Unreal stuff Vinny, great to see her perspective on the war. It’s interesting to see how she doesn’t distinguish Americans vs Vietnamese tremendously, she truly only sees one race, the human race. During times of immense division, I hope this video shows people that we are not that different. If this kind women can see the good in her country’s opponents, then why can’t we? Also, you handled that prick well, it really wasn’t that serious, he didn’t need to get tender. Love this type of video, really informational and interesting to hear different perspectives. Stay grinding Vinny, I feel it manifesting 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you for this comment Alex, agreed tam has an incredible perspective that was refreshing to hear, such a nice lady. It was fun to make a video like this, but you don’t think it was too long? Pushing an hour and a half

@@Vinnyrumba that’s more of an opinion based situation, I personally enjoy the longer videos but many people don’t have the attention span or time

As a Vietnamese oversea, coming from Vietnam in my 20s, I do actually support my current government. Even they are communist. Because it's working. They are a functional government that doubles its country GPD every 10 years since. Almost no terrorism, keeps their people happy. What it feels to me, I was & am free to do what ever the hell I wanna do in Vietnam, just dont be in jail. For example by disobeying laws, commiting crimes, saying bad things to the government - like rallying up people spreading hoaxes (like big scale - that would get you locked up in the States by the FBI too). Personal freedom, no complaint. you can have a coffee with people & saying bad things about the government, no one cares, but if you start making documents & stuffs & start publishing, the police gonna knock on ya. I mean, yeah. Why don't they just have a normal protest all signed up, right? Freedom of press, well, in 2024, all news are biased. The hatred for communism actually only lasts on Boomer gen. My mom & dad were born in the 60s & 70s in the South, my mom doesnt give a shit about politics & stuffs, only my dad hates communism soooooo much. I'm a millenial, well, video games & guns are my shit. I love going around & shoot whatever whenever I have my vacation in Vietnam. In short, communism is a boomer thing. The current government works. 'It just works"- Todd Howard.

I think it depends on which country , which level of communism . Vietnam sounds like it is has a good balance . Whereas some other countries the communism is to strict

There are good people and bad people, but overall, the American war in Vietnam was a mistake by those in power (goverment). People who interacted with good people say Americans were good, but if she had lived in My Lai, the story would be different. If she had been harmed by South Korean soldiers, she wouldn’t have spoken kindly. That’s life. She criticizes and considers those who don’t share her perspective as ignorant. She constantly searches for evidence proving they are good and clings to it, but life will always have multiple perspectives, and she only sees it through the lens she chooses. She doesn’t mention massacres, house burnings, protests being beaten-she only talks about the good. It's like the perspective of a Palestinian child lucky enough to have Israeli citizenship and be protected by Israelis, which is very different from the perspective of a child growing up in Gaza, living in fear of bombs and seeing loved ones die before their eyes. During wartime, it was hard to recognize the enemy when Vietnamese worked for the Americans and could harm North Vietnamese forces, so she might have been hurt if she ended up in a combat zone near Americans. She is very fortunate to have been saved many times by good Americans, and this shaped her outlook on life. She’s simply sharing her story, and I respect and appreciate that-that’s the reality of war. But when Nation A massacres Nation B on the land of Nation B, it’s wrong. That’s what Israel is doing, and what America once did. History has many perspectives, but there is only one answer in a courtroom. And without good Americans, these massacres would never have been brought to trial; it’s a small part of many other events that took place. There were also bad incidents on the side of North Vietnam. I hope you have a happy time traveling in Vietnam. Thank you for choosing Vietnam as one of the countries on your life’s travel list.

"I was crazy" "i am too young"...yeah every story has two sides. So do her stories....

Always, I believe she was saying this as her answer to why she was putting her self in harms way following the war. “She was crazy and young” it didn’t seem to affect her then but surely did once she grew.

Many American veterans already went back to Vietnam to apologize and tried to heal the wounds left by them during the war . But you a youngster who has never been here before is coming to our country with a revenge mindset and trying to bring back painful memories . I know you and your family are still bitter and can not swallow your defeat . The bad point is the victims already forgave their aggressors but those ones are still angry and can not forget the past . That is the truth and please don't erase my comment .
@Vinnyrumba
@Vinnyrumba 5 дней назад
You’re comment is how you feel, and that’s just your perception of it, which you are allowed to have. But I promise you I am not bitter or my family about the war, I think it’s the opposite, never talked about, no one knows. What I tried doing was bring the topic back yo since it seems “forgotten” to me

I think there is a general embarrassment, humiliation in USA histpry because of losing the war. But not a bitter feeling . The bitter feeling is how the USA government doesn't take proper care of USA soldiers after the war and now still. Unfortunately we need to keep talking about painful history so we don't forget and hopefully don't repeat the same problem

There were Aussie Diggers (Australian soldiers. ANZAC australian , new zealand army corp) in Vietnam too with the USA. There were some low key epic battles that aussies were a part of . But like USA we didn't treat our soldiers properly

All wars sucks . It's the ordinary soldiers on all sides , civilians and their families that suffer physical injuries/ disability and emotional trauma or don't survive. And it can have generational effects of resentment/ hatred or revenge
