Opening scenes and edit top notch, wahoo fish cake absolutely mouth watering, unmatched enthusiasm for sailing! Best sailing (authentic) storytelling period!!!
You two are so blessed to have each other. I absolutely love your videos, you’re not pretentious or instagrammish, you’re ACTUAL sailors out there getting after it. Perfectly lovely!
Wow you guys! We’re not even two minutes in & had to jump in the comments that intro was SO good!! So glad your channel was recommended to us! Consider us hooked ⚓️
I love the way you guys are really hitting your stride with video production just as you are heading into some of the most fascinating cruising grounds anywhere. I can't wait to see what is next!
I can only reinforce what others have said about the incredible intro! I thought I was watching the start of a major budget Hollywood movie! Perfect editing, with perfect synchronisation to the beat of the music! I've watched it several times already, it blew me away so much! Just EPIC! :-) Love your zest for life, building memories that will be with you forever. already looking forward to the next episode! Thank you for allowing us to follow along with your adventure. Fair winds and following seas. Richard (UK)
I've missed U guys. And luckily I found a fairly recent video I had not seen. WooHoo! I love to see U catch fish that U can eat. And have loved this Wimberley series. Thanks 4 taking us along. Safe travels ❤
This is a closer look at the Kimberleys than we have had from other channels, with better production values. Yes, another Aussie couple on the northern water, but with sanity and clear goals. And only 210 L of diesel! Good luck on the circumnavigation.
Maybe a spinaker is in your future if a couple more people jump on board your Patreon ? Michael S. It seems like Coriander would grow in a pot on a boat just fine.
I am just getting to the point where you catch the Wahoo and I want to yell "That fish is GREAT eating ! Keep it !" The trick to Wahoo is to be careful not to over cook it - it's a little like Swordfish - but is really lean meat and can get dry if overcooked. I've caught many and it is one of my favorites to eat. And Soph - that fish cake recipe looks awesome ! Never thought about doing that with Wahoo. Great episode thank you - can't wait to explore The Kimberly with you - that place looks *amazing* !
After being on the go for months ourselves, we've now got the time to do some binge watching to catch up with your new season. Wow! What an ep to get it going. Really nice work guys. Beautifully structured. Oh and yeah. Wahoo is good eating. Cheers!
Ahoy again Mateys, I have to also congratulate you on your smick all round production skills, certainly up there with the top pros bros❤😂😂 you make us laugh, cry, cringe and connect. I hope you enjoy and are rewarded by all of your efforts involved in making these videos, I take my hat off to you.
thanks so much guys, comments like this really mean alot to us, cant describe how amazing it is to know that the videos can spark such an array of emotions, how fantastic, thank you so much for letting us know. we really appreciate it! hope King George is treating you well
Great episode...Congrats on making it to the Kimberley! Shall I make a suggestion? Yes, yes I should...Get some decent lashings on your jerry cans!! Bungys ain't gonna do the job when that big wave breaks over the boat!
So, I’ve watched this episode 3 times and am still amazed at the quality of the content and editing. You two are epic talents! Love the opening to season 3. The Kimberies are awesome. Keep this us and you will have at least 50k subs before season 4. Cheers!
So great to know your really enjoying this weeks episode, and thanks for giving it a boost in the algorithm 😉. We have been blown away so far by our time here, cant wait to keep sharing it with you all. thanks so much for your kind comment
Beautifully filmed and edited, congratulations. I was one of the people shouting "It's a wahoo, don't chuck it back!" I am with you Slim, it tastes better than a spanish. It's lovely to see the Berkley River again and I am really looking forward to your cruise through the Kimberly.
Another great video. You know how big of a bugger those thrashing bleeding fish are when you pull them on deck. I've taken to spearing them as I get them alongside and hanging them off the cord until they've bled out and stopped thrashing. Its turned fishing from a task into a pleasure
haha where theres a will theres a way, we find our little short handled gaff to be handy as it doesn't get in the way or clutter up our rather small cockpit, but hey gotta do what you gotta do to get the fish in the boat!
What a great episode, out on the blue. Great narration, can hear the excitement in your voices, love it. ❤️ The Kimberley... what can I say, one of the last untouched places on mother Gaia. So looking forward for your interpretation of this country via sea. Spent a bit of time in a swag and managing to get to the coast when I could. Kudos to U2 and keep the dream alive 🙌. Fair winds U2
Let season 3 BEGIN!!!!!!!! Kimberley's this will be Epic!! You will be in Aboriginal country, This will be so interesting the ancient paintings on the walls of caves and cliffs... Watch out for then Croc's. So glad your journey has again begun and looking forward following your adventure. Stay safe catch you in next video.
Oh guy's I am absolutely frothing on this season and where you are the Berkely River Like Wow! What a wonderful place to be!! Thanks again guy's for another great episode and can not wait for next week! Enjoy and safe travels guy's,!
Beautiful place to be , we sailed there in 2013 part of our circumnavigation. Watch the weather patterns for the west coast, some of the ports are hard to get in and out if the seas are up. In the Kimberley you can get fuel at the barge in Dog Leg Creek.
fantastic! you did the loop how epic! yeah were planning to stop by the barge ! and yeah we are excited for the Wa coast certainly going to be some new challenges along that coast that will test our skills, its amazing the difference between the coastlines and the different navigational benefits and hazards each place holds. I mean the tides hee in the kimberleys are wild, but the sleep and calm anchorages have been great!
