Elena giving Rick the ring back is sweet. The failed transformation is brutal, Klaus being so upset that it doesn't work is such an intresting moment, Joseph Morgan is great. Really like Tyler and his mum's scenes this episodes. Caroline just can't catch a break.
Klaus’ “You’ve heard of me, fantastic” is one of my fave lines in this episode 😩 Elena saying she was worried about Damon and him saying “thanks” lol I love them so much. I enjoy Alaric, Elena, and Damon working together so this episode was fun to watch. Alaric notifying Damon and Damon calling him brother just shows that they’re friends at this point. The Damon and Elena water scene is great too. Elena just wants to know that Stefan is okay and she hasn’t really seen or personally heard from him yet so that’s why she’s hell-bent on finding and helping him. The phone call definitely didn’t help and gave her hope in helping him and since she’s loyal and cares about him she’s not going to give up. Her and Damon spent the whole summer tracking him and we already know Elena doesn’t prioritize her safety above her loved ones well-being so dangerous or not, she’s going to try to do something 😭
During the entire summer, Damon was there supporting Elena, so of course she would grow to care for him more deeply and rely on him more. Clearly Damon saw this and didn't want her denying it anymore. I didn't see this as him being forceful, just wanted her to admit the truth. Damon, Alaric, and Elena are a great team (reminded me of S1 when they first worked together to save Stefan from the tomb vampires). Jeremy not telling Bonnie and going to Matt instead🙄 No one can play Klaus as well as Joseph Morgan
Sure, she developed feelings for him. But he didn't have to say, "I want you to remember the things you felt while he was gone" all hot like that. Like chill Damon, she's still with your brother. He only left her because he chose you.
Jeremy telling his best friend first instead of his girlfriend (who's still not back from vacation) is not a bad idea. He needs time to process this, preferably with someone who wouldn't immediately get jealous.
You really tried to defend him aren't you? He know how much she loved Stefan but his selfishness is bigger than the cared he had for his brother, he is forceful to Elena from the start, he tried to made her his while she's with his brother, yes if he keep doing that Elena cared about him and got feelings for him but at the end of this season she also said she maybe having feelings for him but he never unfell for Stefan and she still choose Stefan, it was only the sire bond what makes him choose Damon over Stefan, how hard you Damon stan tried to denied this, but the facts won't change
@@_lolo7423 I admit that Damon can be very selfish with Elena, even when he tries not to. But have you not seen how Elena has looked at Damon like the entire season 2? He's not forcing himself on her. She's clearly been leading Damon on. If she wasn't interested, she would have made that clear, but she didn't. She doesn't belong to any of the brothers, she's free to choose whoever she desires without anyone forcing her decision. Damon (and the audience) clearly sees that she's hiding her feelings for him and getting her to admit them is actually a good thing. Spoiler ⚠️ It was not the sire bond, that made her fall in love with Damon. They made that clear. Being sired doesn't mean you feel differently about someone. Tyler hated Klaus, but he still did everything he said. The bond affects how you act, not how you feel. Which is the case for Elena.

@@LovedByYou That's called plot. Damon never pretended to be the most smartest person in the show, he's ruled by his emotions and is unstable at times but is still a fairly good schemer. Not everyone can be Tyrion Lannister.
Elena loves both Stefan and Damon but she won't admit it to herself, so Damon's statement at the end is his way of telling her that he knows it, and after Stefan is back Damon knows she will have to admit it to herself. Mayor Mrs. Lockwood suspected Caroline, but she put vervain oil on Caroline's purse and when it burned her, she knew Caroline was a vampire. The Founding Families in Mystic Falls passed the knowledge of vampires and how to deal with them down to the present day. Sheriff Forbes is a Forbes because she married into it, so she knows about them because she's part of the council as Sheriff, but she wasn't taught to hate them from the time she was little. Mayor Lockwood called the Sheriff's husband because he WAS taught and wouldn't let love stop him and she wanted Tyler protected. Jeremy wants to figure out why he's seeing Vicky and Anna before Bonnie gets back from visiting her extended family over the summer because he doesn't want her to feel guilty about inflicting this on him by bringing him back to life - and because they're both his exes so he feels guilty about seeing only them and not his parents and Jenna too. Alaric is sticking around because he lost Isobel and he lost Jenna and he would have lost Jeremy and Elena if not for magic, so he's depressed and holding on to the little family he has left. He expected them to kick him out because he blames himself for Jenna's death and he thinks they should blame him too.
Elena wants to see Stefan and Stefan want to stay away from her to protect her from Klaus it just breaks my heart 💔💔 He wants her to be happy and move on but she can't without him oh god their love is pure and epic 😭😭

