I am a lifelong Swiss Army Knife user & collector. In the 91mm size (I have SAKS in most sizes from 58mm to 130mm in my collection ) the Huntsman is my favorite. I currently have 13 Huntsman & 3 Huntsman Lites. 3 of my Huntsman are unused collectables with decorative scales & 10 in my active EDC rotation, they include 1 SilverTech scaled, 1 Navy Cammo scaled, I each of Rubi Red & Sapphire Blue regular scales & 6 with Plus scales - Black, Rubi, Sapphire, Blue, Yellow & White. Of my 3 Huntsman Lite one is retired - its the same model as yours with the Grey battery housing & the original white LED light (bought it 2nd hand 8 years ago & had good use out of it ) my other 2 are the newer version with the transparent battery housing & a much stronger white LED light that is on all post 2019 models . I bought one in Dec 2020 & the other in Dec 2021 when they were on the annual year end clearance sale from my local Victorinox dealer at 50% discount & have kept one with its Rubi Plus scales & fitted the other one with Sapphire Plus scales. IMO its hard to beat a Huntsman or Huntsman Lite for combined urban & countryside EDC both on the range of tools carried, easy to pocket carry size & value for money. I have other 91mm carry SAK's in my EDC rotation - the Ranger, the Mountaineer & the Explorer but a Huntsman variant is the one I most frequently carry.
that is awesome. i gifted one of my huntsman lites to my family for christmas and picked up another cybertool lite with newest led module. i love the huntsman lite , cybertool lite and swisschamp. if i had the money id get an expedition lite !
@@TheFossilChannel Wishing you & family a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. I don't have a SwissChamp, expedition lite or a CyberTool Lite (I've got the Cybertool M ) but I do have 2 x the Spartan Lites ( both bought on sale ), 1 with Rubi red plus scales & 1 with SilverTech scales ( both are old LED versions ) and 2 of the 2021 limited edition Climber Lites ( bought 1 for my collection & bought the 2nd one at a 50% discount during the Dec.2021 clearance sale & I have it in my EDC rotation . There used to be a Mountaineer Lite with Sapphire blue translucent Plus scales but they discontinued it 6 or 7 years ago. I wish they would make a Compact lite, even with 3 layers it would be a great EDC SAK
The huntsman lite, in my opinion, is almost perfect. It has less bulk and weight than the swiss champ but retains most of the useful tools. It's missing the file/saw.
The light makes a ton of sense. Everyone who spends time in the outdoors carries a high power flashlight. However there is great use in a low power light for close up work that doesn’t give away your position or totally destroy your night vision. Along with all the other implements this knife has, the light was the final deciding factor for me.
I like both knives I think the translucent scales are beautiful I have a champ onlyAnd I added the 3rd slot without removing the scale should be easier for you to do with a translucent scale get your toothpick back I've also heard that the light module is removable from the knife I'm not sure if that's true on all models or if that was just model that I saw the vid on But as far as what I think I think they're both beautiful knives
I also have come to use the huntsman light all the time for get to turn the lights on that knife gives enough light to use my keys I'm constantly finding it to be handy
I have the Rambler for daily carry, the Huntsman with toothpick ferro rod, tinder and micro driver. I replaced the scales for plus scales, giving me the pen.
I think if they added a saw and a pliers set i would be happy with that as my ultimate 91mm platform. Basically a Swiss champ with the lite module would be perfect for me and my needs.
the pliers is a great light weight duty tool. i use it for electronics work and for smaller spaces my main leathermans may have trouble getting to. If I plan on doing more mechanical work that day I will switch it to a Leatherman supertool 300 or swiss tool, if its an outdoor setting, probably a swiss champ or the huntsman lite, if its working on ham radio and electronic components, id use the tinkerer if i had one, but then i have the swiss champ already.
