Kol is a breath of fresh air especially when the Originals are around. He’s less serious than the others and has a lightheartedness about him despite being a psychopath lol. I really hope the guys watch the originals, it’s a more mature and (to me) enjoyable show compared to TVD because of the lack of constant love triangles and gossiping. Also, I feel bad for Bonnie. Shane is a creep and she trusted him just to be manipulated. I feel like that’s being overlooked because Bonnie as a character gets overlooked a lot until the last minute when she has to come in and save everyone…
to me also! the originals is like my baby and i'm very biased towards the show cause despite having it's inaccuracies, It clicked with me instantly. I was addicted. I was extremely fed up with the delena stelena drama, so I dropped tvd at season 5 ep 20 or something and started TO and still haven't finished either show yet, but I know I love originals wayy more. Also, Kol and Finn grew on me on that show! it really did the original family justice. And yes, they're gonna watch it after season 4!
Kol compelled Damon to forget he was told to kill Jeremy so he didn’t know when the compulsion happened. Damon told Jeremy to run and to kill him when he realized what must’ve happened. Stefan knew that he was being compelled to attack Elena in season 3 and wasn’t told to forget. They were both compelled to attack two different people, one Jeremy the other Elena. It’s pointless to even compare the two situations but people do.
I loved Stefan in this episode, all the attitude of his ripper-days, without the killing. I was sort of disappointed that Elena didn't manage to break Damon's compulsion, I was hoping they would be so deeply bonded that compulsion couldn't get in the way. On the other hand, this made for a much more interesting plotline. I adore Kol, Elena's plan to kill him is brilliant but it breaks my heart.
I honestly would have been so disappointed if Damon was, like, "Ohhhh, because we love each other" and called off the Jeremy-killing. I loved how we got to see another Mikaelson compel another Salvatore to hurt another Gilbert. Damon was begging Jeremy to kill him and recognised he'd been compelled even though Kol told him to forget. He fought it in the same manner Stefan did when he was ramming himself into lockers and staking his stomach while power speeding toward Elena. It showed that Elena's love impacts both brothers while still maintaining how strong compulsion is. The only difference is that Stefan knew he had been compelled by Klaus whereas Damon didn't. So I thought Damon had a slightly harder battle to fight.
The plan between Elena and Jeremy is smart and solves two problems in one. Kol attacked Jeremy and Klaus said Kol will stop at nothing. Both Klaus and Rebekah are aware that he is after Jeremy and neither successfully stopped him. He also compelled Damon so this is the best solution for them rn. Staking Kol will protect Jeremy and break Damon’s compulsion. Damon telling Jeremy to kill him bc he didn’t want to hurt him and Jeremy not wanting to is underrated. So is when Elena calls Damon’s name in the Mystic Grill and he snaps out of the trance like state he was in when he saw Jeremy.
@@frikadell She’s caring but she’s always been willing to do what ever is necessary to protect her loved ones. This doesn’t undermine her character. Multiple other characters have planned/attempted to do the same to the originals but they don’t get nearly as much criticism. Stefan and Caroline were planning on killing Rebekah just last episode and last season they were all trying to figure out which original sired them so that they could kill the other ones. This isn’t new. Also, she isn’t doing all of this bc she wants to get her hands on the cure. It would be hypocritical if she was just changing her opinion but she told Stefan she didn’t want to strip Jeremy of his humanity and in this episode she says “I don’t care about the cure Damon, not if it means putting the people that I love in danger”. They already have Jeremy staking vampires, Klaus tried turning a bunch of people and having them go after her brother, Kol was mentioning cutting Jeremy’s arms, Damon was compelled. It’s not just her suddenly deciding to go for the cure, everybody wants it. “She’s willing to go this far herself to get it” idk why your acting like this is about her wanting the cure badly when every single other character wants it more than her and going after it wasn’t her idea in the first place. The plan to kill Kol only came about after her messed with the people she loves. You’re literally twisting her motives so that it seems like she’s suddenly obsessed with the cure. Spoilers When they find out there’s only one cure Elena doesn’t think it’s fair for her to be the one to take it when so many others want it as well. She also wants Damon to take it when he has the werewolf venom so that he can be saved and offers it to Stefan at the end of the season. That is not someone focused on just the cure. She can and has put her desires to be a human aside. I didn’t comment on Stefan trying to fix Elena or what he’s done to get the cure in any of the last episodes so I’m not being hypocritical. Since you brought it up, the issue was never Elena wanting or not wanting to be human, it was the way Stefan was making her feel about being a vampire and him triggering Jeremy’s urges to become stronger by making him stake a vampire. She can accept herself as a vampire and still want to be a human if there’s an option. The point is that she does find positives to being a vampire, such as healing people, and even calls it awesome at one point. She wants a human life but she’s no longer in denial or struggling with coming to terms with herself as a vampire. That doesn’t mean she has to release her desire to have kids and grow old. Pls take your ‘Elena has changed and is willing to go to any lengths for herself’ agenda elsewhere.

