I always find it funny when they recolour a black character to blue. Here in Brazil we have a saying that some black people are so black they are blue, and the recolour of these racial stereotypes would make the situation even worse.

Actually, the whole time splitters 2 thing actually happened before. In a Spyro game, you can debug the game in order to play the Crash PS1 Party game on there, and it's like, an entire game, just an earlier build.
It also was a recurrent easter egg in Bizarre Creations' PGR series... Wherein PGR2 and PGR3 from what I recall had full versions of a different game (Geometry Wars)
Hiding older games inside newer ones is a time-honored tradition. The LucasArts adventure game "Day of the Tentacle" had the entirety of the original "Maniac Mansion" playable through an in-game computer, and this was in the early nineties.

The Battle over Toluca Lake is referring to an idea that Tomm Hulett revealed in an interview that can be heard on the channel The Grate Debate. Basically the developers of Silent Hill Homecoming had the awful idea of having Alessa from Silent Hill 1 have a "DBZ style battle over Toluca Lake" with Josh, the main character of Homecomings little brother. Alessa was meant to represent fire and Josh would represent water and they would fight for control over the town. I don't think Tomm Hulett was what Silent Hill needed, but he was doing his best and I think he gets far too much hate over his time working on the series. Yeah Homecoming is a pretty bad game, but it sounds like without him things could've been even worse.
@@tylertheguy3160 Without a doubt. There really wasn't a whole lot Tomm could've done honestly. Konami was going to be Konami no matter what. I think Tomm Hulett is the best we could've hoped for in retrospect. At least he cared about the series and wanted to keep things from falling apart even if he just had limited ability to do so. I mean he went out of his way using personal time to play test and report bugs in the HD collection and still got ignored and Konami shipped a broken game anyways. At that point there isn't a single person who could've been better for Silent Hill because all of their ideas would've been ignored just the same.
@@GlimmerSprings I used to be one of the people who blamed it all on Tomm and honestly I'm ashamed of it. I think it's a case of me maturing and that with what we know about Konami now hindsight is 20/20. Tomm still had his flaws but I have a lot of respect for him now and it wasn't all on him. As an aside, even if his era of Silent Hill isn't particularly great I now have some nostalgia for it because we're now a decade removed from it and at least it was a time when we were still getting new SH games. Also I genuinely think Shattered Memories is a really good game.
@@tylertheguy3160 I never played Shattered Memories personally. I've seen enough about it to think I would've preferred it if we got Cold Heart instead as at least it was an original story. I didn't enjoy Homecoming at all because of what it did to established series cannon and while I haven't played Origins I dislike it for much the same reason. Downpour was original, but I think the story is just a bit too messy for me to say I enjoyed it. I like the concept but the good/bad/secret endings can really kill the story how they change past events based on how you play. Personally I don't have any nostalgia for that era of Silent Hill and would've been fine had the series just ended at 4. I'm not upset that it continued though as we did get some great concepts and monster designs as well as music from the post Team Silent era.
@@GlimmerSprings In my honest opinion Shattered Memories is an amazing game. It is a departure since there's no combat and instead it uses chase sequences, but man, the game has an almost PERFECT vibe in my eyes. The music is great (I'm pretty sure it was the last one Akira Yamaoka worked on), the world is so amazingly detailed and full of little clues to find, the therapy session parts are an interesting addition, and overall I love how unique it stands out among the rest of the series. There's a cool blue ice atmosphere instead of bloody rust, snow instead of ash, and I just love how they took the basic premise of SH1 and did something so different and creative with it. Also I can't blame you for feeling that way about the later SH titles. I think some signs of improvement were starting to show around Downpour, but we'll never know how that could've turned out.
The CzarDragon is supposed to be Kaiser Dragon; It was only changed in order to meet the character space limit for monster names in the Super Nintendo version of the game as Japanese takes up less space when written. When the game was ported to the Game Boy Advance the translators were given more space for english monster names.

