Hello Michael &Tiffany! My husband and I currently live in Middle Tennessee. We were relocated here 4yrs ago from Northeastern Ohio due to General Motors plant closure. We aren’t thrilled with Tennessee living. We love Central Florida and always planned on retiring there. My husband accidentally came across your RU-vid videos and showed me. It led us to driving up for the day in January and we love everything about The Villages! We immediately started our retirement preparations and have plans to include a stay on property at the Villages each year while we wait for retirement - anytime after April 2026. Thank you so much for your videos. They brighten my day and keep me diligently working towards joining you and all the other nice folks in The Villages!

Hey guys!! Another great video - thanks so much for all you do!! We are booking a week-long VRBO in The Villages for late October (just in time for all the Halloween celebrations!) and I’m so excited!! If we enjoy it as much as I think we will, we will likely do an official Lifestyle Visit at a later date. We still have eight years to go until we can officially retire and I’ve been told it’ll go by quickly (although right now it feels like a snail’s pace). Hope we run into you both while we’re there!!

Hi Thank you for your Happy Wednesday video, and actually we have seen your all videos from early lifetime visits to villages. How is we= me Antti and my wife Auli, we live nowdays in Finland, Oulu named city and we have about 1 meter snow ( about 3.3feet) and pretty cold winter. So We are very intrested to come to visit the villages next florida trip early May 24. And we are renting one house from private sector because villages management did not accept credit cards, only cash and chek. In europe there is no more check, so they were difficult that do from here. We are staying hole week there 3-9 of May and want to see whats happening there and maybe can we become those who spend winter in villages and summer here. Hope to hear from you and to in May.? Hi there Michael & Tiffany. Been watching your channel from the very beginning. My wife and I are from Bedford, New Hampshire. We are planning to move to the villages within the next year or two. We were at The Villages for a lifestyle visit last August..Even though it was hot, we loved everything about it. We are planning on renting a house for a couple of weeks this coming August. Just a matter of timing before we buy a house there. We enjoy watching all the you tube villagers channels..and your channel has become one of our favorites. If you loved The Villages in August (the hottest and most humid month for Florida) then you will love it even more the rest of the year. It’s great that you will be back for a couple of weeks again this August! We have lived in the Southeast our entire lives so we actually like the hot summer months (less crowded and less traffic). Thanks so much for letting us know what’s up with you and the very kind comments. Tiffany just got back home a couple of hours ago. Hi! from Sweden 👋🏻😊 My husband and I have visited Florida twice. First trip was to Key West and Miami Beach with the family. The second trip was spent with friends in Naples. We’re going to retire 6/30/2026 then move to the Villages. Donna and I have rented a home for 10 days twice a year until we move. Used up our 2 lifestyle visits. We’ve rented a home in the Village of Richmond for 5/19-5/29/24. We can’t wait. This is our 4th visit.

Retirement target is 2025. Currently in Matthews NC. Visited TV last Dec to tour open houses and neighborhoods. Will probably focus on north of 44, or south of Monarch Grove. Can't be near the turnpike or Lake county high taxes.

That’s awesome! 2025 will be here before you know it. Good luck with your search! Hope you find the perfect home and location for you! There is something for everyone here at TV. FYI… We lived in Charlotte for almost 20 years. Ballantyne for a couple of years then we moved to Matthews for 17 years. Love downtown Matthews and would go to the Matthews Alive festival and BeachFest every year. Lot of great family memories there. That’s kind of what it’s like to be at one of The Villages big events (almost every weekend) in one of the Town Squares. When we first moved there 485 was not complete and ended at Idlewild Road. We were thankful when they finally finished the loop so we could get to the CLT airport from the inner our outer loop. But of course that also brought a lot more urban sprawl and traffic congestion. The traffic here at TV (even in peak snowbird season) is nothing compared to that traffic. So we used to live close to 485 but not next to it just like in TV we are close to the Turnpike but not next to it. Keep us posted as you make the move to TV. Thanks!

Wow...we live near 485 and Idlewild Rd at Shannamara/Divide GC. We love Matthews Alive and the concerts in Stumptown park. We may do a full lifestyle visit in Sept and will try to meet up.

Pulling the plug here in Delaware and headed to the Villages this spring. Looking forward to a life in the Villages and all that it has to offer. We are planning on renting for 6 to 12 months . Not sure if we will buy a resale or go new. Love the TVE videos they have been very informative and helpful..

