This short clip highlights the importance of voice in every aspect of our life, and why we should value it just as we value vision and hearing.
The Australian Dysphonia Network aims to increase community awareness about the impact of voice issues, and this project was timed to coincide with World Voice Day to help achieve that goal.
Special thanks to: Performer, Actor, Vocal Coach and all round beautiful soul - Francine Bell whose voice flows like melted chocolate; Grace International for funding this project through the amazing "Grace Gives" community grants program; Pete McMurray from Lumina Visual who made the magic happen in the studio and editing suite...and finally to our brave volunteers who shared just a little of what it is like to live with dysphonia.

I hope and pray that more people with dysphonia will get cured and have healthier voices. Happy (belated) World Voice Day (April 16th) 2022.

I see the ADN is a relatively new (2016) and important point of contact and support for people with voice disorders. Probably like a lot of people watching this video, my employer, work cover, my colleagues, my friends, failed to appreciate the impact of complex dysphonia. That lack of knowledge, lack of acceptance, led to breakdowns in support, animosity, bullying, and ostricisation. A career ending mishandling of recovery, and numerous roadblocks in treatment. Vocal disorders need a voice, it's good to have yours.
