I always thought he was depicting himself as alone, by himself, on his own path, but still walking his life’s road. And no matter what, he was intent on keeping going, refusing to let others get in his way or stop him from walking the road he knows is his.

That street is where I used to buy my groceries when I lived in London. So many times I wish I had the guts to walk down the street like this. Everyone is wrapped up in their own little bubble of self, that I don't think they'd even notice if Elvis walked past them.

If you really want a surprise go check out who wrote this song !! Others have said the video is a metaphor for life's journey but it is also in part a homage to Massive Attack's Unfinished Sympathy video.

I love this song. I loved it when it came out. I hope you do some Foo Fighters. Taylor Hawkins passed away yesterday and it would be a great way to honor him. He was awesome!

Great comment Kelli! I know Dave and everyone is very shook up right now, but some great Foo Fighters music would be a great remedy. How about "My Hero" or "Everlong"? Please watch the "Learning to fly video" everyone...this band is one of the best, never taking themselves seriously 😋

When these guys die, almost always prematurely, everyone is always in shock and always do a lot of post mortem butt kissing. Bad lifestyle choices are almost always the reason and they have no one to blame but themselves.

@@skiptowne5724 yep, I agree. Taylor was known as more of a party guy anyway. Dave seems to be too intelligent, too in control, too much of a focused family man. I can see him doing some weed once in a while, but nothing heavier. A lot like Eddie Vedder. Vedder drinks like a fish though lol

Listened to this hundreds of times but it never gets old. The message of this video says to me 'Live your life as you wish and don't let anyone get in your way' - and at the end, when the band comes at the end - 'Join me'. This is Richard Ashcroft, who has proved himself a man of principle over the last period, calling out the pointless authoritarianism which Canada, in particular, has suffered. Epic!

Hi KSO, Richard Ashcroft ( the lead singer ) was said to say he hated making this video as this was not him and felt uncomfortable with it, but it got the reaction the director was aiming for. It's also the anthem for English Football on commercial TV in England

The video is a metaphor for life. The approving young woman is a one night stand, the woman he knocked down is a relationship that ended badly, the blacked out car is some section of society that you hear of but never get access to etc etc.

Notice the girl with crutches the singer circles around to not hit. Of course that couldn't be done, because that likely not an actress or else would taken things too far. The elderly lady was shock value enough.