I was so into the Damon and Alaric, and the Klaus and Stefan interactions this episode| The vampire super hearing works when they are tuned in on it. Klaus was too distracted by his failed hybrids to hear them. |Smokey Mountains or the Great Smokey Mountains are real mountain ranges in Tennessee| I miss Katherine and Elijah.
Also this makes sense because it wouldn’t be a super sense so much as a curse if they could never turn it off, as many who have sensitive hearing etc. can tell you lol
Let’s be real, if your older brother was constantly hitting on your girlfriend - sometimes openly - you wouldn’t be cool with it. At all. People have cut off family for less. Stefan has been very cool about the whole situation when he’s had every right to go off on Damon for the way he disrespects his relationship.

It's not like Stefan "went after Damon's girl" in the case of Katherine, she was playing them both, they had no idea or control over the situation... That triangle was not Stefan's idea or choice, he was being compelled if you remember, in fact Damon was actually more aware of the whole situation than Stefan ever was.
@@Alewaxon It actually is a good arguement if you look at it at this view, or the very least is what make this love triangle interesting to me. both Damon and Stefan were attracted to Elena because she resembled Katerina, both learned over time to love her for who she truly is... Kat was a big part of Damon's life, actually big part of both their lives I could argue, the contrast of Kat to Elena is hitting both of them hard with the same weight, one already fell for her, the other learns to, where it's good for Stefan because he becomes the bf, it's bad for Damon, but he just can't help it, can't stop it...almost like his actions are compelled. making it so much similar to the previous love triangle, difference being it's true love for both this time. spoiler I like both ships, they represent Elena's change....one was suitable for when she was a human, the other when she was not.

But the reason I said that it's not a good argument for Damon's actions it's that he is trying to paint the picture that Stefan "made moves on Katherine" and that she was Damon's girl, in order to minimize the fact that Damon is making moves on Elena when she is Stefan's girlfriend... And that simply doesn't work because it isn't true or accurate; The nature of the "relationship" with Katherine was not of Stefan's or Damon's making, she was the one in control moving the pieces... Stefan did not try to steal "Damon's girl" from him or made conscious moves to against his brother's romantic feelings You are talking about something else entirely from what the other comment was trying to put across... Your comparison towards the situations between the Salvatores and Katherine VS the Salvatores and Elena, are interesting and like I said I agree with a lot; I just don't agree with the last part about Damon not being able to "help" himself from throwing himself at Elena while she is with Stefan or his actions being like compulsion, maybe 'disagree' it's not the right word, I just don't think that excuses Damon's actions the same way some people might think it does. I've seem this argument many times, the argument that: "Well, Damon loves her and we can't help what we feel", as if that justifies his forwardness towards Elena... But that doesn't work; Yeah, we can't control our feelings, but we can control our actions and Damon, if he really cared about his brother enough for him to be his #1 priority and to be willing to put everything on the line for him (As we see Stefan do, this and other times, and as the comments saying that "Damon is a great brother" claim), then he should be willing and able to drop the flirting and the insinuations towards Elena, something that he has been doing from day 1, but specially now that the reason why Stefan is apart from Elena IS BECAUSE Stefan choose to save Damon's life and pay a heavy price on his freedom.
@@Alewaxon Not day 1, the beginning is when he is being the villain of the story doing all these horrible things, to Stefan, Elena and his friends...but over time learns to love her...not that this matters. You're right, absolutely right, Damon's actions towards Elena are things we can blame him for, because Damon being Damon just acted on his feelings... But another thing is, Damon was introduced as someone who hated his brother Stefan and wished to exact upon him an Eternity of misery...it's why he killed Lexi and didn't bat an eye, it's why him acting on his "brother's gf" couldn't be excused by the fact that she was his "brother's gf", to him, at that point he didn't think much of their brotherhood, and didn't really care about mending the relationship between them... And that is what the show is about right, them mending their relationship season by season... I think he(Damon) started taking to the mending process in season 2, and by the end of season 1 he was already hooked into Elena... And that is not making excuse for his actions, but to me, just provides reasons for them, as per the context of the story.
“The groomer and the ripper” lmao this is why everyone’s heard of the Salvatores. I’m sure others have answered somewhere in the comments, but I assume Stefan lied to Damon because he wanted them to stop looking for him and didn’t want Damon to know he was still secretly desperate for their help. He called Elena to hold onto something even though he consciously knows they have to stay away. In short, he’s conflicted. He doesn’t know Elena was SURE it was him or that she told Damon. Anyway, I also don’t know why Elena thinks it’s just a matter of Stefan’s free will to return home somehow. Or if now they’re safe because the ritual was done?! I don’t know how much she knows about any of this though, what Damon told her, or even what Damon knows or speculates.
It's all Stefan's fault ? but how, Stefan is lying which he is not good at just for everyone to stay out of sight from Klaus. He did sacrifice his Life for everyone and I think we need to acknowledge his efforts to protect everyone. Even Damon said he is martyr who needs his ass kicked 😂😂

