We need a coach who knows, from experience, modern top national team tactics, who can successfully make adjustments during a match, who will NOT be a buddy to the players, but who can inspire the players to play to their potential. No MLS coach will cut it. Period. Klopp is a pipe dream, but there are coaches available.

How are we ever going to replace a coach who couldn’t cut it in the Swedish 2nd division??? Good news: a lot of fans are paying attention to this next hire. Bad News: Federation could literally pick anyone and we will say, “well, at least he’s better than GGG.” European first division experience, Fingers crossed.

It is kind of a double-edged sword, because anyone would be an upgrade and that’s progress, but at the same time we need to upgrade enough to challenge at the World Cup.

If a top European manager Pep/Klopp etc. was available/interested even at $8m a year, I think donors and partners could cover half, the manager himself could raise another 25% hosting events/dinners etc, and USSF covers the rest, it could be done, I am confident in that.

If so, that would be one of the biggest coaching hires in international football history. I think getting Klopp is achievable, we just need to go all out and get it done. I have faith in USSF to do that.

Better late than never. What I don’t want to see is US players over in Europe continually warming the bench and not playing and hopefully Weston getting his act together if it’s not too late. I truly hope they haven’t just wasted this four year cycle. I really want to see them do well but was having a hard time with Greg at the helm - same on the women’s side with Vlatko.

The encouraging thing is that they hired a world class manager on the women’s side and money apparently won’t be a problem, so they have the capability to do the same for the USMNT. I have faith that a competent manager would get our players drilled correctly.

Calling Gregg a bozo is ridiculous. I didn't like his tactics, but Mike Grella just went on TV and said Berhalter is a really good coach. You too can't even evaluate talent, and you're calling the coach a bozo. Also, do you guys just copy 11 Yanks and Tactical Manager?

(Yuri) No, we do not. We have very different opinions regarding the next manager for example, Tac said Nancy is a good hire and I strongly disagree, 11 Yanks Believes Gio is a world class talent and I strongly disagree on that as well. There are countless differences in how we view players,for example, don’t rate Johnny too highly and prefer tessmann over him, I don’t believe a manager will change our results drastically either because contrary to what they may seem to think(and this is completely fair, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions) I truly believe we only have three good players (puli, dest, Jedi), and a lot of other different opinions, however, on recognizing that Gregg was not good enough I not only agree with both of them but also the other 90% of the fanbase.

Cherundolo would be such a bad hire. It would be an upgrade on Gregg because anyone is an upgrade on Gregg, but we wouldn’t accomplish anything meaningful.
