2:15 Neutral Kenny - Ben Response I don’t know why I always get this response, I’ve always been good to Kenny and his family, I saved his son,Duck, I also fed his son, i told him and his family I killed someone,I was neutral on choosing between Lily and Kenny until I investigation at the Motor Inn. I mean I didn’t let the innocent woman suffer from walkers, I didn’t kill Lily’s dad, but I feel like Lee deserved a “friendly” version of Kenny. Kenny saying Lee and Clementine are his family is sensible and understandable not to mention it’s touching ♥️
Personally, you don’t have to steal from the car to get friendly Kenny as long as you side with him. Yes, I agree with him except for killing Ben. And yes, I killed Larry. Why? Not because he’s an asshole, but because a walker Larry would be very hard to hold back, since Lilly and Lee are the only ones who can do that, and by the time Kenny drops the salt lick (which is very heavy and the only reliable weapon you have, mind you.), Lee, Lilly, or Clem would be bitten.

Cris To be fair Larry was pretty much dead already. Unconscious with no pulse, trapped inside of a meatlocker without medicine. Also, he was kind of a dick.
Cris Yeah I know what you mean. Thing is tho, if you side with Kenny, Lee will tell Clem to turn around so she doesn't see anything. If you side with Lilly however, Clem will see Larry get his head crushed by Kenny without any warning.
@@tirox8834 Yeah, sadly they don’t have nitroglycerin pills, so Kenny has a point that they have to kill Larry before he turns into a walker due to heart attack. I got neutral Kenny because I tried to keep the peace in the earlier episodes rather than taking either side, but I helped him deal with Duck so he came with me. I wish I’d gotten friendly Kenny though tbh.
It should have been an option to have Clementine call him out for this in season 2 like when he tries to say he's so happy to see her she could have been like "you didn't even try to come find me asshole.."
Someone who doesn't want Clem to have to witness something so horrible and possibly traumatize her? Though in retrospect she does witness a lot worse in later seasons, but still.
I was only not there with him when we were at Hershel's farm but still he didn't had my back until i said clem is my family but in My original play he was with me.
I saved Shawn I stood up against Larry to defend Duck (Angry Lee speech) I killed Larry I fed Kenny and his family I didn't shoot the girl I convinced Kenny not in a fight but peacefully like a friend I didn't drop Ben And yet I didn't get friendly Kenny and that bro speech. I got the "Would you do the same for me?" Kenny. I said Clementines my family and he came with me but still..
I accidentally saved Shawn and didn’t bother to reset. Other than that choice I sided with Kenny the whole game, but he said “there’s plenty of times where you ain’t been” absolute bullshit.
He gives you a bro speech if you sided with him 100%, yet, any less than that, he wonders why he should help you find Clementine if Lee disagreed or went against him in anyway. Yeah, *VERY* complex character writing.
Kenny really got on my nerves in this scene. The only part where I didn't have his back was the meat locker. After that, I agreed with everything he said, helped him, hell, I even suggested that he should kick bens ass. It pisses me off that you have to side with him on everything. EVERYTHING
@@SilentChaos713 If you want friendly Kenny, you have to be involved in either killing Larry or Ben. I go with Larry because it was medically impossible to save him even if you take the salt lick of death out of the equation.
I got the friendly Kenny. The only thing that I didn't side was dropping Ben, I know Ben messed up the motel and left Clemetime with the walkers but he didn't deserve a slowly painful death.
I do like Kenny as a character, but my issue is the consistency with the decisions you make and the impacts each choice has. For example, I can side with Kenny the entire way through, but if I try to save Larry, he starts acting like an ass. He's a good character and you will have a love/hate relationship with him, but I do wish the game made Kenny take into account every other decision that was centred around him, rather than focusing on that one moment in which people tried to save Larry.
@@celeb-seventeen Saving Larry is kinda not an option given that they don’t have the pills. Since I don’t think CPR would be enough to survive a heart attack.

