I am a fan of The waltons. weneed more families like them. its hard to pick a favorite character. but, i know who my least Favorite Charactr was. it was coreybeth. she's the only character on the Waltons rthat i didn't care for.IThought She Was Arrogant, pompous amd insufferable.
The part about Michael Learned is backward. She played in the series Nurses after The Waltons. Also, John Walton and the Grandfather in The Homecoming were different. Edgar Buchanan played Grandpa.
@FactsVerse how about a bio on Patricia Neal. Great actress and when she did Homecoming it was after having a serious stroke. Dark sultry voice underrated sex appeal. In the movie Hud, her antagonist was Paul Newman and she was not upstaged by him in the slightest.
The Waltons had a great cast. Besides the family Ike Godsey was a easy going storekeeper. I wish there would've been a general merchandise store where I grew up where you could drink a bottle of pop and play a couple of games of pool with Grandpa Walton or visit the Baldwin sisters where they offer some of the recipe while they tell stories. That was a great show built on family morals and values.
I had a huge crush on John boy! So did my best friend! Oh dear!We found out he was seeing a form guest star! That broke both our hearts!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Young Love!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Waltons series is one of my favorites! I find it dificult to choose a favorite character, they are all unique individuals with their own personalities. What I enjoy is that each episode has a different story to tell with life experiences that are interesting and easy to relate to, and I enjoy watching all the re-runs!
7:48 In The Homecoming, Andrew Duggan played John, not Ralph Waite; Edgar Bergen played Grandpa, not Will Geer; Woodrow Parfrey played Ike Godsey, not Joe Conley; Josephine Hutchinson and Dorothy Stickney played the Baldwins, not Helen Kleeb and Mary Jackson; the role of Hawthorne Dooley was quickly dropped from the series; yet Grandma Walton and all the Walton children remained the same from the movie to the series.
LOL a few years ago I was watching one of The Waltons holiday specials I don't remember which holiday I think it was Christmas actually but anyway it ran all day on the Hallmark Channel well I started watching it in the morning and in one scene John Boy tells his siblings to behave or else they're going to get a spanking well the weird thing was anyway I only saw that particular scene one time LOL because all through the rest of the day that whole entire scene was cut out because parents were complaining about it being child abuse and they didn't want it being aired on the Hallmark Channel good grief
Ellen Corby had her stroke in season 5 and returned in March 1978. Richard Thomas left because of a contract dispute. Robert Wightman played John Boy starting in 1979. Richard Thomas only returned for three Waltons TV movies.
Richard Thomas absolutely did not leave because of a contract dispute!😡He only signed a 5 year contract from the very beginning. He never expected the show to last 5 years. Do some research!!!
The Homecoming had several other cast differences, including Edgar Bergen as Grandpa Walton, Andrew Duggan as John Walton, and Woodrow Parfrey as Ike Godsey. Still a great video! And I always thought they should've made one more reunion move. The John has passed, Olivia still lives in the same house, and John Boy is living in Hollywood, helping to create a TV show about his youth!
Your project serves as a cinematic masterpiece, inviting viewers to delve into the captivating world of 1960s Hollywood and then accompany these actors on their inspiring and enduring journeys through time. *DO YOU AGREE WITH ME*
I am a bit disappointed that, in revealing secrets, you did not mention that Will Geer was bisexual (he had numerous affairs with men, including activist Harry Hay) and Ellen Corby was lesbian (she met Stella Luchetta in 1954, and they remained a couple until Corby's passing in 1999.)
What did you intentionally ostrisise and totally omit Judy Norton Taylor, Mary Ellen Walton, from this piece? Was it heacuse Judy did pose in Playboy? If you can't or won't provide a legitimate reason here and now and attach it here, you will be immediately block from my viewing.
I don't know who made this video but it's full of baloney!!!! Michael Learned did NOT turn down the role because of a show called Nurse. Nurse came later after she had already been on The Waltons. The house is NOT a real house built in the 30's. It was a facade , not even a real house. There are no real family photos shown in the opening credits. There is no lake in the opening credits. Where did you get this stuff??????
Ellen was a lesbian & WILL WAS OPENLY BISEXUAL. They kept this quiet because they felt The fans who loved the characters would be unable to, accept they were played by people so different. Neither hid it B4 gaining the roles.
@@FactsVerse I ENJOYED JIM BOB . I liked all the characters but he was the most interesting. I understand David has left the acting field & thought I would like to more of him, I wish him every happiness in whatever he chooses to do with his life .
When they were mentioning guest stars I'm surprised they didn't mention Steven Bradford Culp. He has done tons and tons of movies and he has done several TV appearances; JAG, CSI, NCIS (he played a different character than he did when he was on JAG), Grey's Anatomy,(I only watched that series to see him} Code Black, I can't remember tons and tons of other TV shows he had guess roles on but I have seen him in many of them because he has a very distinctive voice lmao 🤣 LMAO so sometimes I don't even know he's going to be on the show and then I'll be doing something and I'll turn around because I'll hear his voice and I'm like 'yep that's Steven!' He's adorable. I keep trying to buy movies that he's actually been in just to see him I do have a few of them I have how to build a monster, Firehouse dog, (I have this other movie that he plays a veterinarian LOL but I can't think of the name of the movie it's away in one of my milk crates somewhere because I recently moved) The only reason why I wanted to watch Captain America the Winter soldier it's because Steven comes in at the very end of it for like 30 seconds. Lmao 🤣
What fishing pond scene in the beginning of the show? There is NO fishing pond scene in the beginning of the Waltons. This narrator is getting the Waltons and the Andy Griffith show openings confused.
As someone old enough to actually live in that time frame, I thought they had moved forward in time . The girls hair dos were what we wore in that time , & JOHN BOY was doing the KENNEDY THING . I guess I was just going with the flow ? Was it one of the specials. I keep thinking it WAS a special as they had JOHN BOY ENGAGED ? The specials were not part of the series were they? Richard was back as JOHN BOY .
A good review of the Waltons, however you said that the Vietnamese war toke place during the show . That was a mistake, the Vietnamese war started in 1975, along time after the timeframe the Waltons was set in .
What's the homecoming one who is a fantastic episode with the original cast of the waters I watched the homecoming one or the one from 1997 and I watch the original Walton series it was a fantastic programme the cast of the original the original cast from the original Waltons setting beautiful Virginia the location where they filmed it was fantastic just from the regional pictures from all the cast and crew the Walton family Richard Thomas was a great John boy he was a great John Boy and I watched the better when I say goodnight to each other so fantastic colours so good night and it was a great when they say all the family so I could not do one another when I say goodnight to one another all the brothers and sisters say goodnight from the family the mum that Dad the grandfather all of them remarkable seen such a remarkable theme the whartons Martin it's a lovely setting expenses mounting Spencer's mountain
Todd Bridges who was on Different Strokes later on was a guest star on The Walton's. Hal Williams who played Officer Smith on Sanford & Son played Harley Foster on The Waltons.
@TerryCloth another good episode was when her out spoken daughter came back home with her granddaughter no husband and feeling cursed with the collage education Verdie work her butt off to give her. A lot of good episodes written for Lynn's character. Other blacks were featured also such as Cleveon Little as a prize fighter minister.
