When talking about Gut-Brain Axis or Gut Brain Connection, Vagus nerve pop up.
Vagus nerve is defined as the longest and a very complex cranial nerve that stretches from brain, face, thorax to the colon. There have been a lot of discussion on the role of vagus nerve on gut brain connection. To shed more light on these discussions, here is a quick vlog on what is a vagus nerve, what is its mechanism, why is it important on the gut brain connection, and if it is important, how can we take care of it.

The tendency of western medicine to treat symptoms and ignore the root cause never ceases to amaze me.

Western Nursing training is focused on root causes, as l was trained over 30 years ago as an RN. Western medicine in my decades of observation has been a sell out to all the political greed based variables. It is easily proven outside my observation on the over four trillion dollars spent yearly to the shit outcome ratios where we statisicly plumit in comparison to health in the world.The sad part being the world is catching up.

Couple of years ago I was having intense attacks of pain in my chest where I could barely breath or walk...it was excrutiating. I was 62 then. Went to a cardiologist, he said I looked fine. 😳 Long story short, I realized I had a periodic Hiatal hernia, and after looking around and asking questions online, some guy said it was my Vagus nerve. He told me to just stand facing a wall and stretch my hands up as far as I could and hold that position. It stopped the pain in 30 to 60 seconds...every time. Closest thing to a miracle I have ever experienced. He also said his dad had the same thing, but he would jump on a trampoline for a while till the Hiatal hernia reduced back down below the Hiatus and that's how he got rid of his pain. Vagus nerve is amazing.

I have been chronically stressed and anxious for so long. so I started using L-theanine to help me relax, it’s definitely helped, and it’s just an amino acid. Also a quality mediation is amazing.

Absolutely love videos like this one. I have found many ways to work with my symptoms by listening to the body, following videos that help me understand what my body is trying to tell me, and what I can do. I continue to watch them in hopes of healing further. I've gone from being so limited on what I eat and feeling like crap to enjoying more foods and now water, fruit, vegetables and more. I still have tough times, but it's much easier than it's ever been. Thank you for your help with your videos and I look forward to learning more on my healing journey.

This video was very insightful for me. My quality of life has been horrible for months and I’ve always known my sibo was directly related to my vagus nerve and this video really helped me narrow down the root cause of my sibo/autoimmune reactions. Its either my gut bacteria imbalance or either a structural condition directly effecting my vagus nerve. Thank you so much for this detailed explanation on everything, it really helped a lot

Really great 👍🏻 video. Awesome info! Great passion and knowledge about this complex and misunderstood topic of study. I really like how vagus can influence or affect inflammation, digestive enzymes, bowel movement frequency, and other. I’ve seen vids on other channels, with some people activating their Vagus nerve and teaching how to do so. More of a meditation 🧘‍♀️ thing to relax from what I can understand or feel. When someone starts connecting vagus nerve stimulation or lack of it , and SIBO conditions,- somethings or combinations of things may be going wrong at the same time. The whole mind , gut and vagus nerve connections very complex on it’s own. I’d imagine that this complex and sensitive system can get out of wack or can be influenced heavily by a person’s actions and behaviors, or any disorders a person might have, like depression or anxiety imbalances. Since it’s so nerve and chemical, what drugs, medicine, vitamins or supplements can stimulate these vagus nerves and the connected system ? What could help? What could hurt? Maybe this could be touched upon in future videos 🤷🏼‍♀️! Thanks for everything!

Greetings from Hunedoara, Romania. Congratulations! I'm Erwin, and when the weather changes, that's when my end comes..., in other words, I feel the sudden change in temperature, from cold to warm and vice versa, like fog, I can anticipate the weather forecast through intercostal neuralgic pains. I want to write to you that I had a respiratory virus when I was 20 years old, but as a small child I had "nerves in my stomach", as I explain in a simplified way that anyone can understand. I would like to ask you what you think happens when the weather changes, because only when the weather changes do I have these manifestations, mood changes, anxiety, palpitations, even from the wind blowing irregularly. Do you think it's about the autonomic nervous system, sympathetic/parasympathetic, only, or also the vagus nerve, and what exercises would you recommend?! Thank you very much. With respect and honest friendship, Erwin. 🤗

I had Omicron 1 year ago with severe inflammation of my brain, and upper back nerves, and had the worst gut inflammation and Candida overgrowth I have ever experienced. Post Covid, for a couple months I experienced high blood pressure, tachycardia, POTS etc. That's gone away now, thankfully. Now I feel I have SIBO, and other gut issues such as motility issues, diverticulitis flare ups. I am already feeling relief working on my Vagus nerve.

