A visit to The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco California . A detailed walk thru the life of Walt Disney from youth until his passing as well as history of the company and theme parks.
Instagram - AdamTheWooATW Finally was able to experience this fantastic museum of the history of Walt Disney . Yesterday's video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0UuE1uhcmnE.html
I love how Disney transcends generations. One little mouse connects us all. Everyone has a fond Disney memory.....everyone. I remember being little & going to my friends grandma's house. Her grandma told us how she saw Snow White when it was first released. The magic & twinkle in her eye as she told her story to us is something I will never forget. For that moment she was a child again. My dad gave me his Mickey Mouse watch that he had as a kid. He is gone now & it is something that I cherish along with my love of cartoons that he passed on to me. I just spent the morning with my aunt & uncle and our conversation went to our trip to Disney World. I mean it started because I ordered orange juice & my aunt brought up the fact that it was freshly squeezed & would have pulp....she wasn't gonna send it back like when we were at Disney lol. I mean....c'mon....I was 5....juice with floaty things....yuck lol. I'm over that now that I'm in my 40's. But we wouldn't have these shared moments without Mr. Disney & for that I am thankful.
Yesss! It has eluded me too, Adam. I follow the museum on social media and always salivate at their exhibits and goings-on. Thanks for the vicarious visit!
Every time i see or hear things about Walt i always shed tears, i don't know why it happens cause i should be stronger but it does . He is & was a amazing man . Very well done Adam Very well done indeed . #WaltDisney #Disneyland
We went here a few years ago and loved it! Thank you for sharing this! Definitely a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge! Amazing how much history that bench has.
All of those awards you saw as you entered the museum used to be on display at Disneyland on Main St in an exhibit next to the Magic Shop back in the late 60’s, early 70’s.
Thanks for bringing us here Adam! Disney fans know how important every step of Walt's life was because it lead him to creating Mickey and Disneyland. Without both of those things, life would be a lot less fun.
Wow, I never knew this place existed. It must have been emotional getting to finally visit. I must say Mr Woo I admire how you are living your dream and how hard you work to make it happen. I live by the thought of "when my time is up and my life flashes before me, I will be sure there is plenty to watch". You sir, will have an abundance!
I love learning about what people have accomplished throughout their lives. Thank you for taking us on this journey - I've never heard of this place till now 😊
Ooh, I stumbled across this museum a few years ago, and it’s terrific! I LOVE the multi-plane camera they have on display. It’s really incredible to see how all of the animation processes were developed.
Had the pleasure going to the Disney Family museum.. Amazing area to visit. Very touching tribute at the end to Walt. Had to walk because I think a duck spit in my eye...
Wow, I'm surprised that bench isn't roped off! I want to sit there and draw. I would love to see the multiplane camera in person. I wanted to be a Disney animator when I was young.
Awesome sauce! I love Disney History, especially about the man himself! I really enjoyed this vlog. It's a shame they wouldn't let you film anymore, but at least you got some! Thanks Big Guy!
Ahh! You’re in San Francisco! We’re in the same city at the same time! 😱😂 I love the Disney Family Museum! Welcome! It’s been pretty rainy here. Hope you stayed dry!
While at work the other day I was listening to a documentary about Walt and how his daughter was building the Museum. I was like, "Why hasn't Adam the Woo been here yet?" And now you have! Thank you Adam! One day I will go to California!
This museum was the catalyst for breaking my over two decade streak of avoiding Disneyland. When I decided to visit on a whim, I didn't know or understand what the multiplane camera was and I didn't really care, and kept up too quick of a pace. It sparked something in me nevertheless. I would love to go back soon so I can go back and really take my time in there. Thank you for the visit, even if it was cut short.
I think mr. Walt Disney himself would be proud of you reason why because I did not know that place existed now that I do when I'm in the area I'll go visit and I'll bet you other thousands of people did not know either now they do I call it free advertising so they should be happy that you did that for them
Thanks Adam...great job. I too, am a Disney-phile, and have an enormous amount of respect, admiration and awe for the man and all his incredible accomplishments and innovations in the history of the entertainment industry. Just thinking about the one single place that someone could visit to see all his personal effects, artifacts and groundbreaking motion picture equipment, makes visiting this museum a “must-go.” Thanks for bringing it to us...from one of your big fans from Orlando... p.s. Daniel Dennis says hi...
No vlogging at the Walt Disney Family Museum!? I’ve seen a bunch of vlogs from this place too 🤔 oh well, the stuff you showed was pretty cool and you got to just enjoy your trip rather than worry about filming so that’s a plus 😆 I’d love to visit this place one day!
