Villager made it into Smash because the player character in Animal Crossing is, by far, the most capable of violence. The game lets you do things that are borderline sadistic to the other villagers, if you so choose. For example, you can dig holes to trap them in front of their houses, or herd them into a Pitfall trap and then not save them, or hit them with your net or your axe. He may be trapped in a world where he cannot harm anyone no matter how hard he tries, but he's not so restricted in Smash...
I think it would have been neat if instead of a bowling ball, he dropped a full bag of bells onto his opponent. A bell is a coin. You can store up to 99,999(i tthink) bells into one bag. One full bag must be pretty heavy...
Explanation for the Bowling Ball: One of the most sought after furniture items in the game was the "ball return." There are many sports equipment items such as basketball hoops and pool tables, but the ball return was cleverly interactable. It want to say it made it's debut in Wild World, but it may have been in the game since the original.
If you listen to the announcer call the villains' names, he sounds menacing. He sounds this way for Ganondorf, Bowser, slightly for Dark Pit, unsure with Bowser Jr., and even for Villager. Villager is evil. It is confirmed!
Actually, Sakurai didn't handpick various faces and outfits for each costume. These face/hair/outfit combinations are actually the various default appearances in Wild World and City Folk depending on how you answer the questions in the beginning of the game.
Star-Man RainbowStar items dont need to be on, it acts just like the wood, also like you can get peach to pull a bomb om or beam sword without items being on, just really rare.
I feel like the reason why Gyroids act like rockets for the Villager's side B is because it['s base] is kinda bullet or rocket shaped.....so Sakura though that he could get away with that maybe?
As a Villager main and avid Animal Crossing fan, allow me to point you to some things you missed: 1: Fruit can fall from the tree. Yes, I know other people have said this, but all of them have said you need items on for that. That is false. The chances are just higher with items on. 2: Dash attack is strictly speaking, not a downward move. 3: A bowling ball may not be obtainable in any Animal Crossing game, but you can get a set of bowling pins as a furniture item. 4: Villager tripping as his dash attack is a reference to one of the spells cast by Katrina in the game which adds a random chance for the Villager to trip while running. He will also drop certain items (at least balloons) he happens to be holding when he trips. (Also I thought you would have been an Animal Crossing fan, the way you used Animalese for Cat's voice, but I guess not).
Villager's alternate costumes aren't actually carefully chosen. They're all taken from the default Villagers you get from answering Kapp'n's questions in Wild World.
The real creepy theory I've seen evidence for is that the villager's totally innocent and has been kidnapped (by a kappa) and trapped in Animal Crossing by Nook imposing that debt. I'd be a little bitter too, and might enjoy some outlet via Smash Bros.
SupaDaBloopa // SDB my only problem with the game is that when you take a break from it. you don't wanna go back cause one of your villagers might have moved away. IM SORRY HAMLET!
YOU! Hold it right there, punk! What did you do? Huh? Tell me what you did! What am I talkin' about? Huh? Don't you play dumb with me! Don't you DARE! Before you turn the power off, SAVE! You gotta SAVE! I KNOW you knew that! Don't even lie to me! When you power down without following procedure... Know what happens? I get lights and sirens playin' an electric mambo at HQ! KINDA HARD TO MISS! Gotta relax. Deep breath. Haaaaaah... I can see now, you don't listen too well... Well, clean out your ears, [name]. Life's SERIOUS! Calm... Haah... Happy mole... You hear me? SERIOUS! Haaah... Cool, dark tunnel... Release the anger... You're gonna gimme health problems, punk. Don't be such a twerp... Haaaaaah... .........
5:26 - 5:46 Actually the alternate costumes represent the different appearances the player starts off with in Wild World/City Folk. source: nookipedia.com/wiki/Guide:Face_Styles/Animal_Crossing:_Wild_World
I won't blame you for not liking Animal Crossing as a "goalless game". But as a Animal Crossing fan, you've *TERRIBLY MISUNDERSTOOD* the concept of this game. It's all about communication with characters in real-time game world, how you can relate it in reality. Every villagers have an AI that can understand who you are and what you're doing, which that NPC villager can like you or not, which resulting as making friends or enemies of that character. Its not random, its all about making relationship with people in one village, and how it can affect upon your personality towards reality. The Villager isn't creepy by its look; he's just a pokerfaced character. However, he can learn emotions upon certain criteria, which he can learn how to be sad, angry, laugh, cry, surprised, etc. I guess why he looks that way is because this Villager is based upon the classic version of Animal Crossing, not the recent ones like New Leaf. For the bowling ball part, there IS the bowling ball in game. However, its part of the furniture called the "Ball Return". And the two young tanukis who's with Tom Nook...they're not his sons. They're simply helpers, but the relationship with Tom Nook is kept unknown. RelaxAlax, I do respect you for finding these secrets. But eventually, whether you like or dislike the game, you need to research things more deeper.
Why does every drawing of Alax look ugly and have bloated lips? Why is the thumbnail so clickbaity? Why did Alax tease this episode back in October but not actually release it until January? Why am I asking so many questions that people will probably get offended by?
Boy oh boy, can't wait to see the tree having fruit thing in the inevitable "Things I Got Wrong" video at the end of this year For those unaware, Villager's tree has a _very_ slim chance of dropping a fruit when chopped. Not sure if the Food item has to be enabled for it to happen in the first place, though.
I found something out for isabelle for later on. The water bucket for her down smash actually could be a reference to the famous "golden watering can". This item is always gained from isabelle in new leaf by making a perfect town. The golden watering can waters flowers left and right to you, so it could be this since you gain it from her. Also once you got a perfect town you can remodel the town hall to your liking, where her final smash comes from. But during both villager's and isabelle's final smash a load of items, furniture, and references are tossed into the construction to make it. Look in training mode for deatil. .. the famous froggy chair is in there. ^_^
I play animal crossing wild world at night and 4 times I left the game on when I accidentally fell asleep and the battery died and I became so scared of Resetti.
15:00 I agree. They did this with other happy characters. They made Mario look angry in smash games to fit the mood, but left Villager as is and creepy was the result, a mix match of actions and expression.
First off, is the Dash attack considered a "down" move? You treat it like one, but I've not seen others classify it as such. Also, this isn't be the first time Ganon has had trouble with a bug net. Finally, is that error-type screen at the end sending some sort of message? Anything you want to tell us?
Fox, like Falcon, has a mostly made up moveset since in game he rarely leaves his arwing. Side B and Up B are made up or I guess inspired by aerial vehicle movements I really don't know. Blaster and Shine obviously come from things in Star Fox. This also applies to Falco and Wolf
someone already said that probably has something to do with legendary Japanese foxes having power over illusions, given the name, fox illusion. Same for the fire
