Today we jump into teaching classical history with Memoria Press. Why do we teach history through narrative? How do we take the tales of antiquity and impart virtue education through our homeschool curriculum? How do we communicate Christian values through sinful characters?
Shane sits down with Paul, Ian and Bryce to talk about the ways in which each of them have been impacted by the Famous Men series, why we talk so much about virtue, and how our Famous Men of Virtue RU-vid series came to life.

Thank you for explaining the goals of the Famous Men Stories. I'm getting ready to teach Famous Men of Rome and I really appreciate the suggestions to pull out the virtues of each person. Also, I am thankful for the thoughtful way the books are scheduled. The concrete before the abstract (Rome before Greece) makes developmental sense. As a newish homeschooling mom all these videos with these discussions are so helpful to me.

Please lower the background noise. It's distracting from this otherwise absolutely wonderful video. We found it very helpful in our homeschooling covering this chapter today in our Famous Men of Rome work today ❤

As someone who also “reads” a lot of books by audio, I felt that whole description of “2 hours long…and I’m one car ride in” so deeply.

I heard about the Famous Men series from you guys and loved it. The figures who stood out to me the most were Pisistratus and Aristides. I had never heard of them even though I thought had a good grasp on greek history. My one issue with the Famous Men of Greece is it doesn't have a section on Cliesthenies.