sushihunter no I didn't but I guess that the most effective decidion is the meat locker situation cuz that affects your relationship with Kenny greatly
Youssef Mohammed yes because your Lee put Kenny and everyone else in danger by trying to stupidly save Larry and that is the reason he held a grudge. It’s actually a points system that leads up to that point. The only reason he didn’t have your back in your playthrough is because you didn’t remind him about family. He would have gone with you then
Season 1 was and is a total masterpiece. I’ve played through season 1 like 10 times and trying to make different decisions and every time I do I always discover new dialogue or actions that I didn’t see before. It’s like a good book that gets better the more you read it!
I'm just now actually playing the series myself, on season 2 now but I loved season 1, I've seen at least 10 different RU-vidrs play it tho and love the outcomes
Kenny: "Lee, you've always had my back when it mattered most. You were always a good friend to me and mine. Even when Duck...well you were able to help me do what I never thought I could on my own. I'll never forget that Lee." Lee: "So, you'll help me get Clem back?" Kenny: "Well I would...but there was that ONE time you sided with Lilly when I asked you guys which Power Ranger was the best...and you BOTH said the Green Ranger. How the fuck could you do that to me, Lee? You KNOW the Red Ranger was the best because he was the leader! I'm sorry, Lee. But fuck you. You're on your own on this one."

Kenny logic: If you are sided with him 100% he is with you 100% If you’re 80-90% with him he is with you 50- 60% If you’re 0-10% with him he is 0% with you But I’d still side with him more than Lily, Lily hurted: Doug,Carley, and Clementine (s4) It’s not really worth it to take her side And Kenny teaches u something about family and why it matters
Okay but killing Larry in my opinion was stupid. You can have some empathy for Lilly since she wasn’t entirely convinced that her father was dead in that moment. “You and Clementine are the only family i got left i’m with you till the end” that’s what he says if you hide the bite and yea i know your saying the show bite one
im gonna put it out here, many of the choices in season 1 are implicitly pro-Clementine vs pro-Kenny , yet they are also a more obvious pro-Lilly to pro-Kenny, - it doesn’t make them explicit however some things Kenny pressures you to do (eg steal from the abandoned car in episode 2, kill Larry, let go of Ben in the bell tower) are probably not what Clementine would do. Clem doesn’t want to steal from the car because she thinks its wrong to steal from people. she doesn’t want you to kill Larry because they could’ve saved him or he might’ve survived his heart attack. if you let Ben die she is upset at you and probably would of saved him if she was in your shoes, while Kenny is seemingly unfazed. its kind of a choice between survival and absolute loyalty (Kenny) to just doing the right thing morally wise (Clementine)
- I saved Duck on Hershel's farm. - I stood up to Larry in the Drugs Store. - I fed Kenny and Duck. - I helped Kenny kill Larry in the meat locker. - I stole food in the car. - I let the girl died in the street. - I left Lilly behind. - I talked Kenny down in the train. - I shot Duck. - I saved Ben's life. I get why people don’t like Kenny, but I mean, If I were lee, going with Kenny is usually the best things I’d rather save a little boy than a teenager, because it’s a little boy If me and the group were stuck with a 200lb, soon to be possible walker, I’d kill him too I’m not gonna let Kenny shoot his own son, I’ll do that. The boy in the attic is fair, but I think I’d still do it because clearly, Kenny couldn’t bring himself to without hurting There’s more, but those are the main ones. I feel Kenny is the best way to go, and If he’s friendly, he goes with you no matter what, and I love that
1st time playing, I was on Kenny's side when it came to his family but never was on his side with Larry. But everything afterward I was supportive. He was neutral, and I had one choice to either get him to come with me or not. I managed to get him to come along cuz "Family is all that matters", from that point on I knew Kenny was my friend, in that while there are some things we can't always see eye to eye on, when the chips are down we stand together and face whatever comes our way. Why I wished so hard to see him in Season 2 before we all knew he returned.
This is why I feel Kenny's relationship with Lee is the one that matters the most. It actually has consequences and can be different depending on if you're on good terms with him or not. Even though Lee's relationship with Clem is kind of the main relationship in the game and the most emotional one, it doesn't really matter because if Lee is a jerk to her or freaking starves her, she still loves him. Kenny can either love you like family or hate your guts. Although in Season 2, it doesn't really matter anyway or transfer because in Episode 5 he'll say Lee had his family and his back a lot even if he never did. The only thing that will transfer is when Kenny reunites with Clem at the ski lodge, he'll either say "Lee was a hell of a guy" if you got the bro speech or that "they had their differences that's for sure" if Lee had a neutral or bad relationship with him. It still matters the most though, has the most consequences, and is really one of the only relationships that can actually be different depending on your choices.

