Another fun fact. The green building in Woodbury where the Governor did his governing was a facade. They actually lit it on fire in season 4 during the scene where the Governor is standing in front of it. Then they built a new two story building in place and that was where they filmed Eugene's apartment at the Commonwealth. That alley where he was burning stuff after finding out about Stephanie is right beside that new building.
If i lived in the Alexandria houses in real life i would 1000000% petition to the other neighbors and tell them to leave the giant walls .... cool video buddy thanks for the cool shots
Agreed on Commonwealth set. Too soon to say if the set remaining up means anything. I only say this because I did the studio tour that was running in 2019. The Sanctuary set remained up 8 months after they finished filiming there for good as I saw the set going around the studio grounds. I don't remember how long after that the Commonwealth set went up, but I believe the Sanctuary set was torn down prior to the Commonwealth set going up.
It would be nice to see something happen there before they tear it down - maybe Rick & Morgan having a latte talking about how they just got a message that Daryl & Carol are on they're way home
although some more stuff on X has shown production trailers at the studio again (you can see these through Grimes Gate in this video) - and also a new gas station set built in a dirt parking lot right outside the studio. ?????
As far as I know no one else uses it - I wonder if it could only be part of a promo (like the Rick & Michonne thing where they were just walking around) - we got BTS photos of Norman & Melissa doing that also at the 'Alexandria' sub division (it seemed like) ...but with the gas station set built - seems maybe more than a promo
All these years I thought the prison was just abandoned. About the rock quarry i wonder if they used it in season 9-10 to. The episode where alpha shows daryl the horde. I always wondered if thats the same rock quarry they used in season 6.
Thank you for this amazing video - love the aerial shots! A friend who lives in Senoia, has told me he did some work for a production there recently, and he was working in Union Square of the Commonwealth set! He said the set is crumbling in places but is still very much intact. We're hoping it's because the set will be used again in one of the spinoffs - we think it's highly likely. My friend didn't elaborate on what the production was there - maybe he's not allowed to say. Time will tell! 😀🧟♂️
GA built so many studios it’s ridiculous. The one up the street from me caused the surrounding homes to skyrocket to $440k+. Not sure why as the studios seem empty all the time. I think GA got a big head from TWD. 😂 Hope it doesn’t tank.
Amazing how it really looks compared to what we saw on TV. CGI gets a lot of criticism but from a setting standpoint. The Walking Dead did a great job. That complex looks small compared to the building we had on tv. I'm thinking the Commonwealth set is needed especially with Alexandria gone in real life. They can quickly mention in the story that the Alexandrians moved out of Alexandria because of the past damage with the whispers and Saviors. Also tie it into Major General Beale's theory about resources going scare.
I assume we will be getting a continuation of somthig and the common wealth will be are main area. Prolly say everyone from all the other communities moved to the CW just to make stuff easier.
I think there's still a couple sites you could see but does anyone know if it's actually worth going at this point in time? Do they have tours or specific spots you can still see? I always wanted to go and visit and never got the chance. Im in Florida near tampa so its prob 4-5 hour drive.
it's almost all gone - but there are a few - you can see Senoia and eat at Nic and Normans - there are a few "shooting locations" to see - but not nearly as many.
With the recent rumors of Mercer and Ezekiel returning the commonwealth set is still up for a reason maybe they return in The Ones Who Live S2 if they continue. Actors of Mercer and Ezekiel were hinting on a return on social media
So are we never going to see alexandria again if they took the walls down and gave it back to the public? Idk how many more walking dead content we will get but i atleast wanted to see everyone reunite in alexandria
I'd everything ok with you brother you sound like your holdin back some grief I'm sad the shows over too but sounds like maybe your dealing with more than that? Economy pretty rough lately huh
