Because now it's Disney, not Walt Disney, who's making the content (I can't call them movies anymore😢). I remember watching his show on Sunday at 6pm, he'd be in his office telling us about what we were going to be seeing that night .. Charlie the Lonesome Cougar, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, the Three Lives of Thomasina, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (with a teenage Kurt Russell)... THAT was why it was called the Wonderful World of Disney ❤❤❤
@@porrickcastlefinn9797 She still is a big star here in Germany. She is originally from Vienna but moved to Munich quite early on in her career and can be seen on TV and cinema in German speaking movies until today.
I have not seen this before. Who knew Disney could have produced something like this. It's wonderful to hear Johann Strauss Jr's music at any time. Thanks for posting
I wasnt born this time, but I saw this movie on TV when I was a kid, may be in the 80's it was on TV, my uncle recorded it on VHS tape. Im so glad I can see this again, Johann Strauss senior& junior were awesome
@@EJP286CRSKW "Only" ... but a producer "just" does not "only put the money" ... he/she/they choose the production crew, the talents, supplied post-production ... etc... and had the class of using local talents ... for "just" a TV film production ... theatrically shown in Europe! ;-)
Maybe you now understand how propaganda works. Haven't you heard of Fantasia? you never knew because you closed your eyes and listened to repulican nonsence.
Thank you 🙏 Thank you no words can describe this amazing movie and reminds us the wonderful music of J Strauss and his Fabulous Waltzes I wish we could live this times again thank you for sharing Awesome 👏 👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How about that. Good movie and no Blue Danube. I like that. I like the effect of the lead shot in the hems of the gowns. It's a pity Disney's lost its way.
I just read this in the Wikipedia article on Die Fledermaus: According to the archivist of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, "Twenty years after its production as a lyric opera in Vienna, [composer and conductor Gustav] Mahler raised the artistic status of Strauss's work by producing it at the Hamburg Opera House [...] all the leading opera houses in Europe, notably Vienna and Munich, have brightened their regular repertoire by including it for occasional performance."[3] An awesome result for ‘the Waltz King’!
Thanks for this delicious film with many famous Austrian actors and characters. I live almost next to the Viennese opera house and love this presentation. I did not know it exists. The operette ``Die Fledermaus``, The Bat, is shown every New Year`s Eve in the opera and there is a huge screen built up before the building so that the public can participate. 🎩
Just amazing……I had completed my Grade 8 Pianoforte at the Far Eastern School of Music In Singapore. Both the Associated Board of Music and Trinity College of Music are the certifications . The classics are so a part of my blood eventhough I never pursued a music career as a teacher or performer and became a designer of furniture and interior design, music is a whole part of my life and my designs are inspired by the Music In My Heart ….waltz waltz waltz away……so romantic all the way from Malaysia ❤️LOVE TO STRAUSS
Really love this movie. The first time I saw it was in 1981 and since then I have been trying to see it again. It always remind me of my mom. So happy to see this movie again after more than 40 yrs.
This is a great movie about Strauss’s family and music. I really enjoyed every single second of it and I feel I wish I had lived in Vienna in Strauss tine. However, the movie ignored the great waltz in the world “The Blue Danube Waltz” and I was disappointed the movie didn’t play this magical waltz. Overall, it was a great movie.
So are Emperor Waltz, Morning Paper Waltz, Accelerations Waltz, One Day When We Were Young. Vienna Blood, etc., --- these are not in the movie. I am surprise that the movie mentioned his brother Josef Strauss (who actually was the Engineering Manager for the City of Vienna). He invented the street sweeping machine, now used by many cities around the world.
I've wanted for so long to see this again - thanks for posting. I'd be interested in seeing any Disney live-action films and TV productions from the 50s and 60s, my childhood years.
What a joy to watch this gem with my most favorite German actors I had no idea they all did a Walt Disney Film together. What a marvellous beautiful movie. Love Love Love it. I keep dancing since I watched it & love the way this fabulous movie makes me feel. Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Which German actors do you refer to? 3 of the actors including the leading lady, were born in Austria. Of course these would be considered sometimes German, though they're Austrian. The Lead actor Kevin Matthew's is American and Brian Aherne is British.
@@eveyholmes Peter Kraus (born in Munich & a friend of my grandfather), Kai Fischer (born in Germany) & Karl Lieffen (born in Germany & a friend of my grandfather), Senta Berger & Fritz Eckhardt (yes, Austrian but they made so many German Films. I know that both were born in Austria but they made so many fab Films with the great&fabulous of the UFA etc)
Wow, the other day I was thinking about this movie I've seen when I was a kid, I love the waltz music specialy violin classical. Thank you so much for sharing💗💗
I finally found this wonderful movie,I saw when I was barely 7 and never forgot it. The reason I went to Austria a couple of times because of this music
Finalmente! Depois de tantos anos de espera e procura por este belo filme, eis que zapeando o velho Google, o encontrei ! Agora, é curtir, recurtir e .....Feliz! Gratíssimo a quem o postou!
Henrietta Treffz - mezzo-soprano / 1818- 1878 / was 44 years old when she married 7 years her junior Johann Strauss II -jr. At 59 she suffered from heart attack and died .Seven weeks later in 1878 Strauss remarried Angelika Dittrich an actress. In 1887 he married his 3 wife Adele Deutch.
@@melianna999 Maybe so, but grief takes time, and they didn't even wait 6 months to remarry. Regardless of when they had met, grief is so demanding that it simply takes time to process. It seems clear that they had miniscule grief. Maybe their first was an abusive shrew such that they didn't miss them (for good reason), or maybe their heart was shallow such that they didn't feel loss. We don't know; it is notable though.
im so glad i found your channel , watching these rare disney movies is so much fun do you maybe by any chance have these rare titles ( i cant locate them anywhere) 1. escapade in florence , 2. sammy the wayout seal, 3.the magnificent rebel , 4. the horse without a head , 5. a boy called nothin , 6. my dog the thief ( i havent seen these in years , its a shame these disney tv movie doesnt get the same treatment as the ones released in theaters , some of them are just as good as the ones released in theaters)
I saw this when I was a child long ago. I was fascinated with it then, and still adore the music so very much. I had never thought to see it again. Thank you for putting it up.
This fathers attitude is good contrast to Push his son on to be as great as he was. Some times its what it takes for a kid to find out what he loves ...and builds character too ..
Excellent. Movie I just hope we have more of these movies with beautiful music .great scenery and. People inspiring each other. Good values no swearing, no violence . It shows how people achieve their goals with the of families and friends. The world needs to go back and start to listen to relaxing music . Pleasant music is healing and it helps us to calm down and. Get rid of the stress around us. Loud music. Creates stress. And stress. Makes us age faster
Sadly, the last decent film made by actor Kerwin Mathews, everybody's favorite childhood fantasy hero (Jack the Giant Killer, 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Gulliver, etc). After The Waltz King, he knocked around Europe for a few years, then returned to America but could only find work in low-budget junk (Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Octa-man!, etc) before giving it up to run his famous antique store Pierre Deux in San Francisco. After his big heyday (late 50's/early 60's) , things just never worked out for Mathews, always a modest, unassuming and very professional guy. LR
Good movie - it is a little bit closer to the real life of Johann Strauss Junior than the 1938 "The Great Waltz". In that movie, Hollywood created a fictional "Mrs. Strauss" and his opera singer wife Jetty became his extra-marital girl friend.
