Taped from the "Showtime" Channel, Copyright 1981 (Although Burt looks a little young here for that to be the original broadcast date) Stars: Jonathan Winters, Orson Wells, Burt Reynolds, Dan Rowan,
Like Don Rickles, Jonathan was one of a kind. The images conjured up from the ether in his ultra imaginative mind never failed to make me laugh. It's almost like something other than himself was making it all up and even he had no idea what he was going to say or do next and he did enjoy performing getting a kick out of himself while it was happening. RIP
"Whatever happened to Anastasia ?" "He got a bad haircut" Jonathan never knew what he was going to say next until it happened and this time when "it" happened he cracked himself up with his answer. This is the only time I've ever seen him break character. I cannot blame him though, that answer was so ridiculous it was hilarious. Burt and Jonathan working together: Burt was pretty funny but because he hogged their time together doing his thing J.W. never had a chance to get going. And Dan Rowan is in the same boat. He also was funny but dominated the scene not allowing JW to get into a real groove. There will never be another Jonathan Winters. He was in a class all by himself.
Burt Reynolds actually held his own pretty good when he and Jonathan were improvising. Mr. Rowan j-u-s-t about lost it a couple times in their sketch, but the whole bit was pretty good. And Orson Welles doing the intro, hosting and outro... THAT was different!
"I never touch it myself, I don't smoke or drink, I'm church people. But uh, I've been known to shoot a pigeon every once in a while. Shot one of them the other day, didn't have nothing to do, and knocked him off a weather vane." XD XD XD
Did you see the credits? Produced and Directed by Greg Garrison. A Greg Garrison Production. Greg Garrison was the total genius behind the scenes of NBC's The Dean Martin Show. Johnathan Winters was also a wonderful guest star on that classic television variety show.

Great to see Burt ,this is not 1981, but it must be the same year Burt was filming whitelighting, as he said he just came from the set, so it must be .75,
