Someone commented this on zedaph’s recent episode, but it’s genuinely so heartwarming seeing tango’s friends force him out of the dungeon and distract him with a few minutes of fun nonsense during the final quarter of his massive project

My favorite thing about this whole episode is Bdubs insisting his game allows you to "win a FREE horse!" but it costs a Diamond block to play

Hearing Tango say “this guy cooks” is killing me.

I'd suggest reducing the number of balls available per game. It's normal in the carnival games to only give 3 balls. Perhaps set up some Redstone that provides 3 snowballs to the barrel when one diamond block is placed in.

Allocating 10G to minecraft isnt going to cause your memory to go bad lol. More than likely (if its actually a memory issue) one of your sticks went bad and allocating the extra ram just made the issue more prevalent. Swapping out memory is probably one of the easier repairs to do through.

I'm just picturing Bdubs running out of the house, computer tower cradled in his arms, panic on his face. Poor guy.

For the horse game, just make a clock that locks the pistons periodically. Then winning is less likely.

It may not be faulty memory! You may want to check your power supply, especially if it’s an old computer. One of my friends and I have both had the same MEMORY_MANAGEMENT blue screen errors on loop because of flaky PSU’s.

Next to the horse dispenser would be a perfect place for a barrel with a sign: “Saddles 2 diamond blocks”

FWIW, allocating too much RAM shouldn't be capable of actually damaging anything. However if somehting was already damaged, using more of your computer's memory may have increased the odds that the bad ram was included.

Allocating RAM will not harm the performance of the device. It's intended to be possible to do that. The problem actually sounds like a storage problem, as in your HDD, SSD or N.VMe is failing. I'd advise using a program like crystal disk check to check their performance out. This is a pretty common problem and I've seen it a lot.

Bit of a late reply, but if you haven't done so already, a good and easy thing to check is using MemTest86. Throw it on a thumb drive, enter it from BIOS, and just let it run overnight while you sleep. You "should" run it for 24 hours, but it's pretty likely you'll be more than fine with just an overnight run. Easily allows you to rule out RAM, either by it being good, or by detecting it's bad and replacing it, and then from there you can tell if there was more issues. If not memory, I'd guess motherboard and/or CPU. I've had to deal with bad memory before, and had a motherboard die and take the CPU with it. Always a pain in the butt to figure out what's wrong, especially if you don't have compatible parts you can swap out to test with.

Bdubs is the greatest personality on the internet. He must be protected at all costs. Every episode is a hoot. I love this guy.

Love the horsie game. Do you think increasing the distance between thrower and target would be enough to increase the difficulty? Maybe having something else going back and forth between or armor stands jumping up and down to distract even more? A bit of a missed opportunity to call it Pony Pop. We all know how much the hermits love alliterations. But then again, I guess you wouldn't be able to center the banners with a four letter word. This episode was so scuffed, but I laughed non-stop from start to finish. Proof that tech set up doesn't really matter all that much when you're a top-tier entertainer like Bdubs.

To really rig the game, you could add a pressure plate on the carnival barker side, hooked up to the rest with redstone, so that if the carny stands on it, it's impossible to win (or vice versa).

Trust me Bdubs, you need to do backups plus you should run your important stuff on a mirrored storage (RAID1). This is your tool to make money and should be handled as one too. I worked in for about 30 years with servers and networks, plus been building my own gaming computers since Intel 386 CPU came out. Cloud backups cost peanuts these days and I’m sure you easily can get a sponsor for a good gaming rig!

Hi Bdubs, for a genuine rigged-carnival-game experience, you could power the trapdoors on the counter randomly to block the line of sight.

You could make the game even harder by having the player sit on a tamed horse with no saddle in the throwing area, so it adds movement randomness to the equation.

Truly superior redstone. Very nice video, and it’s always nice to see Tango dragged out of the cave! Bdubs was really not prepared for instantly being out matched there. Yeh bafflement.

You could perhaps add an additional piston/redstone contraption to occasionally limit the horses high jump. For that extra randomness factor.