I remember watching season 1 and 2 and thinking, imagine two brothers in real life one the age of 17 and the other in mid 20s fighting for a 17 year old girl
How could Damon do this to his brother right? After he saved his life by giving up his, all he did was making a move on Elena, from the beginning allhe did was tried to make Elena his while she's with his brother, showing up naked in front of her, touching her drawer and her panties, not respecting her privary, told her he loved her right after K rejected her and killed her brother becuz she said he loved Stefan more which is his boyfriend,....... No ones perfect even Stefan but Stefan understand what's honor means, he know the value of family, he know what is loyalty...thats what makes him a better person than Damon
Finally we get to see Caroline's dad in the series. We heard so much things about him throughout the seasons by Caroline constantly visit him and his boyfriend or husband....Actually Jeremy was around grade 9 or 10 while Elena was in the 11th grade... The actress Kat Graham who plays Bonnie was on tour with her music and afterwards working on another film project at the time.... BTW Bill do care about his daughter Carolina and she is more of a daddy's girl. The last seen you saw Sheriff Forbes is in the finale when she shot Jeremy and Bonnie and Caroline save him.
I think one reason why I cant get myself to like damon is because of the lack of respect he has for stefan. Idc if elena likes him or if damon likes her, that's fine but I feel like damon does not reciprocate the same level of respect stefan gives damon in in a brotherly relationship, I mean why else would you be telling your brother's girl 'I want you to remember the things you felt when my brother was gone.' idk i just dont like that line at all. Stefan even after knowing his brother hits on his girl doesn't punch or taunt damon, he constantly trusts them both.

stefan spent all of season one not telling elena of his past but insisting damon was a 'MoNsTeR' and can't be trusted... his own brother SPOILERS and then in season 4 when elena chooses damon he still tries to convince elena she's not in love with damon because she's not allowed to love a MoNsTeR like that he later backs off but he also is pushing it and thinking elena is still in love with him even when people tell him the sire bond is out of love so let's not act like stefan is on any moral high ground he has also really talked down about damon every chance he got especially to elena so he could make sure she doesn't like him (damon) and even here stefan has made it clear HE IS NOT WITH ELENA at this moment so this is why damon is telling elena this and shooting his shot to not forget her own feelings towards damon when they save stefan because it's HER decision ultimately whether she loves damon back, he's not manipulating anything elena says she first fell in love with damon in 3x1 (in season 6 she says this) and she though he was attractive since season one so damon is telling her to manage her own feelings towards him because he knows she's into him too (bc it's painfully obvious) damon does push things but lets not act like stefan is innocent and pure when it comes to this, they all aren't and did you forget stefan punching damon in season 4 or literally trying to fight him last season until elena and elijah broke it up or

I think it's also because he didn't want to admit it to himself that he still cared about her. The guilt of what Klaus has had him do over the summer took a toll on him. Probably didn't think he deserved her now so he figured she was probably better off without him. And it keeps her safe from Klaus.

Side note: not that it’s one of the most toxic it’s one of the biggest fandoms from one of the biggest shows, the bigger the batch of apples the bigger percent chance of finding rotten ones. This applies to anything. The amount of different opinions grows with the viewers ranges, like game of thrones is one example. Especially when there are two very drastic sides. I’m good with debates but when it gets to people being rude and disrespectful that really does get annoying. But also it’s one of the biggest fandoms and it was all super fun back then :)