Rebekah had the opportunity to dagger Kol and Klaus was there but they didn’t despite knowing that Kol had compelled Damon and that he was determined to get Jeremy. Klaus even knows that Kol will come after Jeremy and tells him and Elena so. Elena is thinking about protecting her brother and breaking Damon’s compulsion, you’re the one making it out to be like she suddenly needs the cure and will stop at nothing to have it. She didn’t do a 180 flip and Idk why you’re trying to insert my ship preference as if that’s why I disagree with you. She changed just like any other character who’s turned into a vampire but she isn’t a completely new person. If you think she had a 180 change and doesn’t have some of the same traits she had when she was a human then maybe you never understood her character to begin with. This is a series with 8 seasons, she is going to grow as a person after her experiences not remain in the exact same mindset she had at 17 years old. I’m sure others have the same opinion as you/they would love to hear your thoughts and I hope this doesn’t come off as rude bc it’s not my intention but I’m not really interested in engaging in future discussions with you based off of some of the things you’ve said in your replies to me in these reaction videos bc it seems to me like you disregard things that are true in the show. @@frikadell It’s not about you assuming bc it’s very obvious that I ship Delena, it’s that you included that as if that has anything to do with my opinion. I would be saying the exact same thing about Elena even if it were Stefan in Damon’s shoes and Elena was with him. She’s not happy to end a sire line, she’s just speaking factually about what will be the result. If she randomly wanted to go after Kol and end his sire line for no reason then you’d be right to call it suspicious but that’s not what’s going on. In the scene Jeremy is saying how if Kol doesn’t kill him first it’s never going to end bc Klaus is going to force him to kill more innocent people. He wonders how many it’s going to take and that’s when the plan is brought up. We’re really going to continue with the whole “Elena was selfless, compassionate, and didn’t harm people but she changed” narrative? Spoilers All vampire Elena/later seasons * Elena and Matt go over the bridge, first concern she has when she wakes up is if Matt is okay * Elena is struggling to keep her hunger in control but goes up to speak about April’s father. * Conner takes Jeremy, April, and Matt and Elena wants to offer herself as a trade * The hybrids take Caroline and Elena tries to get them to torture her instead * Elena tells Stefan “if getting my humanity back means stripping Jeremy of his, then I don’t want the cure” * Elena tells Damon “I don’t care about the cure Damon, not if it means putting the people that I love in danger” * Elena finds out there’s only one cure and says “there’s only one cure? I can’t take it. I mean, not above everyone else who deserves it just as much as I do” * Damon offers Elena the cure as a graduation present and once again she says she can’t take it bc there’s only one then later offers it to Stefan * Elena is hurting and having a breakdown but isn’t willing to bring back everyone on the other side just to get her brother back * When Elena isn’t hearing from Bonnie in s5 she says “poor Bonnie, she must have tried to call me. Has anyone talked to her? Is she ok?” * When Elena finds out that Bonnie is dead she feels guilty that she didn’t know and then does everything in her power to get her back as the anchor in s5 “it’s my fault for not figuring it out sooner” even though there would’ve been no way for her to know bc Jeremy was emailing. She even makes sure Qetsiyah finishes the spell before she dies. * Elena forgives Katherine and says “you weren’t born evil. Your life made you that way” “you lost everyone that you cared about way too young and you didn’t have a family that looked after you” * Despite being a vampire she wants to be a Doctor “seeing sick people get better, it’s