What exactly did this season do for the characters ?? no honestly I'm curious, Ruby is the exact same girl now as she was at the beginning of volume 8, everyone will go back to relying on her cause they went for the pc message that if you believe in yourself you are enough.( boring !!! ) Jaune gets age reversed, the only thing that changed is we have the bumblebee ship officially now but not only is it a weak ship they are giving it more attention than Ren and Nora which had seasons of time to develop. The relic said DO NOT FALL OFF, no one lost a limb or changed forever or anything, compare this to the fall of Beacon, there should have been consequences for falling off. Instead, they all learned a lesson and got to go back happier than when they fell in. So .... no consequences which means I'm calling it now beating Salem will be showing her the error of her ways or some equally lame crap. We waited two years and had to pay a separate subscription to watch this absolute waste of a season, if you watch the end of volume 8 and the start of volume 10, people would shrug their shoulders and say, great they found a way back and nothing happened, I wonder what the relic was so worried about. Then after all the bull and having to wait twice as long for this season the after credit scene is a promo for the shitty DC crossover movie. Nothing about how much time passed, what Salem is doing, or Raven, or Oscar, or honestly any scene showing what is going on in Remnant ?!?! they brought on extra writers for this season had to wait two years and exactly nothing happened. Plus we are still at a total of exactly zero actually good fights in RWBY since volume 3.

The allegory hits harder when you consider that CRWBY, not just the creators, but the characters suffered a major loss and had no real time to heal. Just keep moving forward was the mantra and while it’s an important message that Monty gave us, sometimes we need to revisit the road so far, to not get lost.

But every now and then you have to retrace your steps. Or else, you'll make a big mistake and get lost. Then you'll suffer continuity hiccups, character derailments, rushed or unfinished resolutions, plot holes, and angry fans. Someone once said, "Shortcuts lead to dead ends".

Personal theory, Raven goes cold when she feels guilty. With everyone talking about how much Ruby is like Summer, gotta wonder if Raven thinks that what happened to Summer was her fault.

​@@goofyfurball7311 there's a possibility that Summer might have sacrificed herself to save Raven from Salem and maybe Raven feels guilty about that who knows.. but what's for sure is that whatever happened on that mission completely traumatized Raven and shook her to the core considering her cold attitude (compared to her in the flashback) and her fear towards Salem.

Eh idk 1-3, and 5 were better but 9 was better then a lot of the not so goo seasons after Monty died it went downhill slightly

I get the feeling that when they confront Cinder again, she's gonns be the one to reveal Jaune was the one who killed Penny, just to break Ruby. I mean there has to be a reason why they didn't have Jaune reveal what happened.

I’m pretty sure they know Jaune killed Penny. First episode, Weiss explained what happened to Penny which caused Ruby to collapse as a result. Second time is chapter 6 where Jaune explains what exactly went down before the fall of Atlas and how now Salem has two relics. Now if he didn’t explain about how Penny died, we still have context from the first episode of this volume because of Weiss. But Ruby might/might not know how Penny exactly died cus she had already collapsed before Weiss even finished what she was saying.

@@miguellecaperal7402 As far as we know, Ruby doesn't know Jaune killed Penny, and everyone could assume Jaune is just feeling guilty for failing to save Penny. There's multiple ways the writers could go about this in the future.

Agree here, not so much because it will prevent argument because it is so important both to the story and to the subject matter of the attempted “English Breakfast”. Everything surrounding that appears to be something many viewers deeply connect to, and it’s a story that deserves to be given attention.