Look into getting a NAS into your place and get an automatic PC backup running there you can access at any time :) Or get an IT place to do it for you

Bdubs, run a memtest to be sure if the dimms are defected. (right-click the Start icon and choose Run or click the Search icon, enter mdsched and press enter) If it's a hardware issue then it's best to replace the dimms. You can easily do it by yourself! (Your redstone magic is your diploma) If it was a hardware issue then Kevin would not be able to complete the installation. I suspect it's something with java and all the plugins you hermits are using. "Homebuilt" java applications are notorious for memory leaking. That's why you are receiving the beloved bluescreens while you are in middle of gaming.. Try resetting the ram usage conf. if that does not work try disabling one plugin at the time to identify which one is causing the prob.

Bdubs! I know it’s been a little while since this episode came out now, but basically with Minecraft you should go by allocating up to 6gb before it starts REALLY diminishing. 10gb will certainly just BRICK your computer occasionally. Hope this helps!

Hello Bdubs! I’ve watched you since i was a kid bc my dad loves watching you. I saw that if you breed horses after putting a splash swiftness and leaping potion on the horses it will make that baby horse faster and jump higher. I’ve haven’t tried myself but i think you should try :)

Some free hotguy lessons could be one of the items you negotiate with Scar for when he's ready to talk about repayment for the loss of your beloved horse. Don't forget, they blew up docs machine and threw tons of merch and diamonds at him. I would think your horse is worth at least that much. The machine can be rebuilt but Mi Amor is gone forever!

10 gig (10240 mb) allocating should be fine. We always use at least 10 gig allocating when playing modded minecraft like iskall's Vault Hunter or Enigmatica etc.

Allocating 10GB ram to java when running minecraft shouldn't have done anything to your memory. It could be memory problems but as a result of age or something else these happened

Over-allocating ram isn't going to damage anything. However you may have failing memory, you can use something like memtest86 to test your system ram (it goes onto a USB stick and you boot into it and leave it running for a few hours. However it could be almost anything failing, but GPU would be another good guess.

Honestly haven't watched you in awhile but man were you one of my childhood RU-vidrs most of you mind crackers were. Your VLogs really got me hooked at one point and was amazing to see you are your family so happy even at some tough times. Glad you are still posting and bringing positivity to the world. You are doing amazing work bdubs and I hope life treats you amazingly.

If you REALLY want the carnival experience, I suggest a ticket stand where you exchange diamond blocks for tickets (like 1 diamond block for 5 tickets, then the horse game is 4 tickets). You gotta obfuscate exactly how much the game costs. You can also make it so a bullseye only wins 50% of the time. There's plenty of plausible deniability.

Sounds Like a RAM issue more than your Hard Drive. Don't toss it, when you get a new PC, it can be very easy to salvage your stored data. Sometimes even when it is the Hard Drive failing. Think of RAM as your current thought, and your Hard Drive as past memories. Good Luck Brother!

I too learned the herd way of not backing up my laptop. I lost an entire years worth of footage for my high school robotics team and it was soul crushing

Heya Bdubs, search how to remove a ram stick if you don't know how from your pc. If you have 2 sticks of ram, your computer can run off of 1. If you have more than 2, test each stick on its own or even in pairs. One of them could have gone bad. It may give you enough stability to work without interruption. If it does work, then you know for sure it is the ram and you can just order a new set.

With all those blue screens, if you aren't doing a wipe, make sure to run the windows cleanup tool(click the system files button). Could be GIGs of temp crash files

The trash talk really improves the game.. Maybe you could add some redstone so that if you hit the non center a sound plays? Or when a sculk sensor thing detects an animal getting hurt sound you also trash talk? I absolutely can't do redstone so don't know if that's possible, but you are the expert, so should be easy, even if it's impossible!

Definitely a hard drive issue. If windows can’t boot then it has corrupted in the very first part of the hard drive where windows lives. I’d get a new drive or re install windows

You could add a machine to the target block detector that determines by chance whether or not the horse drops. Even if they hit a bull's eye, the horse may still not drop. That way you get to determine the liklihood of success which, like any good carnival game, could be next to impossible.

Let's hope it's ONLY the memory that was gunged up and dying and that replacing fixes everything
