Here's another little slice of life from a bench for you to enjoy. This time it's looking towards the beautiful church in my village on a very hot summer's day. As you can hear in the background the peregrine is calling from the church tower and the bees are buzzing around. Sometimes it's lovely to just sit and watch the world go by in silence, other times it's a joy to have a chat with friendly face. Unfortunately for many people living in isolation having a person to talk to, to hear what they have to say rarely happens, in fact for two fifths of all older people the television is their main company. That's why I have set up The Friendly Bench project which aims to provide friendship in an accessible, inclusive and supportive outdoor community space for people living in isolation and those with restricted mobility.
