@@zugzi that’s a good question. I feel like the memories are fractured and not 100% clear. Because if it was Armin would have known everything about Marley and outside of the walls after he ate bertolt. Even Eren didn’t have access to his dad’s full memories until he came into contact with Dina.
“Can’t you see I’m a Titan?!” This line hits so good considering he’s been fighting in wars where people were terrified of Titans. This part gave me hella chills on my first watch.
season 4 is one of mappa's greatest accomplishment, because they managed to make it so different and yet the same as far as the soul of the story is concerned.
also one of the most underrated bits is the soundtrack from Kohta Yamamoto. Amazing original compositions blended in perfectly with the work of Hiroyuki Sawano. The whole production while being handled by a different studio managed to pull off such a tough task, especially since the preceding season was the retaking shiganshina arc. To make everything different but the same, and they succeeded. Even the artstyle suits this new story more, even though I prefer Studio Wit's artstyle. But now imagining anything else feels wrong.

man you guys will never understand how long we had to wait in between season 3 and 4, and how they seperated the 4th season. the anticipation led to insane breakdowns and theories every ep and genuinley proved how hooked everyone was to AOT. Glad yall are finally to season 4.
Killing mercilessly yes, but even if Eren hadn't attack war is long time coming and Tybur's speech was the declaration of that war. Had Tybur talked about peace with the paradis island Eren may not have attacked. You can observe Eren only wanted to have a conversation with Reiner and he only transforms after Tybur's speech converts to hatespeech.
It's naive to think that Eren was there just to talk to Reiner and only decided to attack when Tybur declares war. You're right that this does justify Eren somewhat, but this was a coordinated attack that was planned well in advance. And Eren was working with Zeke who was pushing for Marley to attack Paradis.

"Dudee stop ending". Imagine if you are in a vacation of sorts, and you spent 4 days straight watching attack on Titan non-stop. Like eat, sleep, AOT, repeat. That's what I did back when finale came out. Those were the best 4 days of my life for sure. 🥹
That moment when Pieck hears the ODM gear sound is one of my favorite subtle moments in the show. The way she freaks out knowing exactly the type of damage that's about to happen while everyone else is clueless is just 🤤🤌

Pure Joy. They say, "Never start watching anime with Attack on Titan". Because then you would think that all anime is this good with no filler episodes.
As a fan, you usually get behind some characters and support them to enhance your experience with the story. I was 100% supporting the Paradis by the end of season 3 but after watching this, I also had this phase of confusion about getting behind anyone completely. The storytelling is amazing, but you can't get the itch and hype that you normally get from supporting a certain group of characters. I guess that is a necessary sacrifice for such a story wrapped in realistic concepts.

Among all titans that Marley have, only Warhammer and Jaw who have never witnessed (or having memory of) the brutality of Paradise army. That's why they're too cocky

@@ricketycricket4361quite the opposite. While it has gotten better, there are far more translation errors in dubs. This is because they have to try and match the animation. The voice acting is typically much worse as well.

The only thing you said that wasn't a blatant lie is the final sentence, which is entirely preference and dependant on the voice actors' skills themselves. Sub is known to have terrible translation due to the fact Japanese doesn't translate directly very well to English, so when you try to subtitle Japanese sentences in English, it doesn't come out properly. There are like 50+ examples of improper translation in AoT alone that I could provide where this is the case. Dub, on the other hand, isn't direct translation. Instead, it's rewritten in English. Therefore, the sentences actually make sense and aren't poorly translated, often lacking proper syntax the way a sub does. This isn't up for debate; it's just how the language works, and I say that as a Japanese man, fluent in both. In addition to AoT, most animes are like this, though the quality of the dub often fluctuates with the quality of whoever is rewriting it in English. OnePiece, Naruto, AoT, JJK, and basically any other large-scale anime have countless examples of poor Sub translation due to this.
Tybur doesn't hate Eldians. He's trying to convince Magath not to have a moment of conscience and think about all the Eldian lives that will be lost, and at the same time, himself as well. Magath knows this, and thus later admits that both him and Tybur are worse than the supposed devils for going through the plan knowing full well the cost of innocent civilian lives. Also, it's underappreciated the genius of who was the successor of the Warhammer titan. Tybur always makes it clear that it's one of his family, yet it happens to be the unsuspecting maid. In other words, the maid must have been a secret child born from public eyes, grew up with all the knowledge that she is the blood relative, yet acts as a maid around her blood brothers and sisters, all so that she could reveal herself as the Warhammer Titan once the enemy bit the bait and killed the most likely candidate, Tybur. The multiple layers of deception and sacrifice here is crazy.
What you mean they don't hate eldians? You do know that they are the one controlling Marley right? They know what Marley is doing to eldians and how they use them in wars. They also know that the king of the walls isn't gonna fight but they still wanted to kill everyone on the island for its resources
Actually, Tybur does hate the Eldians. He is in fact a self-hating Eldian, and refuses to identify himself and his family as part of the race. It's similar to how Zeke hates his own race, but the point of differentiation is Zeke does not hate to the point of not identifying himself as an Eldian. Going back to Tybur, he directs his hate for Eldians towards the people of the island for political gain, since he wants Marley to obtain the Founder's power and make use of the Rumbling if needed against Marley's rival nations (since military technology to effectively kill titans and that can potentially destroy Marley is catching up). Tybur shares a similar belief of guilt for the crimes of what the Eldian empire did to Marley and the world in the past, but he is not a pacifist like the late King Fritz who fled to the walls in Paradis. He decides to use propaganda to rally all the other nations against the Eldians in Paradis island.
@@AppleBaron Exactly. Tyburs hate Eldians and so they hate themselves too, it's that kind of self-hatred that lead you to believe everyone else is in the right and you alone are in the wrong. No wonders they plotted that whole atonement plan with King Fritz and allowed Marley to do whatever they want... they are fine even if it leads to eldian complete extermination.
an important detail to remember is the fact that between Pieck and Galliard, Pieck's the only one's who fought against "the devil's of paradis" thereby knowing what they're capable of; it's why she was more scared than Galliard when she first heard their ODM gear. as for Galliard, he was absolutely shocked that he suddenly couldn't bite down after Ackerman cut his jaw cause Galliard's never experienced such a threat before. he had heard about Ackerman and the devils as a whole through intel but not seeing them for himself. so when all of the sudden he's sees regular people coming after him he is shocked because just regular people are weak compared to titans; it's then when realizes they're not just regular people, but the devils of paradis.
How much of the memories from Ymir on the scouts did he get? Can it be assumed that he didn't get much from his reaction on seeing how good they operate in this episode?
@@zugzi he definitely only got some . Not all. He got enough to know Reiner acted a little too nice to them at some points as mentioned in 4x2. But he def didn’t get all of them to see how talented of fighters they were in detail. Imo

The very moment Eren says "ιмα∂α мιкαѕα" (Now or never, Mikasa) is the moment we knew the Marleyans are done for and will surely get cooked Also, the sudden change of OST (from the most badass) to another (most underrated and nostalgic) one during Mikasa's Entry gave me Pure Goosebumps On top of that, the amount of Thrill & Nostalgia we felt being able to see the Scout Regiment along with their New ODM Gear after missing for 5 straight Episodes is beyond words

I personally think that the shot of Magath at Eren was a way to tell his subordinates to not hesitate in firing at Eren. Also to validate their actions as it was their superior who did it first.

Marley declared war first. Not this night, but nine years before when they sent children to commit genocide. At some point, the island was going to fight back. They can't play the victim now. Now they're both aggressors.