@tigerspiritjourney

@@mrs.s8855 Im feeling much better.!! Took Grapefruit Seed Extract every morning upon waking to kill off the bad bacteria, and only ate bone broth, then soft boiled beef with broth, some scrambled eggs and feta cheese for a month. Now Ive added a bit of well-cooked mushy rice and mashed well-cooked broccoli to my beef and broth with no problems. I have Kefir once a day now too. All food is organic, even my morning coffee and full fat cream. Either 30 minutes before, or 2 hours after my main beef meal of the day, I take 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of water, to help with digestion. Also, I take 300mg Magnesium, D3 2000 iu + K2, Zinc, and B-vitamin supplement, turmeric tea, medicinal mushrooms, wheat grass shot, citicholine, Co Q10, Cod Liver Oil for Omega 3, Black seed oil, Boswellia for inflammation, and Olive leaf. 16-hour daily intermittent fasting has helped a lot too. And finally, brisk walking 1 hour a day has helped with gut motility immensely, so all in all feeling much better! The only remaining symptom is tinnitus, but even that has gotten better as long as I keep doing my Vagus nerve massage, neck stretching exercises, zero sugar and very low carbs intake etc.

i love all your videos, but these vagus nerve video are the best. i believe my mom had a vasovagal syncope and it scared the shit out of a lot of people because we were at a wedding reception, and ended up in the ER in Boston, which turned out to be more of a zoo for the mentally unstable because they’re in freakn drugs but this vagus nerve is one big pain in the ass. i’m going to learn everything i can about this from you and other videos if they can even come close. i don’t know how many video you have that are related to the vagus nerve but i hope you’d be willing to make as many as possible. thank you for taking the time so do everything you do to teach us all by telling the raw truth. thank you !!!!

OMG, Dr. DiNezza, I was just having attack and tell my kids that this is a vagus never issue that causes me pain. I told them that all of my doctor think that I am crazy. I told them that every time I have to use to pooh, the pain coms on my neck and head and my sinuses get congested and it last for a couple of hours. Teh pain is like a 12, stabbing, burning, tingling and a lot of pressure. Then after the pooh comes out the pain dies down and I have to use hot water to decongest my nose. I told them that I think its the vagus nerve and inflammation. I stop eating foods that cause mucus and inflammation. I have not laid flat since Oct/2022. The anxiety come on me and I do breathing exercises to calm down. The pain just comes on me, in a 24 hour day, I have 5-8 pain attacks. Then I started fasting to control the pain, still it happens. The vagus nerve is serious. Thanks for explaining this out in simple detail where I recognize all of my symptoms as you speak, and there are others. Excellent video, thanks for making it, This was my first time seeing you, thank you so very much for telling us. I have heard this from Dr. Hauser in Florida. Now, I have back up evidence from you that I'm not crazy. God bless you and your family.

Dr Nicole, I love watching your videos especially about vagus nerve. You give sound advice about nature, giving back, being grateful. But sometimes it's not enough? You can have a physically damaged vagus nerve (from head surgery' etc) so how can someone help it physically? Red light therapy etc ...things like that I'm looking into. Also..... heavy metals are attracted to nerves..... that's a big problem

I hear you. I have actual AFib and more and more it looks like it is the vagus nerve connection that triggers it. Doctors used to scoff at the notion, but more are coming around to the theory these days!😉 I follow an actual cardiologist on You tube and he says there's strong implication of the vagus nerve being involved.