Going to this museum is one of mine and my husband's most cherished dates. We still really want to go back, but just haven't had a chance to. It sucks that they don't let you film. I'm pretty surprised you got as far as you did. I have few pictures to show for the memory. The other thing we regret is we didn't realize how jam packed this museum was and we had to rush a little bit, so we always recommend 3ish hours for anybody who's never been before. Plus, additional time (and money) if you want to shop in the giftshop afterwards which offers unique Disney memorabilia. I really do wish my husband and I can make it back someday.
I love how Disney was such an innovator with technologies such as the multiplane camera. Then later with Disneyland (CA) and EPCOT Center, parks that NO ONE had ever thought to do before. Pushing the boundaries like that makes people notice and frankly inspires the world. I know I was inspired by and appreciative for all the wonders that came out of Disney! Thanks for the tour buddy, have a good one. :D
That quote @ 6:36 is pretty bad ass. I love the passion of big dreamers. Not letting anything get in the way of your dream. Same goes to you man. Dig your passion and professionalism. You could have handled being told that you were not allowed to Vlog a number of ways, and as usual, you took the high road. Class act all the way. Dig your videos as always. Take care.
good vid hidden camera always works they would never know animation is hard to do...i make stop motion videos with clay and legos never heard of that place and mickey was freaky looking then🤣
You posted this exactly 3 years ago today. I am excited that this is where you were! I would love to get there someday. I have been to the museum in Marcelline. This was very well done, Adam. I do think I like the Hometown Museum better. Seemed more interactive. The bench from the park was the highlight for me. I can imagine him sitting there and watching his kids.
I am glad you checked another bucket list item, that was one for me as well, I got to check mine off 2 years ago. The museum is so informative, love it.
It is a wonderful exhibit of Walt's life. I visited there last year, and it did also remind me and underline, however, how special the ~real~ Disney experience is, in terms of 'guest relations.' Your experience with being told the rules 'no vloggers' brings back memories of my trip there, and how---though it is fantastic to see so much of his life, and I also highly recommend it to anyone who loves Walt---the museum itself just made me even more aware and appreciative of how Walt wanted guests to be treated...as guests, with warm hospitality. This museum is not a Disney property, so naturally that kind of service is not necessarily to be expected. It was kind of weird, I guess, having Walt everywhere, but not feeling like it was a true Disney environment that we're all used to. 😊 Does that make sense? 😁 Definitely worth visiting, though. The place is full of SO much history! 👏😃 But...the last part of the museum is very emotional, indeed. Especially for those of us who have any memory of that day in 1966 when Mickey cried. 😢
They should have let you vlog the whole way through, your a very loyal fan of Disney. Been to Disney Museum the first time I visited San Francisco and it is an awesome museum. I liked the a Disneyland model in the lower level a lot. Great vlog Adam, I hope next time they grant you permission to vlog the whole museum. 👍👍
I went to this place when they had displayed all the art and animatics they had done for Snow White. That was a lot of fun and very interesting to see all the effort and hard work put into the sketches, cell art, water color, and animatics/animation done for the movie. I also enjoyed the interactive sound booth where you had to try and sync the sound to the cartoon clip of Steam Boat Willy. Would like to go again when my friends are available and we're raring to go to SF.
Great video Adam! I vlogged from this museum a couple of years ago, luckily didn't have any trouble back then, kind of a bummer that they stopped you (especially as it seemed like you went on a quiet day). It'd be nice if they would be a little lenient depending on maybe how disturbing it is to other guests; I can understand if they get obnoxious younger youtubers in there with selfie sticks etc, but surely filming the museum whilst commenting isn't hurting anybody... Anyway, what a great museum; hopefully you enjoyed it as much as I did and anybody who wants to see more can check out other vlogs or go themselves.
That's odd. I volunteered at the museum several days a week for a solid year and a half and not once did any of my supervisors mention vlogging not being allowed. I'd see people in there all the time with cameras narrating the experience and even did so myself a couple times in front of other museum staff. The only photography rule I was aware of was the standard no flash pictures or video lighting. Must be a new rule implemented in the past year or so.
I didn't even know about this museum, but b/c I saw it here it makes me want to visit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. The management there should realize they are getting free publicity from bloggers. Thanks for another insightful video Adam.👍
Hey Adam! Enjoyed watching this Vlog on the Disney family and how Walt started he's successful business Walt Disney world and Walt Disney land, which is known around the world. and hope one day in the near future to visit my Childhood dream, Plus looking forward watching another awesome Vlogs. 🏰🏰🏰
If you're still in San Francisco Adam you must do a vlog Video at Alcatraz no trip to San Francisco is complete without stopping by to visit The Rock one of the most famous and head core prison in history.
From what I remember Walt Disney's daughter had this as she had all these things that belonged too her dad and refused too leave them in the hands of the Walt Disney Company as we know it. I heard when she passed away it was all left too her son who is keeping the Museum open.
