I once chauffeured Jonathan from his home in North Hollywood to a commercial voiceover and got lost en route. I drove around lost in LA with the funniest man in history doing his continual schtick. Most memorable ride of my life.

@Joe Gallagher Jonathan would 've made a quick study of you by saying ," Ya ever come across these idiots who never believe a story someone tells, well they kinda look like this 🤔, and they kinda screw their face up ...and then all of sudden they gush forth with a big heavy - NAH !!!!! and then everyone around looks at the idiot and say " What an ASSHOLE "! ( in unison of course ) Congratulations Joe ! You're an ASSHOLE !

It's incredible to follow Jonathan's career on RU-vid and see him as a young man on the Jack Paar Show, a middle-aged Winters on Carson, and finally a frail man in this clip. A true master of improv to the end.

Jonathan is/was my all time favorite comic! He really was a genius in his improv. You can see just how tired he was in this clip. I would imagine that losing his wife of 60 plus years was very hard on him. And he did have health issues such as diabetes, etc. Its odd how discolored his hands are, isn't it? Even so, I love him like family!

Heaven being a man made place is both true and not true. I believe Heaven and Hell are Potentially in each moment based on our state of mind. At the same time upon Death Heaven exists. Besides wisdom books left for us humans, don't take my word. We are gifted by having millions of people having near death Experiences for the purpose of coming back and letting us know. RU-vid search for yourself before Responding. Look at no less than Five.

As a drama actor, his performance in A Game Of Pool was one of the best Twilight Zone episodes.
@The3Stooges
@The3Stooges 6 лет назад
Glenn Zornig I grew up in the 80's loving Jonathan Winters and The Twilight Zone. Last night, I just watched "A Game of Pool" on the Twilight Zone BLU-RAY set of Season Four I recently bought, and Your Being A Dramatic Actor, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND You Get It Too If You Don't Already Have It. Jonathan Winters provides audio commentary over the entire episode, and it is some of the deepest heart felt commentary I have ever heard. While he discusses aspects of the storyline and script, he goes even deeper into his feelings on his career, time he missed spending with his children due to being all over the world filming movies, etc. He really goes down many different paths you don't expect. He just delve into what I felt were very meaningful insights into what really matters in life. I'm very sentimental and interested into people's views of what matters in life, what is important to them, especially people like Winters who I admire. I said to my Mom after watching it together "His commentary alone was worth the price of admission for me!" and I had already commented while listening, that he was getting pretty deep. I can't recommend it enough to you. Also, another feature (separate from the commentary) is Jonathan Winters discussing the original alternate ending to the episode, and reading the alternate ending script in it's entirety, with a very nice dramatic touch. With the commentary, I expected Winters to crack more jokes and be silly, and was looking forward to that (and he made a few) but the serious direction he took really made me feel like I better know the man himself, and who he was, and for that, I'm grateful. I also highly recommend Winters' collection of short stories and reflections on his childhood, in his book "Winters Tales."

"Winters comes to mind because award-winning talk show host John Kerwin, in celebrating his 100th show, garnered the enormous privilege of interviewing Winters, 86, at his home in Santa Barbara, Calif. Remarkably, Jonathan is as sharp as ever and Kerwin’s relaxed style allowed Winters to free associate, leaving me wishing the interview had run even longer."

America is in decline because it is denying God, but I digress. Jonathan reminds me of my dad, in the my dad loved Jonathan. Both were class acts, and both are gone. I guess it's the same with every generation, but I just can't picture people waxing eloquent and nostalgic about the Madonna/Miley Cyrus (etc.) years.