inspiring” * Elena feels compassion for both Aaron and for what was done to Damon. She feels bad for the torture Damon went through without anyone knowing but also wanted to be a friend to Aaron and didn’t want Wes to die “what about Aaron, Damon? He didn’t deserve that. Wes was pretty much the closest thing that Aaron had to a family” * Elena comforts Damon when Lily is brought back from the prison world * S6 Damon asks what’s her favorite thing about being a vampire and she says “I guess if I had to choose one thing it would be that I can heal people” * Elena tries to save lives and prevent Tyler from triggering his curse in s6 in the corn maze * When Alaric goes over the border and can no longer bring back her memories so he apologizes Elena says “no, no, no, Alaric. I’m just glad that you’re okay” * Elena almost feeds on the girl from the lecture she attended in college s4 but her compassion stops her bc she sees a picture of the girl’s little sister. * In s6 Elena is trying to help get Bonnie back * Elena helps Caroline organize Liz’s funeral, is with her through the entire thing, stays with Liz while Caroline goes deal with what’s happening by buying flowers, and then offers her support the day of the funeral. * When Caroline is upset over Tyler deferring Elena comforts her * Elena is worried about not hearing from Stefan for months and then feels bad that she had a great summer while unbeknown to her he was drowning. * In her last moments seeing her friends she tells them all something inspiring and makes sure Bonnie doesn’t feel bad. “Bonnie Bennett, you’ve spent your entire life making sacrifices for me. Now it’s my turn to do it for you” * In s8 when she sees Bonnie she says “this isn’t how it’s supposed to be. No, you can’t die” * Elena saves Katherine from Nadia and tells her to run * Although she wants to be a human and live a human life, when Damon says he’ll take the cure as well she makes sure it’s what he really wants. * Elena doesn’t want Damon to continue torturing Liv after Liv attacks her at the school and tells Damon “let’s go” when Jeremy shows up and asks for their trust * Elena saves Jo when her father was trying to kill her * When they return to the prison world with Kai, Elena says she doesn’t want to leave Bonnie alone with him and doesn’t leave until Bonnie says she’s fine * When Elena sees Jeremy again near the end of season 4 she says “I did some pretty terrible things” (when her humanity was off). She also apologizes to Bonnie for being horrible. * Elena saves Sarah when Liam is about to operate on her * Elena comforts Caroline about Stefan And there’s more moments. The traits you mentioned are still there no matter if she’s human or vampire. If you still want to think that she did a 180 and became a new person then go ahead but that isn’t what I think is true based off of her actions in the show.
Bros the thousand weaknesses Bonnie has shown, needing to channel ancestry magic, losing her powers after doing a powerful spell, noise bleed, almost collapsing or dying...y'all aint seen overly-powered witches yet
They've done a lot of dumb shit on this show but I still feel like the dumbest shit they did was killing an original vampire just for the sake of jeremy's tattoo which just leads to another chaotic scenario. Yes kol is annoying but come on killing him? they're the main preachers of 'not all vampires are bad', aren't they? Doing that, they probably killed more people even klaus has killed in his entire life. Like who tf woke up one day and thought 'yo maybe let's kill kol' I still don't get the point of that. Looking at how further jeremy's tattoo spreads every time, it looked like it'd take like 10 more vampires for the tattoo to be revealed fully. They fucking ended a clan.
About why Klaus didn't compell Elena to step out of the house- I think to be able to compell someone you have to be literally infront of someone, be close and make eye contact, for it to work. Elena being inside the house gave her enough space to be "safe" from his compulsion!