In Pokémon GO, you need to actually throw the ball at the Pokémon, and there's always the chance of it deflecting the ball, or the player just outright missing their throw. Unless they made it a special type of item like the berries where you just tap it and it works, I could imagine the amount of outrage there'd be if people were having Master Balls be deflected or just missing their target. 53:23 Actually, that enemy IS used in the final game. That sprite is used by the Devourer enemy found in the Corruption. It's a pretty underwhelming and uncommon enemy, but it is there in the final game. Whatever debug functionality it may have had is inaccessible through normal means (or maybe at all). Surprised to see this but not the cut weapons.
PSA: all consumer grade vpns keep logs. You aren't "safe" using them. The only thing they are good for is getting past download limits and switching regions for streaming services. They don't magically give your device protection and privacy. Also, as a side note, I have no idea why everyone refers to an earlier build of a game as a beta. Just call it in dev version or early build.
Yeah not really enjoying the small research going into these entries, I really think you should have investigated more in depth on these ones, as some you missed are relatively easy to look up (like Oil Man's controversial design or the Kirby GCN models in Brawl trophies)
I hope we get to see some cut content from the Oddworld quintology. There’s so much stuff that was cut or unmade you could make an entire iceberg of its own. Like the cut species the Meeches from the first game Abes Oddysee, a subplot in Munch’s Oddysee of the villain of the first game, Molluck being put on trial for failing to stop Abe, Munch’s hulk-like alternate form, The Roid, the cut cutscene in Strangers Wrath showing a flashback of a Grubb village getting destroyed and even scrapped or unmade game ideas like Hand of Odd and Squeeks Oddysee among so much more.
33:00 you failed to mention that this playable Time Splitters 2 isn't the original game, it's a full-on remaster of the game with updated graphics among many other changes.
For the Time Splitters 2 thing, the only other time I can personally think of being able to play a game inside of a different game is through the NES consoles in an old Animal Crossing game. I guess there are also technically the demos in Smash Bros. Brawl, but those don't really count since they have time limits on them.
To add onto a few things: Playstation All Stars, I'm pretty sure Ryu Hayabusa was in the background of early promotional art, as well as Jin Kazama from Tekken. And I've heard over the years Samus and Link were cut from Ultimate Alliance because they Nintendo weren't happy their characters weren't being shown / presented on Nintendo hardware. One of the developers of the game actually has a website showing a bit more detail on Link's textures as well as an alternate costumes, if I can find the website (or the developer's name) I'll include it later. I have an explanation for 32:02! when the Nintendo 64 was introduced, there was a test game, I can't remember the name, but it uses a 3d model of mario, so when it was no longer used, Nintendo created some games using this test game as a base, with one of those games being pikmin. also, a Goomba was also found in the game files of pikmin with the same origin. I only know this because I love pikmin and I like finding cools facts about it. correct me if I got something wrong.
Duel over Toluca Lake was a cut ending of Silent Hill Homecoming where Joshua (protagonist Alex Shepherd's younger brother) and Alessa Gillespie (arguably the cause of Silent Hill's current state) had some sort of wizards duel over the lake that Alex has to travel over to get to Silent Hill. This wasn't meant to be a joke ending like the UFO endings in the other games (or the dog ending in Silent Hill 2), this was meant to be one of the primary endings you were capable of getting. The game's director had to fight the studio to get that plot point removed, which is good because it would have make an already subpar game bad.
My guess for the Pokemon Go master ball is that it was probably there for debugging purposes. They probably needed a ball that would test out catch successes, and they probably just had the model and textures ready to go from Nintendo. I doubt that Niantic considered giving them out at any point. I guess it's possible that someone could have left it in the game as a way for customer support to make up for the player encountering a game-breaking bug, but I personally think it was a debug thing, not something that was ever intended to be obtainable by the player.
I don't classify F-Zero AX as cut content. That mode is accessible through normal means, it's just done in such an archaic way people forgot that it was even a thing. The arcade version of AX has this slot on the front of the machine, if you take your gamecube memory card to the machine and insert it, you can update the game files using the arcade data. Unlocking the mode. The problem is that since the arcade wasn't really all that common outside of Japan, it was next to impossible to access that part of the game.
I know of one instance similar to that Time Splitters in Homefront situation. In Spyro: Year of the Dragon on PS1, you can input a code on the title screen that will take you to a demo of Crash Bash, which will let you play 2 minigames, however, on original black label copies, if you access the crash bash demo, you can input another code which enables the debug console and lets you play almost every mini game and level in Crash Bash, with one of the bosses using placeholder icons showing Homer and Bart Simpson.

I think the reason they would have had it has playing Patrick I think is cuz some parts of the big bosses you played the characters in different rounds so they would have use the same thing in the final boss. Note I'm not talking about bosses like king jellyfish but the bosses when you enter the next mid world area.

It's a misconception actually that the starfighters for Jedi Academy is cut. They just were never intended to be used by the player, only by NPCs They still appear a lot in the games and are used in cutscenes, which are in engine. So yeah they're usable, but there was never intended to be space combat in the game as far as I know (you can however shoot down TIE fighters in some turret sections in Jedi Outcast.
The Samus and Link in Ultimate Alliance thing. DYKG! initially, and erroneously stated that the reason for their removal was because Nintendo were "furious" about the test footage being from the PS2 version of the game. I don't recall where exactly I heard this, as it was a couple years back, but apparently the more accurate series of events was that Nintendo were impressed but merely politely declined the inclusion. Although I do believe in Link's case it may have been due to them not wanting the character to appear in a game with a number of firearm-wielders in it.
43:20 I kind of wonder if this was cut from Stick Of Truth because he died in one of the two banned episodes so most people probably didn't see it. (Episode 200 and 201.) His death didn't really make an impact at all so it's not really a spoiler. (I think he was barely in the show at that point anyway.) His death was swift and I don't think it was ever acknowledged in any canon besides this one cut thing. The way he dies is kind of a spoiler but if you don't care you can just look up "Pip's death" and find an eighteen second video. (Or you could just watch the full episodes online, though they are censored for many reasons.)
To be honest. The Jane bond idea could of work. And Samus and link would of been great in marvel ultimate alliance. And fun girl seem fitting for yandare. I’m also sad that bowsette was scraped. She my favorite Mario meme character. I even made it a rival to peach along with booette and chompette. And adult kid seem like she had a fitting role. I wish she was in the final game.

So in marvel alliance, they wanted to put them in but showed them in the ps3 version of the game and not the wii version, because the game was bulit off the ps3 version, Nintendo thought they were asking to have them in all versions and not just the wii version and backed out