Hi Michael ..We are renting close to Villages so have been to Spanish Springs Square and yesterday visited Brownwood Square next up is Sawgrass. We are retired snowbirds from Ontario and we are on a lifestyle visit April 15th-22nd. Your lifestyle video we will rewatch before going so full of excellent info. Don't worry about mess ever. Make living more realistic. So cool you showing us the Ski Beach..just happened to notice on our way home from Brownwood, thankyou will check that out. Safe journey home to Tiffany on Fri. Hi Michael & Tiffany. I am enjoying watching your videos and have learned so much from you both through your posts on You Tube and Facebook. My wife and I still have children living with us at home in Georgia, and we have not yet reached retirement age. We always thought we would eventually try to purchase something in Panama City Beach, Florida one day. However, my sister and brother-in-law, whom you both met at the Train Show last year, purchased a house in St. Catherine. I have stayed with them twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed my visits. Other than passing through the area on the turnpike on the way to Walt Disney World and returning home, we were unfamiliar with The Villages. Purchasing a home in The Villages was not even on our radar, in all honesty. Well, all of that has now changed. We hope to eventually purchase in the next few years. Again, thank you both for allowing us to live our villager dreams through your videos. Keep enjoying the lifestyle, and thanks again for sharing your adventures with all of us!!!!!

My parents moved here back in 2005 and my in-laws were going to move here back in 2001 but decided to move to Ocala Palms because they gave you more options. The Villas back then were only going for $60,000 and back then, that was alot of money.

Hello Michael. Just viewed this "Home Alone" video. Question, Not sure if TV is the place for us, but am interested in a LifeStyle visit. Wondering if, after catching transport service from Orlando airport, there is a place in TV to rent a vehicle to check out other 55+ communities during our visit? This way we could experience TV's Very active lifestyle as well as maybe a bit more laid back one from Ocala south. Really enjoying your channel!

Great question and a great idea. We have no experience with car rentals here at TV. I just googled and they show a couple of different car rental companies at different Town Squares. Hello, Tiffany & Michael! We are hoping to be in the Villages in the next year and a half as snowflakes, and eventually, be permanent residents in about 4 1/2 years. I am a teacher, so I have to wait until I retire. I love your videos. We are learning about the cool events that go on there. We appreciate everything you have been sharing! We actually came at Christmas time and stayed in an Emerald model in the Village of Richmond. We really liked it! Keep up the great work! Great video :-) My husband and I are really debating whether the villages is the place for us. We would love to try it out but, like you, when we crunched the numbers, we feel that renting would be throwing away money that could be used towards a new home. We toured around and loved Fenney, but the new Eastport area is interesting. How did you decide on Dabney, and do you feel it’s too far from the existing town centres? Also, does it feel like “Pleasantville” with houses the same and close together (no privacy)?

Hey guys! We have enjoyed watching your adventure. We are both still working full time but are coming down for a lifestyle visit 3/16! We have visited for a weekend before but we are ready to explore to get ready to buy soon. Still torn about when but definitely know we want to get there. It will still be peak snowbird season when you get here but this traffic is nothing compared to Atlanta traffic. Courtyard Villas are perfect for people with dogs. Biggest tip is just to get out and explore, have fun and try to see as much as you can during your stay. Keep us posted and let us know how your visit and home search goes. We’re closing on a home next week in the Village of Dabney Question : golf cart Being so far to the south, it doesn’t seem necessary. What’s your opinion?

Congratulations on your upcoming move to TV! Hope you have a great closing day experience next week! Don’t feel pressured to “Keep up with the Joneses” and buy a golf cart immediately. Purchasing a golf cart is a big personal and financial decision. We have not purchased a golf cart yet (but we will this spring or summer). We will be renting and trying out different golf carts before purchasing and will share that experience on our channel. We have been so busy and really want to take our time to make sure we do thorough research, try and document and share as much as possible (and our decision making process) so that hopefully it is helpful to you and others who are on the fence (to buy our not to buy, gas vs. electric, 2 seater vs. 4 seater, etc.). Short answer is a golf cart is a nice to have but not a must have immediately (or ever) for anyone in TV. Take your time and enjoy each step of your Villages Experience (the closing day experience, the move in experience, going to Town Squares for the first time experience, etc.). Move in, get settled and get your bearings before rushing to make any major purchases here at TV. Good luck! Have fun! Keep us posted! Thanks!