Imo I don’t think that Stefan saying “you don’t know what I look like when I’m not in love with you ” was a great line in terms of what it represented for Stefan and Elena. I’m glad you guys touched on the fact that Elena never really knew him. He’s always had the upper hand bc he stalked her, saw her records, and wanted to start a life with her while she wasn’t aware of his existence yet. I think that not being in love with someone shouldn’t mean that you’re now going to be a different person and it makes it seem like he fabricated a persona or chose what side of him he would show her to get her to like him. It’s also not a good line bc he’s literally still in love with her and Elena does know what he looks like when he isn’t in love with her, she’s seen him without his humanity.
Exactly. I don't understand why any Stefan fan would take that line as a win because it makes him look worse. I didn't like the line for him because it makes it seem like he was pretending all this time. Which put in the context of how he orchestrated to meet Elena...seems creepy.

Ehh you have a point but you don’t at the same time. Stefan did do all of that research on a girl who looked exactly like Katherine in mystic falls of all places, so it’s understandable. And Stefan has always acted the same, his usually brooding with guilt while being selfless and loving and caring. He acted different only when he was around Lexi.

Stefan was able to resist compulsion because it was about killing Elena. Damon does not love Jeremy, so it didn't work. I'm pretty sure if Damon was compelled to kill Elena, he would be able to resist.
It's not really that simple. It wasn't just love. Stefan could resist the compulsion temporarily and barely because he had decades of practicing impulse control where Damon has spend a century living by his impulses. Just like how Bill and Shane can resist the compulsion by training with no feelings involved.
@@olavihekandjo2928 I’ve never thought about it this way. I think I agree with you. It goes to show how strongly Stefan feels bloodlust to be able to resist and original hybrid’s compulsion.
Stefan has a stronger will power against compulsion than Damon, but against blood Stefan has no will power. Damon doing his best can't resist the compulsion but Stefan did.
I'm not sure if you guys started S5 yet but if you haven't, its the perfect time to start the originals. first you should watch the S5 premiere and then s1 of the originals in order to keep up with the timeline. after that there's still a specific order but to make it less complicated just go back and forth with each season from each show.
So basically if you have a negative opinion of Elena you get damned in these comments, is what I can tell from the past few videos. Some of you guys need to enjoy the reaction and stop trying to condemn and insult people who don’t like the same characters or storylines as you, keep in mind some people watching aren’t TVD hardcore fans but just want to enjoy the reaction with the guys and have CIVIL discussions.

Maybe I missed something but couldn't Klaus compel Damon not to kill Jer? It is in Klaus's best interest to keep Jeremy alive after all. Is there some canon that I'm forgetting that says one origanal vamp can't change the compulsion that another origanal put on someone? This was bugging me the whole last half of the show.
Damon couldn't overpower Klaus' compulsion. Remember in 1x17 when Damon was trying to get in someone's house and the owner was compelled not to let him in. When he eventually killed the owner, Alaric protested and asked why he didn't just compel her.
@@rach3l629 I disagree. Klaus could totally overpower Klaus' compulsion. Early in season 1 Damon is able to overpower Stefan's compulsion on Vicki. That to me meant stronger or older vampire can overpower a weaker or younger vampire's compulsion. The episode you referenced was a tomb vampire that was older and stronger than Damon, so it made sense why Damon didn't even bother reversing the compulsion.
@@rach3l629 doesn't matter. It's explained in the show that one vampire can not change a compulsion from another vampire. The vampire who did the compelling is the only one who can do something.
I'm sorry but people trying to discredit what Stefan said to Elena is comical to me 😭He meant that shit and he was spot on but you can't deny Stefan was also doing it out of spite and knew it would bother her come on Stefan be for real... I think they are all hypocritical, not just Elena . The only thing Elena irritates me with is that she doesn’t seem to hold herself to the same standards. Thousands of vampire had to die for this and there could've been good vampires just like them that have noe died for no reason.
Hated Stefan this ep. He was so petty and couldn’t let go. Also how are you gonna blame someone else for not knowing you when it’s your responsibility to show your true colours. When he says he won’t do the right thing because she doesn’t know what it looks like when he isn’t in love with her, it’s gross because that means that he was faking being kind only for her instead of genuinely being a kind person who does the right thing. He was taking out everything on her, even putting someone’s life at risk to do so.