@@SlimandSophSailingNakama no doubt you have done your research on the waters around some of that northern area. there are places you need to pass right in the area of high tide as the different currents meet, and the areas of swirling waters. Stay safe.
S&S,,,,Glad to see your sailing now,,Great job!!!Love;the view's your sharing with us of the boat, water around you and of course yourself.Keep up the go job!!!👍👍👍
Was up in the Kimmberly area from Late june to early July this year and stunning land formations and the various plant and birds . When ever you were up here hope you found it stunning as well .
Done well to land the wahoo, normally they cut the line... boss of the razor gang. Have fun and don't smile at the crocodiles..... Stunning intro, well done the 2 of you... Aussies represent.🇦🇺 🫡✌️
Amazing, yeah i think we nailed them for a first time try, so cool to hear your tuneing in from the NWA of the USA, thanks for watching and thanks for your comment
Nice to see you out again after the big haul out! Love this channel ❤❤❤. The Kimberly is one of the few places I did not see when I lived in Australia for a year- I lived in Melbourne and rode my push bike from Cairns to Darwin, the bought a cheap car and drove back to Melbourne so I traveled it well! Thanks for the video!
Oh wow! that bike trip must be a story to remember ! what a huge challenge, must have been epic !!! ballsy endeavour. Stoked your vibing the videos and thanks so much for your comment
@@SlimandSophSailingNakama It was amazing- I was unsupported on a steel touring bike- route was from Cairns to Normanton- South to Mt Isa- across to Tennant Creek- then North to Darwin- took 30 days including two rest days and I was 56 yo.
Really nice episode!!Love that you guys just sail sometimes for days and the big Wahoo was amazing too!Glad you kept it as I knew they were good to eat.You can just turn into the wind more to slow down when you hook a fish it’s fast an easy.Love your content and both of you 😍😍
Oh My Universe absolutely incredible Legends, I'm totally into this, just be super careful yeah, there's some big teethy critters that like human snacks ok. So dam Proud of u both!!!!🇦🇺😲🌈👍
Hi Guys we follow you regularly and understand dates of posting doesn't always conincide with actual dates, we're at the Twin Falls right now up the george just above the Berkeley River and would to catch up if you're still in the area. Cant get over the beauty of this spot, its kept us captivated here for 7 days so far. Robin and Susy SVsaltydogz
Hey guys thanks so much for your comments, so so stoked you have been vibing them, we are a little deeper in now, what direction are you heading, we have slowed down alot now with Uni in full swing so if your heading west im sure youl catch up to us at some point along the way 😂
Unfortunately we must've crossed paths somewhere. We've just got back to Darwin and watching your next episode makes me cry as what you show is just how we experienced every day we were there and you make our yearning to return only more pressing and the feeling that we were so fortunate to experience such raw beauty. Have a few repairs to tackle then back there for sure. What do you recon? Or should we continue going east. We did miss a chunk of the mid kimberleys as we side tracked to Scott and then Ashmore Reef. If you can definitely check out Scott Reef - AMAZING, (Ashmore not worth the extra mileage). And certainly try to get to the Rowley Shoals, we spent 10 days there and could've stayed longer, we did have perfect weather to top it off which made the whole scene even more mind blowing. Robin and Susy SV saltydogz
That star link dish looks pretty big to have up in a blow. I think I would worry about that. The green jib sheets are most attractive. See, you are a good fisherman!
it's pretty streamlined and stows away too. No more bigger than the old radar we used to have in the same spot, so not too concerned. Hahah, yep. Cheers for tuning in!
Hey guys nice to see you're underway. We've left Popeye in Hobart for the winter and will be back onboard in October. Hopefully we'll see you there this summer. ❤ #sailingpopeye
Super well done Soph. Epic season intro. Agree with the lonetraveller - it's like a big picture trailer. Fair winds. Ps Are you guys doing S2H again this year? Regards Ian
I had Goose Bumps with the opening scenes ❤It Been looking forward to this part of your journey into one of Australia's untouched wilderness areas The excitement in your voices Big ask, Tassie by new year, wish you could stay in the Kimberly longer 😢 😂 But the show must sail on Enjoy ❤ Stevo
So glad to hear Stevo! So glad you enjoyed! I know, we wish there were no time limits but the seasons keep you on your toes and on the move! We'll be making the most it while we are here! Cheers legend, appreciate it 😊
@@SlimandSophSailingNakama honestly lovely cooked anyway, a prized catch 🎣 you're in Barra country in Kimberly's the river mouths loaded, done trip as Engineer on prawn boat 24/7 towing there and done some drunken barra fishing back in the day haha 🏴☠️ much love hope ur XVG bags are safely stowed away my Mateys 🏴☠️✌💘
😂 we are almost there, it just looked awfully akin to a boney old barracuda, safe to say it was far from it and we won't hesitate to keep Wahoo again in the future. Think its our new fav fish
Ok crabbing in the Kimberley great. No bets as to why you're making to Tassie for the beginning of the new year Syd to Hobart piss up Nothing to say really lucky bastards enjoy cheers n beers guys Marty Australia
We have a symmetrical spinnaker but it's only really good in dead down wind conditions. We would love love love an asymmetrical spinnaker. Maybe when finances allow
How did Australians manage to combine the german " Schick" for smart and "Shmuck" for jewelery or decoration and get Schmick or Schmicko which seems to mean smart and cool at the same time ?
