Secession most definitely was a goal of some of the federalists. Timothy Pickering stumped openly for a New England secession and subsequent confederacy.

One musn't forget, the founders had drafted, and passed I might add, the original 13th amendment to the Constitution. The "Titles of Nobility Amendment" (TONA) Barring those who had sworn allegiance to the British Atonement Registry, (BAR) from holding office of public trust, and included other provisions concerning loss of citizenship! One of their concerns, included allowing Admirality jurisdiction of law to come ashore, being an affront, to "American Common Law" jurisdiction! Fort Detroit's attack, (a ruse of retaliation by the British, for our burning their fort in Montreal) was also used for the excuse to attack, sack and burn, the Whitehouse in Washington D.C.! Whose basement held the Congressional records, recording it's actual Ratification by the required number of States. Now you have the rest of the (His)story!
Your history is not as good as you would like it to be. The entire war of 1812 was fought over "The titles of nobility amendment" aka "the missing amendment". This amendment in 1811 was ratified by 8 states, only needing 1 more to become the 13th amendment. This amendment makes anyone with a title of nobility including lawyers and judges excluded from holding public office. Meaning no lawyer could ever hold a position in Congress, presidency, state legislature. The question is Why? Why did the sovereign states, who wielded considerable power over the feds make war on lawyers and judges. The answer is the BAR. British accreditation recency, aka the temple aka the crown aka the test ever American who wishes to wield the power of the law has to subscribe to. Peace treaty of 1783, the Americans agreed to keep all binding contracts from before the war in full effect. Meaning the Virginia charter of 1606 a binding contract, garunteed king George got paid 1 way or another. The first central bank of the United States was established in 1792 to funnel funds from the American people to the British crown by pointman Hamilton who represented the "federalist" half of government who modeled themselves after the British. It's 20 year charter was not going to be re enacted. Lawyers and judges today make up almost 90% of congress. There job is also to enforce all binding legal contracts. The states went after these lawyers who were entrenched in the federal government robbing the American people. Soon as king George though he was going to lose the new world forever he acted and destroyed the American armies in the north and burned DC to the ground. After the war things went back to normal just as king George wanted. The second central bank of America was chartered in 1815 just at wars end. In 1816 Virginia ratifies the "missing amendment". Why is this amendment not the law in every state of the union? Who is responsible for an entire amendment being nullified not just from history but law?