Kenny fanboys are even worse for defending this behavior. He should not be celebrated for acting like this, and his grief is no excuse because others lost just as much as him if not more.
Interesting. I sided with Kenny on everything except I pulled up Ben. I showed the bite, and did the "I need to find her alone" dialogue. But instead of Kenny saying the "No dice" line, Omid and Christa was like what? No way. Kenny still said the bit about "You've always had my back when it mattered" though. I wonder do I have to kill Ben to get the Kenny instantly stepping up and saying no dice line? xD
Yeah, you need to hide the bite. If you want Christa and Omid in your team without showing the bite, save Omid first when they'll run to the train and dont take Clem to Crawford
Dropping Ben is an easy choice the more you think about it. Almost everything bad that happens to the group is because of Ben, even the strange man isn’t as influential as Ben.
Okay. Okay Kenny. Lets name all the stuff i did for you. 1. I saved Duck first with the whole tractor thing 2. I stood up for Duck at the Drug Store when Larry insisted that he was bitten 3. I shot your son for you when times were tough 9. I killed the boy in the attic. Once again shooting someone when you didn't want to. 10. I helped you gather parts for the boat 11. I agreed with you on letting go of Ben (even though later I lifted him up later for whatever reason) I did all this shit for you. Took care of your family more times that you ever did. Agreed with you on stuff that did make sense but in the end you're still pissy over the one decision that wasn't as big as the other one's. The one decision that was less important than your family. And that decision was me not helping you kill Larry in the Meat Locker? Okay Kenny. Okay Thats my main problem with Kenny. First time playing this game, he was cool and all. Then as the story progressed and I played it the second time, i realized how much of a shitty character he is. I love kenny he's definitely one of my favourite characters but this scene kinda infuriated me. I always chose kenny's back over anyone else's and when he said he felt I never had his back I got angry and left him behind. But I still love kenny over anyone else except lee. Lee = Kenny

Down below I leave the document I made with all the details: "-Episode 1 Save Duck = 2 points Side with Kenny over Larry = 1.5 points -Episode 2 Don't pick Lilly's side = 0.75 points Help kill Larry = 1.5 points -Episode 3 Don't shoot the girl on the street = 0.75 points Don't pick Lilly's side. = 0.75 points Shoot Duck = 2 points -Episode 4 Kill the zombie boy = 0.75 points Drop Ben = 2 points If you get 9 or higher, Kenny will come with you no matter what. If you get higher than 4 but less than 9 , you'll have to convince Kenny to come with you. If you get 4 or less , Kenny won't come with you." Kenny doesn't care if you give food to his family or not.
My first play through I had unfriendly Kenny - Clem is my family. I really wanted him to help me as I had Christa, Omid and Ben with me but I took Lilly's side more as I didn't know what she had become in episode 3.
In my opinion, Kenny should automatically go if Lee feds Duck, saves Duck over Shawn, Lee puts down Duck or the boy in the attic or both, and Lee sides against Larry. Nothing else should matter. I love Kenny, but he really gets on my nerves sometimes. That's why I whooped him on the train. Unfriendly Kenny makes me happy those old cancer survivors whooped his ass too.
Fun fact. I didn’t steal from the car, shot the bitten woman in the street and didn’t save Duck on day 1, and saved Ben. Kenny was still my friend here because of the important points: Kenny’s side against Lilly in the meat locker, convinced Kenny to stop the train peacefully, shot Duck. That’s pretty much all it takes. You don’t have to agree with him on everything, only when it matters.