Thanks Michael glad you are going to give us a heads up on Wednesday because I don't get the newspaper and always wondering what is going on over the weekend, I live in Lake Denham in a designer home and also still working from home but will retire on September 17 this year, I moved in on October 8th so I am still learning how to get away The Villages and can't afford a golf cart yet because I am alone and lost my husband five years ago so it's really hard to learn to do everything yourself

Hi Debra! Glad you enjoyed the video. Our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. There is so much to see and do here at TV that it can be overwhelming and hard to navigate. Hopefully you are getting involved with different groups and activities and events and that it becomes easier for you as time goes along. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement and recent move to The Villages and Lake Denham! You moved in just a few weeks before us. Don’t feel rushed or pressured to go out and buy a golf cart (we have not bought one yet either). It’s a nice to have but not a must have to get out and explore and enjoy everything TV has to offer. Great question! We booked our lifestyle visit 2 weeks before we stayed last September. Peak Snowbird season is a lot busier and books up way earlier. They have a whole department that books lifestyle visits. Just give them a call and they will be glad to answer your questions and help you find a date and time that works for you. Congrats! That’s so exciting! We were the opposite in that we had cooked on smooth glass top (radiant and induction) for years and are just now getting used to cooking on gas. Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Totally agree with you about the small things can actually be the big things as far as adjusting to a new area. We went to the same person for 10 to 20 years (hair, doctors, dentist, optometrist, Tiffany’s nails, car care, etc.) before we moved to Florida. I have two awesome people who cut my hair in Clermont, FL (about a 30 minute drive from where we live in TV). Are you here at TV now or when will you be here? The reason I ask is because they both know about our channel and maybe it would be good to share and feature them and that area in a video the next time I get a haircut. I would need to ask them first to see if they want to be on video. If not then I will just post their names and location. Thanks!

Hi. My husband and I are from NH. We are currently renting a patio villa in Pinellas until the end of March. We are trying to figure out if we want to live here or be snowflakes. We have signed up for many activities through villages parks and rec socials. They are sessions of about two hours that introduce you to different activities that you may want to do in the villages. We’ve gone to beanbag baseball, indoor shuffleboard, trivia and intro to bocce/shuffleboard/masters tennis. There are many more activities to choose from. Signups can be done online via TV app. A socials calendar can be found at your local rec center. We enjoy your videos.

Hello Cherie! We have not been to Port Orange yet but maybe we will do a road trip there this spring. The beach is one of our favorite Happy places. The great thing about the location of TV is you can get to either coast of FL in 1.5 hours or less. We have been north of you to Flagler Beach and St. Augustine and South of you to Cocoa Beach and The Space Coast many times. What are the “must things” to see or do in Port Orange? Hey! I'm in Austin Texas and not yet 55, but looking at The Villages as a possibility. If I move there, it would be to a Patio Villa like the Emerald, Opal, or Moonstone and I would still be working and not retired. I like that you and Tiffany are in a Patio Villa and are also still working and would love to hear more about how you manage work and the active lifestyle of The Villages. Can't wait to see your President's Day sale finds. And I saw Rick Springfield playing there next month! I saw him live back in the 80s. How fun! I love how many festivals and fun events you've shown us. Those look awesome and like things I'd love to do. I love arts and crafts and would love to take some of the many art classes offered there. I'm a knitter and my weekend plans often involve knitting, going to yarn shops, and soon I'm planning to experiment with dying my own yarn. :)

Hello back from Florida! FYI… You don’t have to be 55 to move to The Villages (as long as no one younger than 19 still lives at home). We are going to do a video on that soon. Plus a video on working from home while still enjoying TV before retirement. We like all 3 of those Patio Villa floor plans. Just got a bunch of stuff delivered today (a day early) and more next week from the Presidents’ Day sales. Look forward to sharing that with everyone in an upcoming video (or two or three). Wow! You saw Rick back in his heyday of Jessie’s Girl and being on General Hospital at the same time. We may try and go see him here at TV. There is so much to see and do here at TV. We love all of the festivals and events. Plus there are over 3,000 clubs and activities to get involved with. Lots of arts and crafts. I bet they probably have one for yarn dying. Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. You already made the big move from MI to GA. You want have too far to go when you are ready to move to FL & The Villages!
