The Walking Dead has returned to television for the sixth season and a spin-off, so it’s time for another deep dive into all the deviations between the comics and the show! Season 3 of the show covered a large swath of the comics, but liberally deviated from the story. Fortunately, we’re here to tell you: What’s the Difference? Subscribe: goo.gl/9AGRm
Season 3 of the AMC TV show covered no fewer than 3 volumes of the comics series, but there were a lot of changes made when bringing the Image Comics stories to the screen. Fan favorites Michonne, The Governor, and the plot-crucial prison are in both stories, but minor tweaks and major plot overhauls abound. Get readily for some serious Walking Dead Trivia - we’re about to drop so many differences, you’ll want to eat someone’s face off!

+Shurei1 Yeah I'm disappointed too. I too was surprised on how cool she was. But at the same time I was disappointed at the comic's Carol. I didn't want her to die, but at the same time I was glad she was out of the way. TV Carol is 1000 times better! Some characters the show made better, so made them worse, others the same.

XLRAshon I agree, but it's makes sense why Carol and Andrea are different, Think about it. In the show, she doesn't get with Dale because she disliked him for saving her she she went off to some love somewhere else and they were terrible choices. Without Dale's wisdom and guidance and the love he offered her, she didn't the proper logic and focus she needed to be the bad ass that she was in the comic. With Carol, she was frail(as she was in the beginning of the show) and required a relationship and since she had choices to choose from in the comics and was ultimately betrayed she went into a downward spiral of depression and didn't get the support to become strong like she did from Daryll.

Yeah, no duh. It's mainly a stylistic difference between Robert Kirkman and whoever's in charge of the show. I actually wouldn't mind it, except have you noticed that for almost the entire show its a green summer? In the comics, they go through autumn and winter! I mean, the Telltale video game did a much better job with the color department!

Thing is season 4 is almost entirely made up for the show. The differences are basically everything cause there's no second governor battle. Once Woodbury attacks that's it so you can imagine that everything is different.

+luke daniels that's really not true though, it's dishonest the way these TWD comparisons are done, I have my doubts these guys have recently read through the entire series. To say the show got further away from the comics recently is just absurd. They're in Alexandria, surrounded by zombies, Rick has a new love interest, he just took over Alexandria as far as the leader, he killed the guy who murdered the leader of Alexandria's spouse; everything I just said happened in the comics. They make slight changes, they'll flip flop a character, but overall the main storyline has been followed from season 2, albeit loosely at times, in the current season they are really close to the comics. The scene where Rick kills that dude for killing the leaders husband is identical to the comics but the leader is a man and it's his wife who dies. There are tons of differences, but many of them are merely moving around pieces from the comics, putting storylines from one character into another, and then the major differences are just characters that exist in the show but don't in the comics.

Andrea does see the Governor in the comics. When she's at the top of a tower. With a sniper. Shooting at him. But that's the only time she sees him I think

+Spartan-203 I think the Telltale game and comics are 100x better than the show. If you read the comics first (which I did) you'll most likely prefer them over the show. If you read the comics after watching the show you'll probably like the show better.

I know this is a older video, but it kind of bothers me that you failed to mention that Carol DID succeed in killing herslef, and Maggie adopted both Sophia and the twins, but when both the twins died Maggie attempted suicide. that was a huge turning point for Maggie and they took all of that away from her character, making just a capable woman.

Andrea and Dale actually adopted the twins. Maggie attempted suicide because Hershel and her brother, Billy died. She did adopt Sofia though because she was so traumatized by her mothers passing that she convinced herself that Maggie and Glenn were actually her real parents.

The governer decapitated Tyrese rather than Hershel :'( Loree or however you spell her name, gets shot in the stomach while holding her baby and running from the governer, both baby and her die Tyrese's awesome scene where he survives a huge walker horde happens during the prison and is way more Badass because he turn an entire gym into a walker slaughterhouse Andrea in the comics is a total Badass, in the show she's just annoying Hershel really dies by begging the governer to end his life because his 2 daughters were killed and his last son was killed during the invasion
