I used to live in Merrylands in the early 80's and at Christmas, dad used to make my sister and I take a 6 Pack of KB Lager cold and run out in pajamas to give it to the guys on the truck who usually came boxing day morning and wish them Merry Christmas and thank them so much. Different times in 1984 or was it ? ... was this the dented bin tariff being paid because I dont recall a dented bin.

@@Mr101beers LOL, that's right, i remember KB Long necks, My dad did KB as well. however, you were in Merrylands, i was in Bonnyrigg and it was a shit hole back in the 80s, Maybe they took more care with your bins, but we basically lived in a slum, Social Security Housing Basically Houseo's before the term Houseo existed we called it Housing Commission Another thing i remember (but this was in Cabramatta West in the 70s) was the milkman who used to bring milk bottles to your door with the tin foil lids There was something special about having Cornflakes in the morning that came straight out of a bottle that you peeled off a foil lid to. it just tasted better that way

@@martinkuliza Bonnyrigg...Crikey mate, you're lucky to have survived 70's Fairfield. 80's Merrylands and Wenty kids aren't soft but we were warned about the same kids from Fairfield stealing BMX bikes from Greystanes kids in Central Gardens Park lol. Don't forget collecting the foil milk bottle caps for arts and crafts in kindergarten. More over dont forget the school banks that took our money each week to teach us to save but today put our variable up 4% in 12 months without even a free money box.

THAT'S RIGHT ... haha I remember in Arts and Crafts... making a kite out of that thin paper and a few dowels and i remember paper Mache, where you blew up a balloon, Mixed some Clag Glue with water, then cut up paper strips and dip it in then layer it on the balloon and the cool part, you blow up the balloon while the exterior gets hard and remains then you paint it and get a blue , Silver or gold Star i remember 5 blue stars = 1 silver and 3 silver = 1 gold I never got a gold star Just blue and a few silvers but i do remember if you were good you got a scratch n sniff sticker NOW..
