Another family channel is under fire. Austin McBroom’s younger brother, Landon McBroom, is trying to follow his big brother’s footsteps but things quickly turned sour. What led to their breakup is worse than we can possibly imagine, and having a child makes it even harder.

Exactly, instead of problem solving they just raise the volume to drive their point home. So unhealthy for all involved. Those children are going to ‘fawn’ as they grow up, fawning is what we do to control our environment from growing up in an uncomfortable fearful environment. My thoughts exactly. It's still mind boggling to me that Landon thought a video of his mother verbally abusing Shyla and cursing her mother out on the phone would do him any good. The only thing it did proof is, that the perspective of the whole McBroom Clan ,on what's normal in a relationship, is AWFULLY off.

Was formally in a very abusive relationship as a teen. Before hand I was very meek and let everyone walk all over me. But when I finally broke up with my ex and he was calling me all sorts of disgusting things... you best believe I screamed at him over the phone. Full on screatching. Also when he proceeded to stalk me for months after, and he finally approached me outside my grandma's house and was trying to touch me and get me to get back with him, I told him if he dares to stalk me again, I would be calling the police. He never approached me again. Straight after, I went into my nans house and was shaking and crying. It doesn't suddenly mean that I was never abused. It's just that my anger was larger than my fear in those moments

I agree. Shayla should have saw the signs but for a period of time she was okay with putting her and her child’s life on camera for the world to see when in all actuality, she should have had her foot down from the beginning. I’ve been in this type situation before and would only get aggressive when others were around and my ex couldn’t put his hands on me. I still have ptsd and feel for her!

Literally same!!! I was screaming that at my phone so angrily like UGH ARE YOU KIDDING ME! And then getting her dad who she CLEARLY doesn’t have a good relationship with to make a statement like that just because he’s been “wronged” by her mum and is amounting it to her being just like her mum…that infuriated me! My dad and I have a similar relationship. Rocky, not that great. He doesn’t know me like REALLY know me and one time he got mad at me and took his anger from my mum out on me and said “mhm, you’re just like your mum!” Mind you, he has barely been in my life to even say anything about me OR my mum. I literally cried during her clips and seeing her distress. Gosh this whole situation makes me so upset!

I had an aunt that did that to my cousin when he was around 8. He had a temper, but she liked to rile him up then turn on a voice recorder when he had a meltdown. She’d totally flip and act like a saint when the recording started, because she wanted sympathy from everybody. My dad is the one who figured out what she was doing because the recordings always started after his meltdown started, and he walked into the yard once and she was riling him up. She was a total narcissist,

Reactive abuse is a thing. It happens when the abuser pushes the victim to the point where they explode, and then the abuser sits back calm and quiet, just as Landon does while Shyla loses her temper, so they look perfectly innocent and rational while the victim loses it and looks unstable. This is exactly what happens when a narcissist loses control - they start intimidation tactics, psychological torture tactics and then they triangulate people into both participating in the abuse of the victim and supporting the abuser (the Nanny). Narcissistic men usually are trained by narcissistic mothers.

as someone who has ptsd from abuse, there are some times where your brain picks a flight or fight. which can lead to the one being abused to act out aggressively to the abuser. no one is going to have the same reaction. so his accusation of "an abused person doesn't act like this" yes they do. they can be fearful, they can be paranoid, they can be aggressive to the said abuser. however I do agree that she needs to learn not to be aggressive, cuz it could make things worse. your brain doesn't know that tho. they just know this person will hurt you and go into overdrive. the human brain is super weird.

I guess the McBrooms take holding the child and giving kisses were the way to take care of a child, not changing nor feeding them or soothing their crying, nope. She didn't even clarify how often Landon held his child, it may as well had been like 2 to 3 times. Please it was obvious the nanny was taking sides. And in the end, it was true that Shayla was responsible for taking care of Souline and Landon at the same time, since she actually paid her, not Landon.

Honestly, unless the parents are engaging in the child performer laws that protect the kids from their families, they shouldn't be able to monetize their children. Family vlogs in general really shouldn't get monetization because it inventiveses child abuse. Yeah only a handful are bad actors, but its worth protecting the handful of kids. Parents can go get real jobs.

My daughter had to get a temporary restraining order from her ex which had to be approved by a judge first. That judge then set a court date for both her and the ex to state their sides to the judge in which case he decided whether to make the restraining order to be permanent, which thank God he did. My daughter's ex is serving 4 years for what he did to my daughter because he was on probation at the time and it was a violation. My daughter has to get updates from VINE because she constantly worries about the day he will be released. If this girl really was abused, I'm glad she got away from him and is safe. If she wasn't, then she is making a mockery out of real victims of abuse.

So many things are taken out of context here but I believe that Shayla’s outbreaks are caused by all the stress she experienced throughout this case. Sure she might overreact but it’s mother instinct. Mothers naturally will think of the worst case scenario not mentioning that Shayla didn’t trust Landon from the beginning. And talking about the DA, yes I do believe that the survivor of DA would stand up for themselves to make sure that the aggressor would know what they did wrong. I have not experienced it myself, but that is just what I think on this situation. Of course I don’t think we know everything about this case, but we can hope that this problem will turn out in the best possible way

Most of Landon's evidence is allegded while a lot of Shyla's can be confirmed 3. Also Shyla doesn't have to let "Every family member" be near souline. I was taught to not always be forced to take toxic family's BS. My son won't know the toxic side in mine or my fiancé's side of the families. So Shyla has a right to not want or not have Landon's mom around her daughter. I think Shyla should get full custody. When I was abused I would mimmick that abuse and act out aggressively all the time after I realized making myself small was just helping him put his hands on me more. No one was there to defend me and I tried to defend myself. So yes people who are abused can most definitely act aggressive.

I believe Shyla for sure!!! Landons mom should be in jail, as well as her son. There are so many horrible parts to this story. I’ve been in a relationship where I discovered that my ex and his family were plotting to take my daughter, as well as trying to control me and abuse me and… ewww! This brings back horrible memories. I’m currently in an amazing relationship. My boyfriend treats me and my daughters like royalty. I’m so happy. I know how it feels to be in that situation. I’m glad she’s out, it’s only going to get better for her from here.

My birth father SA’d me from before I can remember until 5YO and A*used my mother very violently. When my baby brother was born I spoke out to the police to protect him. I testified in open court and stood up to my birth father who’d spent years threatening to unalive me and my mother. Not all victims are silent. Not all victims let fear keep them from having the courage to stand up to the ab*ser. And Landon’s mindset on how a victim “should” act truly shows just how much of a toxic ab*sive person he is.

Hey spill! Amazing video as usual, but the subtitles are weird. It’s too fast and the amount of words grouped into each subtitle are too small. At least a whole sentence would fit if it wasn’t chopped up into phrases. I pointed this out because I felt dizzy reading that I just gave up on the subtitles after a few minutes in. I still appreciate the hard work though!
