was practicing at the Four Tops Studio in Detroit in the early 70s. Marv liked what he saw and became our manager. Yes, he did write "Give your Baby a Standing Ovation" for the Dells and its actually his voice in the beginning of the song. Marv, was kind and gentle man who was dealt a bad hand by Motown. He and I use to talk about his past and future in music. We last spoke just prior to his leaving for Europe where is was performing and clasped on stage and later died. I miss my mentor and friend. RIH, BIG BROTHER!

Actually one of my friends knew marv later in his career. I've been a big fan of marvs since I was a kid Your video is excellent but if I can respectfully add one bit of info . United artist was the distributor for marv but he was still recording at motown . When Gordy founded motown he didn't have the capital to distribute marvs records so united artist was utilized for distribution But you are correct after marvs 2 year contract ended with Gordy around 60 or 61 he did actually move over to ua and then go back to motown in 64

Nice video but common info. He never recorded as Marvin Johnson. You didn't mention and maybe you didn't know that Marv Johnson starred in a good rock musical called Teenage Millionaire along with Jackie Wilson, Chubby Checker, Dion and others.

Marv Johnson untold FACT: "I Love The Way You Love" pressed and released in Canada, Philippines, and Africa---on 78 rpm. Marv Johnson totally rocks it at 78, making this hit and Marv's other confirmed "Late 78s" from 60-61 his rarest records in the world. Even Berry Gordy, Jr. did not know about this when I met him pre-pandemic at the Blinky show in LA where he and Chris Clark performed Clark's "I Want To Go Back There Again," my showing Gordy both the images of Marv's Philippine 78 as well as The Marvelettes "Silly Boy" (i.e. see my online article and image of The Marvelettes Motown 78 rpm Discovered). Marv Johnson lives---Andromeda International Records
