My phobia of snakes began when I was four and saw The Jungle Book. Believe it or not, my late grandmother sounded so much like Sterling Holloway's voice of Kaa, that I actually thought she was Kaa in disguise--think Red Riding Hood, but with a snake--and that was why I was afraid to look her in the eye at the time. What's even weirder is that my grandmother even resembled him slightly before he died.
